Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

@Bellabubble It's weird how it can suddenly hit you. I have felt mostly normal till today. Especially this evening. Just my luck I got a message for a work Zoom call tomorrow 🙈 why is it now when I'm feeling rubbish!? (I've been on Mat leave, can furlough for nearly 2 years)

Yeah work can tire you out but the pregnancy won't help. I remember I would feel like going straight to bed after work sometimes when I was pregnant with my son. Try and rest as much as you can.

Thanks @Pancakes7
Just got here. Now waiting to be seen. Very nervous so just listening to party songs lol xxx

Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 09:22

@Firevie Good idea to keep distracted. Are you on your own? Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🌈

@Pancakes7 yep on my own as partners not allowed which is a bit sad but nothing we can do about that at the moment.
Anyway, so we heard a heartbeat! My doctor said he was happy with my blood work/hormone levels and he’s v happy with what he has seen on the scan. He thinks I’m more like 6weeks rather than 6+4 but that’s because my periods are 30-33 days rather than 28days. He said is not worried but makes sense I’d be 6weeks. He said he is v happy and the report says viable pregnancy. Honestly, ladies, it was so magical hearing the heartbeat and seeing the blue flickers lighting up on the screen! I got really teary and just so emotional! Now it’s another two weeks of hoping and praying! Next scan will be on 11th March when I’ll be 8weeks. Xxx

Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 10:10

@Firevie Oh wonderful I'm so happy it was good news! Hearing the heartbeat is amazing. Could you got another scan lined up soon as well.

So is that NHS rather than private? I know private scans here you can take a partner with you but the NHS ones you can't. I've got my private scan on the 12th March. I'm going to then book another for 2 weeks after when I'll be 9 weeks +4 I think.

@Firevie Sorry that should've said it's good you've got another scan lined up

Brilliant news @Firevie

Firevie · 25/02/2021 10:37

@Pancakes7 thank you!!!! I’m at a hospital rather than a private scan facility. So, I think usual hospital rules apply? My consultant is private and works at that hospital. It’s annoying but I feel comfortable with my consultant and at that hospital so no problem to respect that. I’m sure OH will be able to go for some scans as we should be coming out of this lockdown before the baby is born :) xxx

Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 10:54

@Firevie Yes that's true. I did think it'll be a nicer time to have a baby with lockdown lifted and family able to visit.

Who has their scan next? I can't remember. Unless it's not till me on the 12th

So glad to hear all went okay this morning @Firevie 😁 and it’s great that you already know your next scan date so you don’t have too long to wait!
I rang EPU this morning about booking in a reassurance scan with them so I’m waiting on them calling me back 😊
One boob in particular feels a bit sorer this morning. It’s such a love/hate situation, but they always seem to hurt so much when I get out of bed and gravity hits them in the mornings 😂 that first few seconds. But it gives me a bit of relief to know they’re still sore. Also having the weirdest mild on and off nausea the last few days, that I sometimes feel like I’m imagining 🙈

Smurf123 · 25/02/2021 11:33

I have a scan on Monday..terrified to say the least. Fingers crossed all will be OK.

MrsTD88 · 25/02/2021 11:57

That's amazing news @Firevie

MrsTD88 · 25/02/2021 11:58

@Pancakes7 my dating scan is late at 13+4 so my scan isn't until 24 March! Thinking of booking a private scan for between 11 and 12 weeks to keep my mind from wandering too much.

pixienewbie · 25/02/2021 12:27

Great news @Firevie so pleased for you.

I’ve got a private scan booked for 7th March when I’ll be 8 weeks.
I’m not feeling as sick today which is quite a relief. Even managed some breakfast at a normal hour!

Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 13:09

@Smurf123 eek exciting. How many weeks will you be?

@MrsTD88 That's a long wait. I can't remember. Have you had a scan already? Sorry my memory recently is shocking

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 13:10

@pixienewbie Ooh that's so soon! A week to go! 🤞🏻🌈

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 13:10

@PumpkinEverything I hope that ring back soon. Let us know when you get a date.

Smurf123 · 25/02/2021 13:19

@Pancakes7 I'm 17 weeks today so should be 17w 4 at scan all being well

MrsTD88 · 25/02/2021 13:19

@Pancakes7 no worries, so hard to keep up with everyone! I had one last Wednesday at EPU and measured 8+4

marplemead · 25/02/2021 13:32

@Firevie that's amazing. What a relief!

My next scan is on the 11th too. Really grateful for this, but it feels like a lifetime away.

Pancakes7 · 25/02/2021 13:41

Lots of scans to look forward too. Hopefully the next couple of weeks go quickly!!

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 25/02/2021 14:46

EPU rang me back and I’m booked in for next Sunday 7th at 10am 😊 so thankful as it means I’ll be off work so I won’t have to come up with an excuse to get out of the office; and also not a long wait for me! I’ll be 8+6 then and I found out at 9 weeks about my MMC where baby stopped at 8, so I’m hoping that everything is okay 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Least I also don’t have a long wait now either and it’ll break it up before my 12 week scan!

imisscoffee · 25/02/2021 14:49

Great news @Firevie! My scan is 10th, feels like an age away! TMI, but is anyone having a lot of discharge? I feel so damp all the time and am terrified I'm bleeding/waters have gone (I don't even think we have amniotic fluid this early on but it was leaking for weeks last time as well as the initial gushes) and it's horrible having to go to the loo constantly to check.
