While we’re sharing ailments, I seems to be developing lots of dry patches of skin on my face, arms, back. Does anyone else have that?

I’m still getting used to my pregnancy pillow. I like to turn a lot when getting to sleep and it’s a bit constraining!

MrsB2019x · 11/03/2021 09:54

Is anybody using a pregnancy pillow that isn’t a full body one? I think that would drive me mad, @LottSE20 I’m a roller too so think a full body one would do my head in!

lucyrp · 11/03/2021 09:56

@LottSE20 I'm just scaly all over 🤣

I don't think a pregnancy pillow is for me so il just struggle on 😂

Alittlexmasmagic · 11/03/2021 10:31

@MrsB2019x I'm a roller but using the Kally pillow like others have suggested.
I've tried others before and hated them as there's something designed to go between your knees, so when you want to turn over you have to flip the whole thing. Not comfortable, easy or graceful.
The Kally I prefer as the "legs" can be pushed out the way or moved to suit. Quite often I'll be hugging one side and DH has pinched the other!x

@MrsB2019x

I am also a roller and love my Kally pillow?
I like it that when ever I roll over there is a leg rest at each side. I sleep with the u bit on my pillow, so the 2 legs are either side of me then I don't need to take the whole pillow with me when I roll!!

BertieBotts · 11/03/2021 10:41

@PurplePansy05 no slapping here! Do speak to your midwife if these thoughts are becoming intrusive as it's very common to suffer from antenatal anxiety and you don't have to struggle on alone. You can get support with it and it also means support/flagging will be in place in case you get postnatal anxiety after the birth as well.

I think I'm going to use a breastfeeding pillow as a pregnancy support pillow soon.

@lucyrp I know exactly that deep hunger feeling that you mean.

Oh god those mini pork pies sound amazing!! They are not a thing we can get here. I've been snacking on guacamole which I don't usually like but is amazing right now!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/03/2021 10:43

@LottSE20 I get dry patches on my shoulders! I can moisturise all I want but that’s like an area that dries out in 15 minutes and it’s itchy.

@MrsB2019x I love my Bbhugme pregnancy pillow. It’s pricey but it’s soo comfortable and you can even make a doughnut out of it and sleep on your tummy for later stages. It supports my knees and ankles and yes I’m still getting used to it but so far so good. It’s like a bean bag so it moulds as per your body. Super comfortable.

I think you have a few good options between the kally and bbhugme x

Magik01 · 11/03/2021 11:36

@PurplePansy05 sending you virtual hugs! I bet it’s super stressful with a reno and move as well, just try and take a step back and know everything will work out. Flowers

@LaceyMermaid that’s brilliant news, congratulations!!

@MrsB2019x I’ve also got the bbhugme and I love it. It is pricey but I know I will use it to years to come, and you can use it to breastfeed as well.

I’ve been feeling so exhausted lately, just needing to nap but not having the time. 😫

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/03/2021 11:45

@Magik01 same here. Super drained! Although last night was literally the second night I slept 7 hours straight since finding out I’m pregnant. No waking up to pee! I was soo happy this morning I could cry! Although that 1 night good sleep has given me some energy I am still tired overall. I’ve only worked out on Monday this week and haven’t even gone for any walks the rest of the week. Hope it gets better as they say second trimester is when you have the most energy x

This is EXACTLY me!! DH steals the left hand leg every night!!!! I’m also a roller and just roll between the Kally legs. Works well!

MrsB2019x · 11/03/2021 12:48

Is it the U shaped one you all have rather than the body one?

Think the Kally is still quite pricey at £50 😕

ElonaWise · 11/03/2021 13:09

Afternoon lovely ladies

In terms of stretch marks, I am definitely going to get a cream or oil, but you hear so many horror stories about essential oils. Can you use Bio Oil or the Clarins body oil?

Sex drive - I'm single and the babies Dad doesn't like me like that anymore, but have noticed a huge difference in this. It's gone through the roof. Not sure it's a great time to date though.

20 Week Scan - so nervous, mine is next week, at 19 weeks and I'm really nervous. No baby movements yet and don't see much change.

Discharge - anyone else getting a lot more of this?

Nipples - anyone else's get cold and feel like they are being stabbed and burnt or grated with a grater at the same time. Whoosh that hurts so much. I am hoping this is not a tiny pain in comparison to breast
feeding.

Anxiety and loneliness - if there's any other single mums in this group and you need a friend to talk pregnancy, you can always talk to me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. So grateful to have you all to chat too.

