Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

Lol love that you guys have Easter eggs. I think I’ll have to get some on the weekend. How often do you guys pee? Sorry I know it’s tmi but just wondering obv I’d love to put my ten trips to the toilet down as a pregnancy symptom so just wondered. Xxx

vitaminb33 · 04/03/2021 20:29

Aw thank you for the guidance @Pancakes7 @PumpkinEverything and @MrsTD88. I've watched some comedy with dinner (Superstore) which was very calming.

I'm glad to see so many others are obsessed with Easter eggs! I think I've already bought and eaten around 4 since they came back into shops 😅

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 20:30

@Pancakes7 @Firevie she’s a good girl 😂 I just can’t help myself, they’re only 99p in Asda 😂🙈 i ended up having a muller chocolate fix with some berries so I could at least feel a bit better about it, will see how long that tides me over!
I feel like I have been peeing around 10 times in a day but I’m honestly not sure if that’s how much I usually go or not 😂😂 it felt like I went more times than usual today; but I had a takeaway coffee and for some reason they normally make me need to pee more?! I also had 1.5 litres of water and a bowl of cereal with milk, so I’ve had a fair amount of liquid. I’ve been trying to stop myself drinking from around 8/830 to try to let me not have to go during the night, and then this probably makes me sound weird, but when I’m going to bed I go for a pee, then brush my teeth, and then go again to make sure it all came out 😂😂 does seem to be working! Obviously if I’m thirsty I will have a drink, but I just try to have enough liquids before that if possible.

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 20:31

Oh that’s on my list to watch @vitaminb33 are you enjoying it? We’ve a few episodes of Kim’s convenience left and that’s next 😊
And yes, I love Easter egg season 😂 chocolate tastes nicer in egg form!

JRH4622 · 04/03/2021 20:41

Hey Ladies! I hope you are all well! Thank you for starting this group, I'm 5wks+1 today but due to my short cycle I got my positive test at 3wks! I have had 3 MCs and no children YET but I am so hopeful! xx

JRH4622 · 04/03/2021 21:07

@Toastedsesame this is one of the threads that might be of interest!

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 21:24

@Firevie @PumpkinEverything I need the loo a lot too it is definitely a symptom but I'm also drinking a lot.

@vitaminb33 I love superstore! I binge watched it recently.

I might need to buy an Easter egg now! lol

Welcome @JRH4622 . I'm sorry for your losses. Congratulations on your BFP . Fingers crossed for you. I'm glad you've found our thread. Lots of support here.

A week today 🤞🏻🌈 Feeling anxious. Also feeling sick. But keeping thoughts positive as much as I can.

Welcome @JRH4622 Congratulations and sorry for your previous losses. Were you referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic after your third loss?

@Pancakes7 Totally get the anxious feeling counting down to the next scan. A week feels like forever doesn't it? Oh, and I forgot to ask. How does the furlough extension affect you? I'm guessing that was good news?

Is anyone else struggling with nausea/vomiting? It's been quite debilitating for me this week, and I'm having flashbacks to when I was pregnant with DD and had HG. I was too scared to eat dinner last night, because the nausea/indigestion after lunch was horrible Sad

Pancakes7 · 05/03/2021 08:29

@marplemead I'm even more anxious as this is my first scan. I'm feeling sick most of the time atm but haven't been sick yet. Are you being sick? That's got to be rough. I hope you don't have HG again.

I've heard nothing from my work regarding my return yet. I could be off till end of September then. Might not be much point going back at that point if I'm pregnant 🤞🏻🌈 So yeah good news, but so hard to plan anything. My son starts Nursery in April. I've already delayed his start 3 times. So think I'll just send him in anyway. I think it'll be good for him. It's only 1 day anyway. My Mum would have had him for the other 2 days.

@marplemead thank you! So lovely to be part of this! I was "lucky" that after my 2nd MC plus my age (37) fast tracked me to the EM clinic. They then did 8 months of tests and procedures (fibroids) but when I had my 3rd MC I got genetic testing based on being under the consultant! My 3rd MC was Trisomy 13 and now have a genetic counsellor who did parental blood testing which was fascinating! I have been through the mill but so hopeful! Have you been referred? Hope you are feeling hopeful and well...its such a anxious time! Xx

PumpkinEverything · 05/03/2021 08:50

Welcome @JRH4622 😊 sorry for your losses, fingers crossed this is the one for you!

