am I meant to write my full birth story somewhere?

sparklygothkat · 13/11/2007 17:03

have googled it all (lack of weight gain, green greasy stools) and its pointing towards Cystic Fibrosis, which I am praying it isn't.. please let it not be that..

JARM · 13/11/2007 17:08

Sparkly, are the docs saying anything at all? What is the next step for Callum? Worried about you sweetie xxx

RGP - You are NOT to have that baby before me! I forbid it!

Silk - there is a topic called Birth Announcements or you can just write it here for us!

sparklygothkat · 13/11/2007 17:10

SCBU outreach nurse is going to see the doctor tomorrow, and see what he thinks. we are seeing him next week.

littleoldme · 13/11/2007 17:26

Sparkly - Sorry you've not had great news today . Must be a v anxious wait for you. Load of love xx

RG - Chemist sounds like abit of a nobber. Hope you got the Gaviscon in the end.
My NCT teacher reckoned I'd have my baby the weekend - low bump, big nesting VERY hormonal etc. Let's have a race

Silk - Sounds you had a really positive experience. Really glad all is well.

Revell - I think some Moby would be good labouring music.

My boobs are blummin well killimg me today. Anyone suggest anything to help ? Please!!!

sparklygothkat · 13/11/2007 17:37

I am so scared. he still haven't grown into his skin and all skin and bones. I know something is wrong..

JARM · 13/11/2007 18:15

Sparkly, take him to the docs tomorrow sweetheart. Make thme listen and get tests done.

He will pick up on your stress and worry and thats no good for him either.

Keep us updated xxx

littleoldme · 13/11/2007 18:36

Oh Sparkly I'm with JARM on this one. Time for some serious footstamping. Those who shout loudest get stuff first.

Try not to loose sight of everything you are coping with at the mo. The very fact that you up, about and functioning is amazing. Big hugs and much respect.

RGPargy · 13/11/2007 19:00

Sparkly, i agree with JARM and LOM. Kick up some serious fuss and get him seen ASAP. Next week just wont do! Try not to fret, luv. Very hard, i know.

Silk - you dont have to write your birth story anywhere if you dont want to, but it's lovely to read the story of what happened.

Jarm - i am not responsible for my (or my baby's) actions when it comes to childbirth!

LOM - Yes the chemist was a nobber! I ended up buying some in Asda in the end. I just really dont want to traipse down to the doctor's surgery with a LETTER asking for a prescription for bloody Gaviscon!! Sorry your boobs are sore today. I have no idea how to ease them i'm afraid! Hope they feel better soon.

DP is now up in the nursery sorting out the working needed to the window area so that we can hang the nets which arrived today (hooray!) and then put the curtain rail up and hang the curtains. That'll certainly make it look more homely and more like a room!! Yay!!

Oh and Terry's White Chocolate Oranges are LOVELY. Be warned!!!!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 13/11/2007 19:19

Terry's do a white chocolate orange???? Why was not informed of this earlier? >

RGPargy · 13/11/2007 19:21

lol LOM!!! I vaguely remember seeing an advert for the "snow ball" on the telly last night. Then whilst i was in Woolworths today, i just happened to wander past the choc section and lo and behold, there was a white choc orange and a toffee crunch choc orange!! They were selling 3 for £4.50 so it would have been rude not to oblige........

yes, the appointment is on the 20th. The SCBU is going to speak to the consultant tomorrow and phone me back, I hope he will see Callum before next week

JARM · 13/11/2007 21:04

Evening all!

Well, have done the RL tea, done the pineapple, DH is on hand for the you know what (he is loving it bless him - things have been a bit slack in that area these past few months!) and who knows, maybe something will kick off!

Antenatal was uneventful - Doc confirmed I cant take anything other than paracetemol for this stinking cold.... grrrrr! Baby has "unengaged" himself - i tell ya, im gonna have to have strong words with this one, stubborn little blighter!

Right - to liven things up - what are all you ladies most scared of over the next few weeks?!

Ill give you my list in order!

Breastfeeding - 2 failed attempts so far, want this to be 3rd time lucky

Tearing - no need for stitches for the last 2, but I know he is a lot bigger than the girls, so Im freaking over the chances of tearing

Sibling Rivalry - I guess its to be expected, but Im worried my 3yr old and 2yr old are going to be VERY jealous.

RGPargy · 13/11/2007 21:13

Loopy - ooo good thinking re the water thermostat! I wouldn't have thought of that!

Jarm - dont you get too jiggy. My baby is coming before yours, dont forget!

What i'm scared of. Hmm.......

Breastfeeding - that it will hurt!

Sleep - lack of sleep and feeling exhausted to the point of crying.

Baby - that the baby will be a screamer. DS was a screamer for the first six months and i could have quite happily abandoned him in a phone box!!

Tearing - dont want to tear. Had an episiotome with DS although i have no idea why. Just hope i dont tear this time. The stitches hurt more than birth!!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 13/11/2007 22:10

Rg - I agree , it is important to be well mannered

Loopy - I know Lo maybe ages yet , I'm just trying to convince myself he's on his way. The thought of feeling this pants for much longer is not filling me with happiness. You are right though, he's got to come out sometime

What am I scared of

That I'll have a pink squawky thing I won't have clue what to do with.

Lack of sleep - I'm crap when exhausted.

JARM · 13/11/2007 23:07

LOM - ALL babies are little squaky things!! But you will know what to do, because with newborns its easy, you feed, wind, change, try to get to sleep and when all else fails, stick them in pram/car and keep moving!

Sleep wise - I think im used to it now - this is my 3rd in under 3 and a half years, so lack of sleep is something you tend to get used to!

