Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow @MrsTD88!

Think I'm going to try a few more clearblue weeks estimators over the next week to see if I can figure out where I am. Obviously the best thing to do would be to book a first scan but I can't quite bring myself to book one yet. 🤦‍♀️

marplemead · 04/03/2021 07:26

Good luck for your scan today @MrsTD88 🤞🏼 for you!

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 07:42

Firevie · 04/03/2021 08:33

@Pancakes7 yep just a week now yay! Yep mine is at 8.30am in the morning. What time is yours next Friday? Xxx

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 08:39

@Firevie Oh that's good it's early. I asked for the earliest they do so I'm not waiting around. Mines 9.30am as that's their first appointment. I'm taking your lead and thinking positive. I'm excited to see my healthy baby 🤞🏻🌈

@Firevie I've got my scan next Thursday too - mine's at 9am. I'll be 8+3. I'm a bit up and down about it. Some days I convince myself it's going to be bad news, and other days I'm sure everything will be fine. Either way, not long to wait now!

Firevie · 04/03/2021 08:49

@Pancakes7 yay! We will see our healthy beans and hear their heartbeats!
@marplemead ooh yay! So, the three of us will report great news pretty much at the same time as we have the scans in the morning. We are all v close in weeks today. I’m gonna be 8 weeks next Thursday, @Pancakes7 will be 7+4 I think and you’ll be 8+3.... so exciting! Xxx

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 09:02

That's nice we're all at a similar stage @Firevie & @marplemead . @Strawberry08 is also similar, she's 8 weeks on the Sunday I think, scan on the Monday after ours. 🤞🏻🌈

@PumpkinEverything I've had a few moments like that at work too, been close to saying something a few times. Thanks for all your good luck wishes @pancakes7 @vitaminb33 @marplemead @Firevie I've got a busy day ahead and a few Zoom meetings so hoping for a really quick day 😀

MrsTD88 · 04/03/2021 09:15

And very excited for all these scans coming up ❤

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 09:22

Good luck today @MrsTD88 😊

So many scans! I hope this day two weeks or so we can all be talking about how they went well and we’re all feeling good about it!

imisscoffee · 04/03/2021 09:25

Good luck for all those with scans this week!

I need a kick up the bum. I'm so tired, going to bed around 8pm each night and am no use to anyone when I get home from work. I know it's 99% pregnancy/exhaustion from being so anxious, but I'm eating nothing but carby shite and barely drinking any water, so I'm not helping myself. Urgh. I usually drink 3l a day but I'm lucky if I get 500ml in now, it just hits my stomach (chocolate doesn't seem to though 🙄)

Firevie · 04/03/2021 09:40

Oh yes @Strawberry08 is close to us too
@imisscoffee ahh so jealous of your nausea lol! How far along are you? Remind me / have you had your first scan/when is your next one? Xxx

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 10:02

@imisscoffee That's rough, I'm the same. Going to bed at half 8/9 most nights. Feeling sick since the weekend. Have to force myself to eat. I'm ok drinking though. I find I'm really thirsty.

Ladies, if you’re using pregnancy apps which ones are you using/do you find them helpful? Xxx

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 10:18

@Firevie I'm using What to expect and Baby Centre but I'm not going on the communities just reading the facts each week about your body and baby.

OP posts:
Firevie · 04/03/2021 10:20

@Pancakes7 cool! I’m on Ovia and I’m reading it just day by day and not on the community chat either xxx

Pancakes7 · 04/03/2021 10:28

@Firevie Oooh yes I forgot about Ovid I loved this app when I was pregnant with my son. Thanks for reminding me. I like the different size comparisons too.

@MrsTD88 Good luck!! Everything is going to be great.

Sorry ladies, I have been very quiet, I have had the most busy week at work and feeling really awful, sickness and headchey wise and just shakey and not quite with it, so just been focussing on getting through the day each day!! I am finding though that time is going a little quicker than it was in the very early days.

But EEK!! Im so glad everyone is doing okay and we have lots of scans coming up. Can't wait to hear everyones good news.

@Pancakes7 Yes you are right, I would be 8 weeks on the Sunday ( weeks this sunday) but my surprise scan showed I was about 2 days ahead but still going by my dates just because. I actually have a scan booked for tomorrow as I was offered another one just for reassurance, its at 8am and I am hoping to be around the 7 week mark so I will let you know how it goes!

PumpkinEverything · 04/03/2021 10:40

@imisscoffee I’m sorry, but your post made me laugh about the chocolate 😂 I to cant drink as much water. It doesn’t make me feel sick or anything I just feel like I’m not drinking it. I started drinking 2 litres a day a year ago and have kept it up, but now I’m getting between 1-1.5 if I can make myself. I’ve also not been drinking my decaf coffee as much so I’m not even getting liquids from that. I haven’t known whether it’s pregnancy related or me just going back into my old habits or not drinking much as I used to be terrible.

@Firevie I’m using Ovia mostly to check on progress only, but also have what to expect, pregnancy + and bounty downloaded as well. I don’t think I like them as much as Ovia though. I’m honestly struggling a bit to look at them these days tho as I looked at them loads last time and I feel like I just need to get good news at my scan this week to settle me a bit and feel more confident at looking to see how much they’ve grown and what’s changed.
