Berry - Lots more labour vibes coming your way.
Glad to know that my digestive discomfort is not in vain.

I'm not due for another three weeks but I don't think this LO is going to hang about. I feel so calm relaxed and ready. Physically I feel like warmed up poo but I'm not all that bothered about it. I love happy hormones.

Iris - gorgeous pics. I want one.

RGPargy · 08/11/2007 11:59

LOM - i'm with you, in that i'm ready and calm about baby now. i dont think she'll be in there for nearly 3 more weeks!

Silk and Choudru - CONGRATULATIONS. This is all so exciting!

And Berry - sounds like you might be next, and what amazing timing your baby has, waiting for you to be in your fab new home. By the way, I am sure I have read that staying upright and active during early labour can help to move things along, so perhaps that is why you are feeling the need to do things round the house?

I am feeling a LOT better today, particularly as DH was rather scathing to our guests last night about the doc we saw at the hospital. It was really nice to feel he was on-side!

RG - that scan is incredible - you are so lucky to have such a brilliant picture of your little girl . I hope you are going to be putting your feet up as per instructions in front of that enormous new TV...

Choc - funnily enough I haven't been offered a sweep yet - perhaps I should ask for one (particularly if they aren't all that bad). Hope you are now recovered from your fall by the way - what a shock!

JARM - glad I made you laugh, even if it was only temporary relief from the mood swings. Funnily enough I am starting to feel on less of an even keel, and I don't have any older children to deal with. I think you are doing amazingly!

Mini - can't believe your baby could already be 8 lbs with 3 weeks to go - I am hoping for your sake that they are a bit over, or that it arrives soon!

Revel - My sister (a MW) also said that whilst it isn't usual for first babies to fail to engage well in advance there are a fairly significant minority that don't - and I shouldn't be worrying about it. I suppose I just can't believe a professional could have so little idea how vague and unreliable most of these "facts" they are spouting are!! By the way - I can't believe you have put on so little weight - I am a good 2 1/2 stone more than normal

LOM - fish pie was fab thanks, and enormously comforting! I've got leftovers - could bring them to that DVD watching session !!

IRIS - I love "can'tbearsedness" - think I will be adopting that!

Right - got to try to think of something to do for the rest of the day other than looking at the AMAZING baby pictures appearing on here

revelyell · 08/11/2007 12:05

congratulations silk and choudru! and berry, sounds like youre next!! so exciting

im due a week today and we are still completely clueless about names. nothing sticks, we had Luca for a while until DP decided that was going to be too common (as in popular!) .. dont ask, he likes 'spike' and 'hunter'. ffs.

and i cant think of any that i like much at all! maybe id better get 'boggle' out or something and make up my own..!

Minicooper · 08/11/2007 12:15

FCH - glad you're feeling better today - in fact very impressed with your positivity when you're a week over your due date. An inspiration to us all! Good that your DH is being supportive too. Hmm, you think 8lb sounds heavy for 37 weeks too... Esp as my DH is Chinese so I was counting on a tiny, dainty oriental baby with a teeny weeny head!!! And I don't think I'm THAT huge - I've gained about 2 stone - that's fairly normal, isn't it????

RGPargy · 08/11/2007 12:29

FCH - thanx, it's a great picture, even if i do say so myself! I will deffo be putting my feet up when the TV finally arrives!! I dont feel i can do anything til it's here in case i dont hear the door bell! And we all know how loud washing the dishes can be, dont we?

So glad your DH was on your side last night. You are deffo an inspiration!

Revel - lol @ spike and hunter! They sound like dogs names! I REALLY hope no one on here has those names for their DCs now.....

Mini - 2 stone is about average i think. That's what i've put on too.

Afternoon all

CONGRATULATIONS CHOUDRU!!!! YAY!!!! Yet another girl - but at least our boys can pick and choose!

Been busy busy busy this morning, tidying, cleaning, decorating, you name it! Just trying to keep myself busy tostop me wallowing in self-pity for too much longer. Was so hormotional last night, it was awful, and then as a result didnt sleep very well.

