Good news on your vaccines ladies!!

Will I be able to drive 20mins to a yoga class at 32 weeks, thinking of booking a course to start then but there are non nearby to me!! Not sure If I will be able to drive with a bump!!!

PurplePansy05 · 28/03/2021 19:46

@Carefree1 What do you mean, are your muscles aching? Where exactly, can you identify? xx

Carefree1 · 28/03/2021 19:55

@PurplePansy05, yes it kind of feels like pulled muscle in my lower abdomen, it aches. I’m quietly freaking out xx

DeusEx · 28/03/2021 19:58

A few people posting about vaccines - is advice generally to get or not get if pregnant? Am 18 weeks today :)

Jessicapebbles · 28/03/2021 20:04

@DeusEx It isn’t routinely being offered in pregnancy however some of us have underlying health conditions with make us clinically extremely vulnerable and therefore can decide whether to take up our invitations for the vaccine. I personally did after having my 20 week scan and seeing she was healthy. X

PurplePansy05 · 28/03/2021 20:05

@Carefree1 It very likely is - it's so easily done in pregnancy because of relaxin. I pulled muscles in my back when getting out of bed and didn't even feel this happening! Did you twist your lower or upper body quickly, or were you lying on one side for a while? Even small twists can do this to you now.

No other symptoms? If not I highly doubt it's anything to be concerned about. If it was appendicitis or gallbladder you'd be in terrible pain. No contractions, nausea or bleeding?

I reckon you're fine and it's the muscle. Rest up tonight and if you're still concerned tomorrow call the OAU, they'll check you over and may refer you for physio if needed xx

Carefree1 · 28/03/2021 20:18

I can’t remember doing anything specific to bring it on @PurplePansy05. I’m hoping that it’s all it is. I’ve not got any cramping or anything and already had my appendix removed thankfully.

I’ll give my midwife a call tomorrow, my 20 week scan isn’t until Thursday xx

BertieBotts · 28/03/2021 21:34

You should be able to drive right until the end, @LyraShaeLilly, unless you have a tiny car. My mum had to stop driving when pregnant with my sister but she drove a mini!

biscuitcat · 28/03/2021 22:18

Congratulations @Jessicapebbles! It must feel really lovely ☺️ mine is rebooked for next week so I can join the club then! (@DeusEx to add to @Jessicapebbles's note, I'm getting mine done because of my job rather than being clinically vulnerable)

@Carefree1 sorry to hear you're worrying - it's so easy to do isn't it! I've definitely found that I'm doing myself an injury more easily nowadays because of the relaxin like @PurplePansy05 said - I took a big fall yesterday when I tripped over cobbles while trying to talk on the phone and carry things in both hands (silly to do really). Usually for something like that I'd be a bit stiff for a few hours then fine, but I'm massively feeling it still which I can only think is the pregnancy. I hope your midwife is reassuring tomorrow xx

PurplePansy05 · 28/03/2021 22:25

@Carefree1 I have no experience in placenta abruption if that's what concerns you but I think most cases of this happen with some prior history/predisposition to it, it very rarely happens randomly. But if you're still in pain tomorrow tell the OAU what your concerns are, I am sure they won't ignore you. Best to get it checked for peace of mind instead of worrying. I'm sure everything is OK though, get yourself in bed and have a comfy night sleep tonight, rub the bump with bump butter or cream too, this will help both of you relax xx

LyraShaeLilly · 28/03/2021 22:41

@BertieBotts

I have Mini but the bigger one a Clubman!!

Will have to see how I go as I have such short legs!!

MrsB2019x · 29/03/2021 07:04

Morning all, hope you had a lovely weekend!

We took the plunge and bought our pushchair last night 😬 it was on offer £175 off, I wanted to wait until after the scan on Wednesday but typically the offer ends tomorrow 😒 can’t wait to test it out prancing around my garden 😂

Is anyone else suffering from leg cramps at night? I had about 3 during the night and it’s driving me mad! Any tips on how to relieve/prevent them? My legs feel so stiff today ☹️

lucyrp · 29/03/2021 07:45

@MrsB2019x ooo which one did you go for ??

