Re movements this is exactly how they started for me, with tiny flutters and then feeling pulse in my stomach, that's precisely how they felt to me. It's true that you can feel actual pulse in stomach in pregnancy (your own) but I've been googling this because I wasn't always convinced if it was pulse/movements. Am positive it's early movements because this feeling soon started appearing in various locations. Now I can definitely tell he is moving, he's turning and I can feel him loads! xx

LyraShaeLilly · 26/03/2021 21:25

@HopefulB

That's interesting about the heartbeat I wonder if thats what I am feeling/hearing as I often think that is sooo fast how can it be my heartbeat!!

MrsB2019x · 27/03/2021 00:03

My movements are about 2 inches below my belly button and always in the middle, never at the sides 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not sure if that’s normal!

lucyrp · 27/03/2021 06:29

Re movements I'm sure I'm feeling them all over the place, I felt them at the sides more first and now I feel them under my belly button but also sides too!

PurplePansy05 · 27/03/2021 07:46

@MrsB2019x It's probably where she is! 🥰And probably not where your placenta is so you can feel her more. At 20 weeks they were scanning me quite high up the bump, a lot around the belly button.

Sooo ladies, we've just bit the bullet and ordered a nursery set 🙈 Having researched a lot and trying to spend less than the standard £600 or so, I found this: www.very.co.uk/little-acorns-portofino-cot-bed-dresser-and-single-wardrobe-white/1600239854.prd?sku=sku20507081 and this is what we went for. I like the flexibility it offers with the cot. Dresser and drawers are decent width and the wardrobe set up is also good for little clothes. Very pleased with the total price. We also have a couple of IKEA Kallax units anyway which we will now use for baby stuff storage and a wooden white toy box which I've upcycled, so I'd say that's way more than he'll need for a while! I hope the set is going to look ok, will report back once it arrives. xx

Jessicapebbles · 27/03/2021 07:56

Starting to feel a pattern of movements over here too, mainly and the sides and low down as my placenta is at the front. I felt her with my hand for the first time last night which was really exciting!

@PurplePansy05 That looks really nice 😍 my MIL has bought me a next to me cot but that’s all we’ve sorted so far! I’ll buy a couple of new outfits but think I’ll wash Darcy’s old baby grows about a week before baby is due 😂

PurplePansy05 · 27/03/2021 08:02

Thanks @Jessicapebbles 🤞 I've concluded as long as the set offers flexibility in terms of mattress position, converts to a toddler bed and has reasonable storage, it totally does the job for me!

Which next to me do you have? Is it an actual full size cot or a crib? That's next on the list, but I would love the shops to open to see them. I've not actually been near any IRL 🙈 xx

Jessicapebbles · 27/03/2021 08:06

@PurplePansy05. We got this one. thepudstore.com/products/kinderkraft-neste-air-wood/

It goes up to 6 months I believe! After that we will be moving her in to her own room (if she sleeps as well as her sister did!)

PurplePansy05 · 27/03/2021 08:47

@Jessicapebbles That's an amazing price! From what I looked most of them seem to cater for 0-6 months or 9kg, here's hoping they don't grow out of them too fast! 🙈 I'll be looking for something stone/beige although it doesn't seem to be the "in" colour now xx

Jessicapebbles · 27/03/2021 08:50

@PurplePansy05 it’s not a bad price is it?! Hopefully it’s good although it seems to do everything I need it to.

Yeah I know what you mean about size weight etc, my first was absolutely tiny so she lasted ages in her Moses basket that we used for her.

I’ve been told I’m destined for small babies due to my crohns so maybe I might get good use out of this one too xx

Daffodil21 · 27/03/2021 09:52

@PurplePansy05 lovely set and lovely that you're getting prepared! I spent yesterday afternoon clearing out my drawers and moving the small amount of clothes that actually fit me to a smaller set. I also washed all the baby clothes I bought the otter day (which was a lot!) so after a bit of rearranging in rooms the clothes and other bits we've started to buy will go in my old drawers. They're actually supposed to be for children anyway - we got it off marketplace years ago for £30 - it's an Aspace one which sells for £670 normally! We also ordered a changing unit and child's wardrobe off marketplace which will be delivered this weekend.

It still doesn't feel real?!!

LyraShaeLilly · 27/03/2021 10:23

We are off work next week and will be spending it sorting out the nursery to be which is a dumping ground ATM!!!

PurplePansy05 · 27/03/2021 10:57

@Daffodil21 I know, but DH quite rightly said we're more than halfway there and the second half always goes quicker, it's like waiting for Christmas - come September and you think, oh now it's Halloween, Bonfire and Christmas and it's true. This is the equivalent of where we are now 🙈 We've decided to order some basic stuff and built it, then store in the garage. This way everything will be ready to put in our bedroom and nursery once the renovation of these two rooms is completed, it will save us some stress later lol! xx

Daffodil21 · 27/03/2021 11:07

@PurplePansy05 I really hope the next few months go quickly! I know I should enjoy this time, and I am trying to, but I'd be a lot happier if he was here and all was well! We've decided to just go with it and just try to enjoy it now and hope for the best! House reno sounds exciting! Thankfully we've got most of that behind now and the things that are left can wait. We won't be changing the spare room decoration as it already has safari wallpaper in it anyway 😂

biscuitcat · 27/03/2021 12:10

@Inmypjsagain no definitely not money - they have pots of the stuff! I think just a real lack of understanding about what's reasonable - she's very used to getting her own way and not at all happy that throwing her toys out the pram hasn't worked like usual!

@Hoares3 vaccine update! They had no problem at all with me being pregnant but annoyingly because I'd had the whooping cough jab on Tuesday I couldn't have it 🙄 you can't do two in a week as if there are side effects they need the gap to know which jab caused them or they risk condemning a whole batch (so annoying but understandable! Though irritatingly I did try to check this is advance and there was no info anywhere saying about that) - so I need to rebook for next week.

Hoares3 · 27/03/2021 14:09

@biscuitcat thank you for the update I am going to get rebooked in I think just want to get it done now and feel safer now I'm over 20 weeks

Alittlexmasmagic · 27/03/2021 15:08

Just been offered my Covid vaccine but then refused it when I mentioned I was pregnant. Will check with consultant when I see him and then book in x

OP posts:
lucyrp · 27/03/2021 16:20

@biscuitcat that's odd as I was offered my flu and whooping cough on the same day!

biscuitcat · 27/03/2021 17:00

@lucyrp how odd! Maybe because the covid jab is very new so they're still learning about some side effects?

Smurf123 · 27/03/2021 18:04

I got my flu and whooping cough in the same day when I was pregnant with ds... Would guess it's just as they don't know covid jab side effects fully?

Carefree1 · 28/03/2021 10:51

Happy Sunday ladies, hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.
I’ve been a bit uncomfortable for a couple of days, especially when I stand up it almost feels like I’ve done sit ups. Do you think I should be worried? Xx

lucyrp · 28/03/2021 13:44

Such an active baby last night and today! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jessicapebbles · 28/03/2021 14:10

Had my vaccine this morning, I had the Oxford! I feel fine 🥰 midwife on Tuesday so I’ll ask if she can check the heartbeat to keep my mind at rest!

lucyrp · 28/03/2021 14:58

@Jessicapebbles glad you're feeling fine, although I will say wait until about 10-12 hours has passed and that's when the effects usually kick in 😬😅

Jessicapebbles · 28/03/2021 15:16

@lucyrp Yeah I’m fully expecting to feel a little rough over the next couple of days 😂 paracetamol is at the ready! Baby has been kicking away this afternoon which is nice and reassuring! Xx
