@Champson Birthday buddies 🥳 my MIL birthday is the 5th March,rams I always have to stress about what to get her as DH is clueless before I can enjoy mine aha!

Haha aw thanks @MrsB2019x, like I said my looks are totally random now, whatever fits and whatever isn't packed for the move yet! I'm a big fan of M&S tights, I find they are still comfy in my usual medium size which is great.

I'm thinking whether to book a scan next month, I have my MW appointment, physio appointment and consultant appointment next week, and the completion, so I don't want anything more tbh! But maybe second week of March? I thought the gap between 12 and 20 weeks would be very long but actually it's flying by! Is anyone thinking about getting a private scan just for reassurance (not necessarily to check the gender) before their 20 week scan? xx

@PurplePansy05 I’m finding the time is dragging - I’m finally starting to feel a bit better but because I’m not really showing yet I’m starting to wonder if I dreamed the whole thing! I think I probably will get a scan around 16 weeks just to get some extra reassurance and break up the gap. DH really wants to know the sex so that’s enough to persuade him to cough up

I always find it weird how birthdays cluster. I'm fortunate in that I don't share mine with any family or friends (DH is ALWAYS silaging, an entirely different grumble) but August is littered with so many that I know, including (touch wood) both my children x

@Jessicapebbles ours is at 2:30! Aww lovely age. Mines 4. Shes certain she has a sister on the way, so I'm hoping she won't be too disappointed if we have a boy! 🙈 I feel like times really dragged since the 12 week scan! Xx

@WhatEvenIsSleep It’s so exciting isn’t it?! Awww 4 year olds are lovely! We really feel like it’s a boy, but not fussed either way! Yeah it’s another 4 weeks until my 20 week scan and I just can’t deal with that wait! What date are you due? Xx

@PurplePansy05 I'm thinking about getting w scan at around 18 weeks between hearing the heartbeat at 16 weeks and my scan at 20 weeks but not sure yet

@Jessicapebbles aww I've had a lot of boy guesses! But we're the same, happy either way. I've not got my 20 week scan date through yet so wanted to book this one to break the wait up.. due 2nd of august, how about you? Xx

We’re due on the 5th August but I have to have a c section so they have said it will be 30th/31st July! Xx

@lucyrp That's exactly what I'm thinking too. We're very lucky to have a super friendly private clinic and tbh it's such a pleasure to go, and growth scans in 2nd & 3rd trimesters are only £60. I think I'll do it.

Ladies, I've ordered some books from Amazon, I spent some time last week trawling through various reviews and thinking what DH and I might find helpful and I've picked these. I am going to go through some of them probably in the next few weeks (or at least the initial chapters), happy to report back 😊 So far they look good, I read few pages of each now. xx

Also got myself the Calpol plug, hello de-congestion! Thank you again to those of you who recommended it, I would have never thought of that 😘 xx

I had my scan today, all ok but no NT measurement so will hope for the best, added myself to the bottom of the list. Has everyone had their scans now?

Aww lovely bump @lucyrp & @PurplePansy05 🥰. I’m envious of all you ladies with a bump. I’ve nothing at all yet 😞 I hardly feel pregnant now, but trying not to worry.

I’m finding time at a standstill! My 16 week appointment isn’t until nearly 18 weeks, so that’s 11th March and my 20 week scan isn’t until 1st April. I’m definitely going to book in a reassurance scan in March some time xx

@Jessicapebbles can I ask, did you opt for an elective section? Sorry if that’s too intrusive to ask and tell me to mind my business!! I had a section last time and don’t know whether they will offer me another one or try for a vbac.

@Magik01 No don’t worry at all, I’m quite happy to talk about it. I have quite severe Crohn’s disease and have had numerous bowel surgery’s so I’m just not allowed to give birth naturally unfortunately! I had a really good experience with my last section so I’m very happy to have the same again. Xx

@PurplePansy05 love the books! We are really lucky to have a local library. You can’t browse atm but you can reserve items and collect, or ask for a click and collect of up to 4 items in a sepcific subject/theme and the librarians will pick a selection for you.

Hi all 👋🏻 I’ve been lurking for a while but too scared to post until I had my scan today. I’m 13 weeks 2 days due 24th august. It’s my 4 th baby but my others are 12, 16, 17 so a big gap! Still feeling very nauseous which I’ve never had before! I’d love to be added to the list now I’ve had my scan. They struggled to get my NT measurement but did get one eventually so I’m hoping my blood come back ok, although I’m 38 and had high risk result last time when I was only 25 so prepared for the call!

@LyraShaeLilly Congratulations, that's brilliant news! 💐 Are you going back for the measurements/leaving it till the quad test later or not checking at all?

I'm immersed in these books tonight, it's so lovely to be able to read them. My nesting mode is certainly on, can't wait for the new house and the renovation so I can make it lovely and cosy before he arrives 💙 xx

MW explained that we can have a downs blood test at 16 weeks which we will have and the pateus and edwards will be done via visual at 20 week scan so we will wait until then.

We considered getting the private NIPT test but feel another 8 weeks isn't that far away and the NT on the 12 week scan only used to be given to mothers that were over 40, so these options weren't available to our parents so just going to wait and see. My mum didn't have any of these tests (29 years ago) and said she would have coped whatever the outcome (and she had twins) and I feel thats the strategy we want to take.

@Jessicapebbles ahhh okay then, glad you had a good experience last time! I’ve got a phone appointment in March which I’m assuming is to discuss either a section or vbac. I had a really bad experience last time but then I’ve been readying and 25% of vbacs end in ECS anyway which scares me!