I had just about got my sleeping pattern sorted and baby movements pattern and then the clocks had to go and move forward didn't they 😭😭😭

MrsB2019x · 29/03/2021 08:21

@lucyrp We’ve gone for the Cosatto Giggle 3, we need something lightweight and easy collapsible and that seems to be perfect! Clocks moving forward has screwed me over a bit too ☹️

lucyrp · 29/03/2021 09:21

@MrsB2019x ooo very nice which pattern ?? I've found it really difficult I'd just about sorted a good nights sleep and now 7am comes around and I'm only just waking up and I normally wake up fine at 6am 🥺

Carefree1 · 29/03/2021 09:24

Oh no @biscuitcat! Sounds like you took quite a tumble, hope you’re feeling better soon! I’m hoping it’s just something I’ve pulled or growing, thank you for sharing ☺️.
Thanks @PurplePansy05, I’ve left a message this morning. Hopefully she’ll tell me I’m being over dramatic 😂.

How exciting @MrsB2019x sounds like a good deal too! I’ve been tempted by the silver cross furniture ‘deal’, but haven’t succumbed yet xx

BertieBotts · 29/03/2021 09:27

The modern minis are a bit bigger than the 80s ones though, aren't they? Maybe if you have short arms you might struggle! But it's not something I've heard people mention these days.

I love the cosatto prams, so pretty!

PurplePansy05 · 29/03/2021 09:41

Ladies btw I booked a virtual nursery appointment with JL and if you do so and are a JL member you get 10% or 15% off on baby stuff depending on the value, have a look on their website. Thought this might be helpful if anyone is looking to buy the big things from them, sign up for both now xx

Alittlexmasmagic · 29/03/2021 09:57

@PurplePansy05 also sign up to Boots Parenting Club if you haven't already. You get 10 points back per £ on baby items, so the equivalent to 10%.
Interestingly Boots also now do household appliances (powered by AO) so if you need a new fridge etc, you can get a tonne of points back in those too. One appliance might pay back enough points for a breast pump etc x

Oh and my favourite tip. Create a new outlook email address for any sign ups related to baby stuff that you wouldn't want in your normal inbox (especially if you're doing baby events/fairs). Easy to find what you want but saves trawling through so much spam x

Carefree1 · 29/03/2021 10:46

Really good tips for getting points and discounts! Good point about the email address @Alittlexmasmagic - I remember all the junk when planning the wedding. A separate email was the only way forward.

I’ve spoken to midwife, who then referred me to OAU and they were not concerned. They said that baby will be putting on a lot of weight and growing quickly over the next couple of weeks, so all normal. Felt silly, but rather be sure! Xx

MrsB2019x · 29/03/2021 10:53

@lucyrp We’ve gone for Fika Forest ☺️ Still pretty but understated! Wanted something neutral too so we can keep it for the next one

@Carefree1 I haven’t succumbed to it either although I’m sure I will! We need to get our bedroom renovated first then we can do baby’s room

@Alittlexmasmagic The Boots parenting club is a game changer! I’ve managed to stash up £47 in points so far. Kinda annoying that you can’t use them as part payment though 😒

LyraShaeLilly · 29/03/2021 12:39

@PurplePansy05

I was sooo looking forwards to doing this at JL but my 2 nearest stores are in the 5 that is closing down.

They have 10% off on the pram i want atm so just waiting for the £100 from their nursery voucher then will buy online I think.

PurplePansy05 · 29/03/2021 12:53

@LyraSharLilly But the appointments are virtual atm. I'm doing mine with an adviser from the Bristol store even though I'm in Cardiff (Cardiff doesn't offer virtual appts). So you don't need to go anywhere, you can book it and if you're a member, you'll get a discount to use in store or online as I understand it. xx

PurplePansy05 · 29/03/2021 12:53

@LyraShaeLilly Sorry I was meant to tag you in my post above but misspelt xx