Also coming down with this cold now so hoping being busy will stop it coming to too much.... the thought of labouring with a stinking cold is just too much!

revelyell · 08/11/2007 12:36

I know RG. i think he might be having me on about 'hunter'. its hard to tell sometimes. however nothing can dissuade him that 'spike' isnt the height of cool. he keeps referencing spike jonze.. and before i know it, im saying, well spike off've buffy was quite hot... and... and...
BUT NO. really. it borders on child abuse.
oh help! anyone got any nice boys names that theyre not using for themselves? something that a million other people wont be calling their kids this year...
wish i was having a girl! i know exactly what i would call a girl!

JARM · 08/11/2007 12:38

my fave boys name are quite traditional though!

We are naming this little one Daniel James but my other faves are

Cameron
Connor
Matthew
Thomas
Adam

Minicooper · 08/11/2007 12:42

I like traditional boys names too - this one will be either Joseph or Daniel - still up for discussion, lol! I also like

Jude
Joel
Toby

All of which my DH refuses to contemplate. For more unusual ones, my friend has a Caleb and a Reuben.

revelyell · 08/11/2007 12:47

you know what, i really like jude. except that jude law ruins it for me. what if everyone thought i was some sad sack who wanted to name my son after jude law cos i fancied him?!

i like cameron though, thats on the long list..

We are having Reuben for a boy and Anabel or Louisa for a girl.

My other names I liked are
Luke- My sister used that for her little boy 4 months ago
Ryan
Andre

Girls
Stella
Lily
Mikyla

Names are so hard. My DH vitos most of my ideas but has thought of none himself. Very frustrating!

I'm feeling much better now I went to antenatal this morning and we have all arranged to carry on meeting each thursday morning for coffee and cake so that will be great. There are really nice people. I was worried that I'd be loads older or different than the other girls but I was actually younger than others and everyone is lovely.

Easywriter · 08/11/2007 14:05

Ooh ooh! Here, here, me.

You know how I love to blab about names.
MArnie is obviously our girls name choice but we're up for a Daniel too (DP has loved the name since he was a teenager and I'm a fan too) but since we've been so definately told she's a girl we're (I'm not) toying with... Hunter.

After Hunter S. Thompson who we both loved/love.

I also love the 'angel' names Gariel, Rafael etc for boys but my friend who's big in the opera world claims they're all gay names (not that I have a problem with that at all).

G*d! I'd love a little boy (in addition to 3 girls you understand), I'm so greedy.

Anyway,

Berry - Welcome back sweetie. Good to know your waters have gone. When you get to hospital ask for a birthing ball (and use it).
You can have all your vaginal examinations on it. You'll be upright, your pelvis will still be in an optimal position for birthing your baby, you can move (roll your hips around , all you need to do is make sure you have movement in your pelvic area to maximise your chance of an active birth) AND you can do all this having had an epidural.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! to Choudru and Silk. It really is wonderful stuff. I don't know about everyone else buut I feel a bit tearful (with hapiness) everytime someone on this thread has a baby. Lovely!

RG - Your TV sounds ace, so if Choudru brings the cake we can all steam round to yours to watch a movie right?

So, my birth pool is up, I occasionally get bouts of feeling horrifically sick too(though I haven't been yet), I've got crampy feelings. (I'm measuring big (42 today at 39+4) but still have the medics support to birth at home). I'm so happy.
Good luck to everyone else.
Those of you bad, bad ladies who haven't posted any photo's of your latest little people... don't make me come round there!!

Pixie - It sounds like baby blues. It should pass. Just focus on you and your family and drop all the surplus (by surplus I mean the everyday stuff like cleaning). Just enjoy being together!

mrsjetson · 08/11/2007 14:05

Many Congrats to Silk and Choudru!!!!! I think Silk is the only person I've ever 'known' to have delivered on her due date!

Now 40 +1 had a sweep this morning, ouch. Apparently all looks favourable ........ IYKWIM! The MW felt the baby's head which sent shivers down my spine just knowing how close she is to being here. Every little niggle now I'm thinking...here we go, but I'm still here!!

Induction booked for the 15th which I shall try and avoid at all costs - if possible!!

I'm going to indulge in my last lot of chocolate this evening - last night I resorted to the kids treats!

Hopefully be posting an announcement soon xx

Easywriter · 08/11/2007 14:10

Blimey Mrs Jetson, that's pretty super news.

Spontanoeus labour vibes winging their way to you now.