ElonaWise · 11/03/2021 13:13

@PurplePansy05 I completely understand the anxiety and emotions, it's really tough. Pregnancy affirmations really help me and the calm app for meditation. Sending you good thoughts and here if you ever fancy a chat.

lucyrp · 11/03/2021 13:32

@BertieBotts thank you! I thought I was going mad 🤣

@ElonaWise I use bio oil on my bump, I still have discharge and my nipples are constantly erect like I'm freezing cold 🙄x

PurplePansy05 · 11/03/2021 13:36

Thank you all for your kindness ❤ I slept a bit better last night and had a cuddle with DH which helped. I may have ordered some completely unnecessary decor for the nursery which I shouldn't be spending money on when we have the entire house to renovate first BUT who doesn't love a giraffe??? 😍💙 It's arrived today and it made me smile a lot, and even better, it matches the paint colours I chose for the nursery (btw Little Greene paints ARE something else, I'm now with all the MN ravers!).

I crave cake. Every.single.day. It's really bad. I'm going to make a loaf this weekend and just munch a small slice when I'm desperate...🤦🏼‍♀️ I've really tried in the last few weeks to make sure I have my porridge/weetabix, salad for lunch, greek yoghurt/milk for calcium, 1-2 fruit daily and something homemade from scratch for dinner with veg in it. So that's ok. But then there's cake 🤣 I can't help it.

@ElonaWise I have a lot more discharge to the point I got concerned twice, had an extra scan and spoke to the consultant, they say it's all normal as long as it doesn't gush or trickle for a while. I can see how it's not comfortable and can be worrying though, I don't like this side effect personally.

Another vote for Kally, think I was the first tester on this thread and I still wouldn't be without it. Just ordered another cover for it. I now get hip pain if I try to sleep without it and it definitely eases it. You can spread the U a bit to give you more space @MrsB2019x, it's easy and I don't feel confined in it, just snuggly. Few months ago there was a discount code on this thread, is it still working? xx

PurplePansy05 · 11/03/2021 13:39

Oh and yes @ElonaWise my nipples and breasts are super painful every day now. I wear extra jumper and two scarves to cover my breasts when I go out. I also sit at my desk with a blanket next to me, sometimes cover my chest when they start hurting. Warm flannel in the evening before bed really helps. Keep them as warm as you can at all times, cold is our enemy xx

Daffodil21 · 11/03/2021 13:57

@PurplePansy05 that sounds lovely! What sort of giraffe is it? Like a soft one or one to go on the wall?

I've just eaten two packets of crisps with lunch 🙈 but I also had a tuna salad wrap, and porridge with berries for breakfast so I figured the odd indulgence is ok??

@ElonaWise sorry you are having to go through this without a partner. I know it's not the same but we're all here for you.

I've brought my scan forward to this evening. Dreading it 😩

PurplePansy05 · 11/03/2021 14:09

@Daffodil21 It's actually a light! Just need to get the right batteries for it 😊

Good luck for this evening! xx

lucyrp · 11/03/2021 14:10

I hadn't noticed W difference in how often I was going to the loo until this last week. My god 😂

wimbler · 11/03/2021 14:36

@ElonaWise oh god yes fire nips are awful! I had them last pregnancy and have just started getting them again. I think its a version of raynauds syndrome!

@lucyrp I need to pee all. the. time. so annoying!

MrsB2019x · 11/03/2021 14:50

Good luck for tonight @Daffodil21!

Carefree1 · 11/03/2021 15:50

Hey everyone!

I had my midwife appointment today, my arse barely touched the seat, but I did get to hear little bubs heartbeat which was amazing 🥰.

Big hugs @PurplePansy05

I’m wondering whether to cave soon and get a pregnancy pillow. Some nights my hips are so painful, so I wonder if it will help.

Good luck for your scan tonight @Daffodil21 x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 11/03/2021 15:54

This is the bump butter that my sister got for me from USA. It’s pricey. It just got here today and haven’t used it but it’s soooo creamy when I opened it. Smells mangoish too!

@Daffodil21 all the best for the scan x

Has anyone decided on nursery themes? I’m so excited as we’re moving into the new flat on 22nd! I’m looking at safari/jungle theme as I’m from Kenya originally and have some great animal themed stuff to decorate baby room with 😁

@PurplePansy05 probably be exhausted like you when I move. Mind I already am. Just moved to working from bed 20 minutes ago! I also had baked McCain fries for lunch with a bucket load of salad so I’m feeling super lethargic (food coma!). I also crave cake all the time.

@lucyrp and @wimbler I need to pee all the time too!

@ElonaWise were here anytime you need to talk x

PurplePansy05 · 11/03/2021 16:31

@Whatshouldbemyusername I am also going with the safari/animal theme, we're big animal lovers and want to start planting the seeds early in DS when he arrives too 💙 Another theme choice for me was dinosaurs (big fan too!) but I might wait till he's a bit older 😁 He might be interested in something else by then. DH is a big fan of space, so who knows! For now it will be a happy, bright safari and some rainbows, for obvious reasons ❤🌈 xx
