Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

@Strawberry08 Oh wow another scan. I'm jealous! lol How lovely to see baby an extra time. Let us know how you get on. Sorry you're feeling so unwell. I've been feeling sick but trying to keep busy going out most days with my son to parks and meeting friends for walks. Definitely wish I could crawl back into bed!

@Pancakes7 my EPU are really lovely and accommodating so I can request them whenever I like really, and when you know they are there available to you, it’s hard not to do them!
It’s not long until yours though. And sorry you’re feeling sick but actually not sorry because that’s a potentially encouraging sign 🤣 gosh I feel you on wanting to crawl into bed. That’s all I want to do at the moment!! Must be hard with a young child to keep going

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 11:42

@Strawberry08 Well I was really unwell last time so who knows. You know you're hormonal when you are getting teary eyed at the grandma on Moana 😂🙈😭

Strawberry08 · 04/03/2021 11:46

@Pancakes7 aww bless you 😂 I know the feeling, I keep getting teary about really random stuff

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 12:07

@Pancakes7 happening to me too. I’ve got teary watching the vampire diaries a few times, even during happy scenes. Also got tears in my eyes yesterday when I heard about Dolly Parton getting the vaccine, and remembering about them wanting to put a statue of her up and and her asking them to put it on hold because of everything else going on. I’d like to add that I am not some huge fan of anything btw, so I have no idea why it made me feel this way 😂😂😂

marplemead · 04/03/2021 14:20

@Pancakes7 I always get really teary at the grandma in Moana!

I've been so nauseous today. Getting through work was a real struggle. I've stolen one of DD's ice lollies and that's helping a bit. I know I need to eat, but just don't fancy anything we have at home.

imisscoffee · 04/03/2021 14:59

@Firevie I'm 8+3, haven't had a scan yet but I've got one booked for next wens after my consultant appointment on Mon.

Also very emotional. My sister-in-law is in labour and my MIL messaged this morning to let us know and I just burst our crying. It wasn't so much happy or sad tears, it was just an outburst. I didn't realise how anxious I was for her too, after losing my baby I fell down the rabbit hole of the babyloss community on Instagram and while it's been really supportive, it's made me aware of so many more ways things can go wrong later on in pregnancy, I don't think I'll relax until October 😳

MrsTD88 · 04/03/2021 15:38

Thank you @PumpkinEverything and @Strawberry08 today has gone so fast, only an hour and a half to go! I have another meeting at 4 so it will be here before I know it, feel so sick at the thought!

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 15:45

@imisscoffee I’m sure you are after what you went through before. I’m too scared to even look at that sort of thing. I’m so focused on trying to get to 12 weeks that I don’t think I can even process anytime after that, but I know I’ll be anxious as well.

I was just thinking that @MrsTD88 not long to go at all! Hopefully your meeting will distract you a bit through this last bit of the wait 😊

vitaminb33 · 04/03/2021 15:46

Good luck @MrsTD88!

Had a bit of a cry today, feeling more pregnant and it's reminding me of my last pregnancy - so I'm just feeling sad about that pregnancy now. Sure I'll be back to stressing about this one tomorrow.

Bellabubble · 04/03/2021 16:22

@MrsTD88 sorry for such a delay in replying (dreaded Ofsted at school today - all remote but still stressful lol!) but definitely not irrational :) I think this time is so weird as you can’t fee to much in your body except symptoms - and even then they aren’t always the most reassuring! I think when you haven’t experienced a loss, even though the time still drags, you have a bit more trust in your body! Luckily I’m a hoodie/baggy top kinda gal - so I’m thinking I can hide it the next 4 weeks, especially as the only fleece they had left for me was xxl and I go for mediums. Not long to go - good luck for your scan :) I’m already feeling mervous about mine on Sunday! Really hope it’s still good news! Maternity leggins sounds like a plan - I stole my husbands jogging bottoms the other day too for lounging around in at home!