RGPargy · 08/11/2007 14:47

Jarm - FGS you're at it again, aren't you!!! I've only just managed to do the dishes and make a sarnie! Hope you feel better soon and get a better night's sleep. I slept pants too last night so i sympathise!

Revel - poor you with the name dilema!! My DS has a nice traditional name - Adam James - so feel free to use them.

Loopy - It's not me that's getting excited about the new telly! It's all down to DP, although i didn't put up too much of a fight because the one we have now is absolutely huuuuuuge, but only from the front to the back (depth). The screen size itself is only about 30 inches i think. It'll be nice to have a sleek streamlined TV tht doesn't stick out half a mile lol.

Fiona - we were contemplating having Lily too but then it suddenly dawned on me that people might think i had named my daughter after Lily Allen (who i CANNOT stand!!) so i wrote that off pretty quickly!

Easy - oooopssss re Hunter!! I think you should all pile round here with cake and new babies and watch my new TV (plus surround sound!). You are good putting your pool up! I haven't even checked mine yet because it said on the packet that once you open it, you cannot return it. Now i've had the scan tho, it's all systems go so i will open it tonight and make sure it fits in the front room where we want it lol.

Mrs J - Good luck!! Labour vibes coming your way!!

JARM · 08/11/2007 16:15

WEll I tired myself out a little too much and am just up after 2hrs in bed- oooh im so norty!

Feeling well and truly awful though - keep coming over all sick and shakey and like I need to lie down before I fall down.... now, where is the Spatone for my iron levels?! Im sure thats the problem!

Hope you all had a good day, and sending out positive labour vibes to all those who are so close.

RGP - shall we start the "OH FFS GET THIS BABY OUT NOW" thread yet?! LOL

littleoldme · 08/11/2007 16:31

Fiona - I love Rueben too but Dh won't hear of it. There is only one name we both agree on so dunno what happens if we ever have another boy.

Rev - I know what you mean about spike. I have a human friend called Spike and a K9 friend called Spike. I don't think it's a good name for an adult man who wants to taken seriously My fave boys name is Evan but DH doesn't like it.

Mrs J - Hope the sweep works. Not long now. Ohhhhhhhh excitied.

Easy - love your name options. Oh and I get all teary too.

Jarm - Choose thread title with care. The June peeps called one of their threads something like that and received some most indignant posts. Sad I know but some people have nothing better to do.

Right time to Deal or no Deal. It's about as much mental stimulation as I can take at the mo.

fiona76 · 08/11/2007 17:38

Easy- I bought a birthing ball on the weekend and have been bouncing on it to help LO become engaged. I am sitting on it now to type is there anything else I can do to help speed this process up?? You seem to know a bit about it.

I am so proud I just had a bath cause I was feeling achy and rubbish and I managed to shave my own legs!!! At 39 weeks thats not a bad effort I think. I was quite popped after and they are pretty patchy but all and all a good job done all round.

Just caught up on Kitchen Nightmares today what a good one that chef was mad and the boss lady a spoilt so and so. Loving Gordan sigh.

nowt to report here - thought things we kicking off earlier, but then had a big poo and its all stopped again!

I did this with DD2 - 2 weeks of on-off pains. I WILL NOT OVER-ANALYSE THIS TIME!

FCH · 08/11/2007 20:15

Evening all!

Loopy - I'm not sure I'll go quite that far! I have a feeling that by this time next week I might well be really pretty fed up and decide that anything is better than being pregnant any longer. On the bright side I am optimistic that having bought myself an extra week it won't be a problem as the baby is obviously going to cooperate and turn up by then!

Right - well - if Berry hasn't got any more news I am off to attempt to interest myself in the new white company cataloge without spending any money!!!

RGPargy · 08/11/2007 20:22

Jarm - glad to see you had a kip after all that activity! Are you eating enough during the day etc? Even if its little and often picking at bits. If you eat nothing, your bloody sugar levels could drop which could make you feel a bit wibbly.

LOL @ the get out now thread.

Fiona - well done on shaving your legs!! I keep thinking about it but then realise that it's too much for me to manage these days!

Well the big f*ck off TV and surround sound is now set up and looking rather erm..... LARGE.... in the front room! The old TV stand now looks huuuuge in comparison and is soooo wide (in a depth way!).

DP very much loves his new toy!!

Have a good evening peeps!
