Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

Thanks @Pancakes7 feeling so sick with nerves this morning! Will let you all know how it goes 🤞🏻🤞🏻

marplemead · 23/02/2021 09:11

Thanks ladies! It was good news Smile The consultant could see a yolk sac, fetal pole and a strong little heartbeat. I almost cried with relief. I'm measuring exactly right at 6+1. I know I'm not out of the woods yet. Have more scans at 8wks and 10wks, which I'm really grateful for.

Good luck @PumpkinEverything 🤞🏼

MrsTD88 · 23/02/2021 09:26

@marplemead that's amazing news, so happy for you! Good luck this morning @PumpkinEverything

Pancakes7 · 23/02/2021 09:33

@marplemead Aw great news. I'm so happy for you. Are you booking these scans privately? Sorry I can't remember if you've said.

@Mizzler Thanks. I think I'll be anxious through the whole pregnancy, if I get that far. I hope you're ok.

@marplemead amazing news, congratulations!!
@PumpkinEverything good luck, everything’s going to be great.

pixienewbie · 23/02/2021 09:47

Great news @marplemead and good luck @PumpkinEverything sending good vibes your way.

Another teacher here. Feel so sick this morning. Reassuring in a way but also hideous!

PumpkinEverything · 23/02/2021 10:32

All went okay 😭 I could actually cry as it feels like a weight has lifted. Measured a day ahead at 7+2 with a heartbeat and all in the right place

MrsTD88 · 23/02/2021 10:40

That's amazing @PumpkinEverything so happy for you!

Pancakes7 · 23/02/2021 10:47

great news @PumpkinEverything, congratulations!! Xx

PumpkinEverything · 23/02/2021 11:21

Thanks everyone. A little tear came out when she was doing the scan. Just so relieved that my fears have went away after my worries during the last week. I know it’ll all come back again for sure, but at least I’ve got clarification baby is in the right place and is real 😂 will ring EPU today and get booked in with them for around 2 weeks time!

Pancakes7 · 23/02/2021 11:24

@PumpkinEverything It's so lovely. I'm so glad. I know with my son I was crying my eyes out before she even told me what she saw just from the anxiety. So she quickly said baby and a heartbeat!! I did then panic and have another scan 2 weeks after. Aw you've given me hope that mine could also be good news 🤞🏻🌈 try and enjoy this time of being reassured for as long as you can. You deserve it. X

Thanks so much @Pancakes7 I’m so weird and when I’m anxious I’m usually really silent and people find it hard to read me, and my husband just wanted to hold my hand while we were waiting (probably for his own reassurance!) and I’m like please let me go 🤦‍♀️🙃 I hope it has given you some hope! I always feel hopeful when I see other people’s stories 😁 I feel so much better now and went and bought us a nice big breakfast and cake 😂 and was so distracted I forgot to order a decaf coffee 😂🤦‍♀️

marplemead · 23/02/2021 12:03

That's wonderful @PumpkinEverything ! It's such a relief isn't it? I'm really quiet when anxious too, and have to remember to actually communicate how I'm feeling to DH. I hope you enjoyed the cake! I was craving spaghetti hoops after Grin

The sun was shining when I was walking back from the hospital, and I allowed myself to feel hopeful. I'm sure I'll be a wreck again before the next scan!

Smurf123 · 23/02/2021 12:05

Aww fantastic news @PumpkinEverything you must be so relieved!

Pancakes7 · 23/02/2021 12:20

@PumpkinEverything Aw we all deal with anxiety differently. I go quiet feel really sick. I can't concentrate on anything else. My husband and tries to distract me but I can't pay attention. Breakfast and cake sounds good. Where did you manage to get that in lockdown LOL. Really wanting cake now lol

Great news @PumpkinEverything

PumpkinEverything · 23/02/2021 12:23

I always get really snippy and then feel so guilty afterwards @marplemead 🤦‍♀️😂 my husband knows that I’m like this when I’m anxious though so is understanding. Haha! Hope you enjoyed your spaghetti hoops! That’s so nice you got lovely sun, I think that just makes everything so much better too 😁 it’s super rainy and windy here so I’m jealous!

Firevie · 23/02/2021 12:43

@marplemead @PumpkinEverything I am so so so pleased for you ladies! This is absolutely great news!!! Continuing to keep my fingers crossed for you but must be such a relief to have had that scan today and seen your sticky bean :) xxx

PumpkinEverything · 23/02/2021 12:49

Such a relief @Firevie more than I expected tbh! I’m 5 days off when baby stopped growing last time so just hoping to get past that point and hopefully get booked in with EPU for two weeks time for another scan 😊

Pancakes7 · 23/02/2021 14:58

@PumpkinEverything My mums staying this weekend now so I'm not Billy no mates! lol. She's here now too. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her!. It definitely helps time pass quicker too.

Oh I’m so glad @Pancakes7 I always get my mum or sister to stay with me if my husband has to go away 🙈 at least you won’t be alone with your thoughts and it’ll help the time go in!

imisscoffee · 23/02/2021 15:01

@Bellabubble I initially text my head asking if I could catch her for a chat either by phone or in her office and she rang me straight away, she's not on site much at the moment so wasn't sure if she was around. She caught me in person later in the day for a proper chat as she had her daughter in with her when she took the phonecall, and I'm meeting her later this week for the risk assessment. I work in Y1 so definitely no social distancing possible there! My last risk assessment was basically the standard Covid one, but this time I need to ensure I've got a plan in place incase I start bleeding or god forbid my waters go at school. I'm refusing to take groups out alone this time as my group room is the other end of school so only really be on my own during PPA cover, but just need the teacher next door on board incase I have to leave the classroom really quickly. Can you think of anything else to include in a school?

Mizzler · 23/02/2021 18:51

So good to read about happy news at scans! I hope you're both able to relax a bit this evening. Smile

I'm 3w5d today. I don't have any symptoms apart from very sore boobs! I keep trying to forget about the pregnancy but my boobs aren't letting me. I'm also in my stretchiest non maternity bra and it feels tight and uncomfortable. Confused Don't remember this happening this early before!