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 16:53

@marplemead oh ice lollies are good when you feel sick. I went to the park to meet My sister in law and kids. Felt quite sick & a bit faint when I got there but luckily we were there first so I could sort myself out. Still feeling so sick now. Find it hard to know what to eat. I don't fancy anything. I then saw on Stacey Solomon's Instagram they had fish & chips. I'm like OMG I want fish & chips now!!! DH says he'll make me some at home as it's healthier... it is sweet but I don't know if it'll give me the same satisfaction as the real thing lol. (When I say fish & chips, I actually get a sausage & chips lol)

@imisscoffee I would do your best to steer clear of reading things. It will only make you more anxious and add to your worries. Try and remember this is different and new and it is highly likely that all is ok.

@vitaminb33 Sorry you've been upset today. All the extra hormones don't help. Try and watch a comedy tonight and get some happy endorphins going.

vitaminb33 · 04/03/2021 18:03

Congratulations @MrsTD88! Absolutely wonderful news ❤️😭

MrsTD88 · 04/03/2021 18:05

@vitaminb33 I totally understand that feeling it is so bittersweet isn't it. I have days like that too. ❤

@Bellabubble no worries at all 😁 I agree I'd love to be as naive as I was the first time round thinking everything would be fine but that part of us is gone I suppose.

MrsTD88 · 04/03/2021 18:07

@vitaminb33 thank you, I've had a little cry. Just so happy and relieved. They have sent us lots of images and even some videos, can see the little heartbeat 💓

Firevie · 04/03/2021 18:10

@MrsTD88 omg I’m so happy for you! Almost teary! I was literally checking on here every 5mins to see an update! Enjoy this moment!!!! ♥️♥️♥️

marplemead · 04/03/2021 18:19

That's wonderful news @MrsTD88! Congratulations! ❤️

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 19:20

So glad to see @MrsTD88 ! I refreshed this thread not long ago and no replies came up so I’ve been panicking at your lack of response thinking something was wrong. Such a relief it was just a technical glitch. That’s a great photo too, you can really see them starting to form into a baby 😊 sure you feel great!

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 19:24

Sorry to hear you’re not having a good day @vitaminb33 hopefully it’s just a little bump in the road today and tomorrow you feel a little better. Definitely agree with watching a comedy to make you feel a little bit better, and any nice treats you can manage 😊

I resisted takeaway last night @Pancakes7 and made a butternut squash risotto as my appetite felt okay. I caved today though and got dominos 🙈 our local one does an offer of their personal sized pizzas (so the small 4 slice ones) for £2, so we got one each and then I did a ‘life hack’ and turned one into a garlic bread to share 😂 I actually felt empty almost immediately afterwards and am hungry again 🤦‍♀️ Trying to resist the temptation to eat the Easter egg I bought yesterday (which I shouldn’t have even bought in the first place!) 😂

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 19:44

Aw wonderful @MrsTD88 !! I'm so glad all is ok.

@PumpkinEverything OMG I love dominos! I got McDonald's delivered the other day. I was craving their apple pie so much. Uh oh, Easter eggs are dangerous! lol. Hide it, out of sight, out of mind.

MrsTD88 · 04/03/2021 19:49

Thank you so much everyone, so happy and now trying to keep relaxed until my NHS scan on 24th.

I don't usually care much for chocolate but have to have it every day at the moment. Might have to buy an Easter egg tomorrow 🤣🤣

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 19:50

Oh I’m so jealous @Pancakes7 ! We’re too far for delivery and now you’ve said it I can actually taste an apple pie 😂😂 our cat is currently sitting on my knee so I can’t move, which is a good thing as I sit and mull over that Easter egg 😂😂 trying to convince myself to have something else instead!

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 20:07

@PumpkinEverything haha good cat! I did have galaxy earlier today. I can't buy any Easter eggs as the temptation would be too much! lol