Firevie · 05/03/2021 08:53

@PumpkinEverything morning! Remind me again when is your scan? How far along are you? What have your symptoms been so far? Xxx

JRH4622 · 05/03/2021 09:05

@PumpkinEverything Thank you, you too! xx

PumpkinEverything · 05/03/2021 09:08

Morning @Firevie 😊 I am 8+4 today, I had a private scan last Tuesday at 7+1 and there was a heartbeat and I was measuring a day ahead. My next scan is Sunday at 10 when I’ll be 8+6 with the EPU as I found out about my MMC at 9 weeks last time (baby stopped at 8)
Symptoms have been the mildest of mild nausea off and on the last few weeks. Boobs have got fuller and bigger and have felt a little bit tender, but not so much this week. Feel a bit tired some days but others I’m fine. Skin broke out quite a lot after my surgical management and hasn’t recovered during pregnancy so think my hormones are crazy. Really very few symptoms for me 🙈

Pancakes7 · 05/03/2021 09:19

I'm really feeling sick today just had to cancel meeting a friend as I know I won't be up to it. Wish I could go back to bed tbh. I've got a work coffee catch up on soon later which I really don't fancy 🙈

marplemead · 05/03/2021 09:49

@JRH4622 I'm glad you've had some answers, and it's lovely that you are able to be positive. I was referred after my third loss, and under consultant care at the RMC now. All my bloods have come back clear, which my consultant tells me is a good thing. It means there is no known reason why this pregnancy won't be a successful one. I'm on 800mg of progesterone and 5mg of folic acid. Are you taking anything extra?

@Pancakes7 I remember feeling really anxious before my first scan. I guess that's normal when you've had a loss, as otherwise I imagine it's really exciting. But do try to remember, the chance of something being wrong is very small. I hope the sickness eases for you soon. And is there any way you could make excuses for the work coffee catch up? Being on furlough until Sept is not too bad, but must be hard not knowing. Are you planning for your DS to go to nursery when you're on maternity leave? Having him start in April would allow him time to settle in - you don't really want to be doing it when the baby is here.

Pancakes7 · 05/03/2021 09:57

@marplemead Yeah I think we will keep him going for the day when/if I'm on maternity leave. I think it'll be good for him. Help with his speech and social skills. I know settling in won't be fun as we started it last December but now will need to start again.

I'm trying to keep positive but it's hard. I just hope this week goes quickly. I really hope I have good news to share on here. 🤞🏻🌈

Hi @PumpkinEverything many thanks for sharing and good luck for Sunday. Will keep my fingers crossed! Similar to you I have just had the sore boobs which are now tender I think and def look fuller. Other than that it’s been fine actually so I’m waiting for the nausea haha I am 7+1 today and have my second scan next Thursday! Happy Friday xxx

JRH4622 · 05/03/2021 10:02

@marplemead that sounds like you are in a great place! Yep I'm on progesterone, folic acid 5mg and blood thinning injections (I have to do them myself once a day...hate that bit as I'm scared on needles but I have to suck it up and crack on)
I am determined to put my rose tinted glasses on this time, stress was a massive issue the last two times and I am trying to stay unnaturally positive...its a daily struggle but I'm 99% convinced I won't fall apart! x

MrsTD88 · 05/03/2021 11:38

@JRH4622 congratulations on your pregnancy and so sorry to hear or your previous losses. I have found this group so helpful and supportive. The ladies here are all amazing. ❤

MrsTD88 · 05/03/2021 11:42

@PumpkinEverything @Firevie my boob tenderness disappeared a few weeks ago, it seems to come and go now every few days. My symptoms now seem to be overwhelming tiredness and having to eat every hour or so to avoid feeling nauseous. I told the Director of my department today, she is so happy for us and has told me to take a lie down whenever I need to. She is not going to tell anyone else until I give her my permission after our NHS scan. Feels so much more real now!

MrsTD88 · 05/03/2021 11:44

@Pancakes7 sorry you are feeling so rubbish today, is there anything that helps your nausea? Crisps seem to do the trick for me at the moment