Im having bets with DH over birth weight and date of birth.... Im saying 4th December and 8lbs 7oz, at least that way if it happens earlier i will be happy lol

sparklygothkat · 13/11/2007 23:56

JARM, it will be third time lucky with the BF, think postive remember
RGP and Littleoldme, and everyone else, thanks for the advice, unfortunely I am at the hospital tomorrow with Dd1 so will not be able to take Callum to the GPs.
I am used to babies that have problems (Ds1 and Dd1 have cerebral palsy) so if it is something serious I will cope, but I am praying its not CF,please let it be just a blimp.

capecodder · 14/11/2007 09:25

Good Morning Ladies,

Very late start on here today??

SGK- I wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts. I can't begin to imagine how anxious and fearful you're feeling about Callums health. Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

Loopy- You really are a wealth of knowledge! I don't have my next MW appointment until the 22nd and hope not to need that appt. I am due on the 23rd so still have plenty of time but just want to go over it all in my head- just in case.

Good to know that your bump is filthy as well- mine is constantly covered in food. It's like driving a car that's waaay to big and you can't see where the bonnet ends.

What I am afriad of-

Tearing

Lack of sleep- I am no good when I am tired either.

Post Natal Depression

Easywriter · 14/11/2007 09:38

Morning all.

RGP - Just a word of caution if you've got a BPIAB. My MW warned me to put cool/cold water in first to about an inch before adding the hot water as it makes something (sorry if I could remember what I'd be a geni-a*se!) perish and makes your pool leak.

SGK - I hope todays phone call brings good news for you. Try to stay positive honey, thanks to you it's being sorted out as soon as it can. Love and hugs to you and your babe.

Last night I had many many contractions which continue! I've called my sister who'll arrive from Leeds soon and DP is just off to work to put on his out of office sign. I'm so giddy (it better not stop).

TMI alert, think I may have thrush (yep! cold and suspected thrush seemed to appear yesterday) what does it mean? Can I still have my homebirth? Loopy? Don't want to even discuss it with my MW. (I know, she's clearly THE sensible person to discuss it with but I don't want my happy bubble burst yet.)

Silk and Berry - Congratulations on your births, glad to hear all went well.

littleoldme · 14/11/2007 10:26

Jarm - Well if this is your third in three years it can't be that bad

Sparkly - Hope the hosp appts go well with dd1.

Easy - YAY . All the best sweetie. I'm all excited now

sarahloumadam · 14/11/2007 10:44

Morning everyone.

Loopsy thanks for the advice re the nursing bras, will gladly wait cos my pregnancy brain cannot cope with getting fitted for a bra at the mo - pathetic I know! Went shopping for curtains yesterday and just had to come home empty-handed (for the aforementioned hot choc yum ) because I could not work out the measurements etc.

I also have a filthy bump and when I get undressed at night, a selection of my day's food intake falls out of my underwear! Lots of biscuit crumbs .

Easy - hope your contractions continue!

Sparkly - 99.9% of the time Googling leads to unnecessary terror but I can understand why you want answers and I hope it is all a blip and thinking of you.

Little - sorry you are feeling rubbish but the end is in sight! Of course you can have some apple pie, with a big dollop of ice-cream if you wish. It is wrong to plan your life around puddings but I am going to make that Nigella's Eton Mess today. Getting through each day a pudding at a time!

I am scared of (a) the birth (b) the aftermath and (c) the next 18 years + . But on a more postive note I am looking forward to bending in the middle, spending less than 50% of my day on the loo, getting the feeling back in my right hand and a tall, cool vodka and tonic with a slice of lime - bliss.

RGPargy · 14/11/2007 11:02

Morning everyone!

Jarm - three in under three years?!! Blimey! It cant be that bad then can it?! Funny about you saying 4th December for your baby - I have a funny feeling that this one will be a December baby too. I reckon 1st December. If she comes sooner, like you, i'll be really happy!

Sparkly - Hope all goes well at the hospital with DD1. Please dont stress yourself about what it MIGHT be with Callum. Looking up symptons on the net is a really bad idea because it always comes up with worst case scenario situation. The amount of times DP has told me he's looked up stuff on the net and it comes up with some really bizarre things! Try and keep off it luv, and just wait for a proper diagnosis from a human doctor. There's no point worrying about what it COULD be.

Cape - ooooo yeah, i forgot about PND. I'm worried about that too!

Easy - Yay!!!!! Fingers crossed for you!! How exciting!! Keep us informed as long as you are able to string a sentence together on the keyboard!

You'll be pleased to know that i've got the day off painting today (hoorah!!) but alas, i still cannot stick my feet up. I have to do a tip run instead. What joy. Still, DS has to do all the lifting and all i have to do is sit and drive him there and back. Hopefully tomorrow i can sit and watch some DVDs!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

Easy - Ooo yes, thanx for that re the hot water in the BPIAB. I did read on the instructions last night about not putting the hot water in first, so i will deffo be putting some cold in first!

Sarah - i'm with you on the biscuit crumbs. All sorts of crumbs just all fall out of my bra tho.

I'd also love to bend in the middle and i really cannot wait to be able to have a couple of very LARGE glasses of vino!!!!

Hey girls

Am over at my dads so we can all be poorly together, and DH is at the JobCentre for his work focused interview (even though doc has signed him off until further notice!)

Another really trivial thing that is terrifying me is BOY nappies! I mean, ive never done a boy nappy - there's extra "bits" to contend with!!!

DD1 is 3.4yrs, DD2 is 2.1yrs and I will have a newborn, so no, its not all that bad, but believe me, DD2 was a happy mistake!!!

I love newborns though - tend to go off them at about 6-9mnths and get back into them at 18yrs!!!
