Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

@Pancakes7 that was me with the rolo yoghurts 😂 I bought some more in the shopping again this week. Loving those, the milky bar ones and then the muller chocolate fix. Have been eating the muller ones with some raspberries and strawberries and they’re actually so good together!
Also loving the cheese sandwiches, but toasted. Made some cheese on toast under the grill for lunch yesterday and it was so good!

@Firevie I feel you! I’m 6+4 today and have been feeling tempted to do another test 🤦‍♀️ Think the closer I get to 8 weeks the more anxious I’m going to get as that’s what the baby measured at last time.

Anyone else getting really bad gas? Feels like it’s every day since I found out 🤦‍♀️ Sometimes I’m wondering whether my cramps are because of that!

marplemead · 19/02/2021 09:35

I've gotten myself into a right state. DD has been vomiting all morning, so think she has food poisoning from the scallops we ate yesterday. DH cooked them as a rare treat, but now I am wondering whether they were fully cooked. We are both fine, but I'm worried I'll get food poisoning and lose the baby Sad Can someone talk me down please? I feel so guilty for eating them without properly checking.

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 10:03

@PumpkinEverything Ooh I forgot about the milky bar ones! I think I'm going to add them to the shopping lol. Cheese in toast is a good shout.

@Firevie I completely understand for some reason I just did a cheap test. I don't know why tbh. I'm only 4 weeks +4. When I had my missed miscarriage I still tested positive so not sure why I did a test really. Just to see it really dark I guess. At least it's only a week till your scan now! I hope it goes quickly for you.

@marplemead I'm sure you'll be fine. How are you feeling? I hope your DD feels better soon. If you do feel unwell maybe give 111 a call and explain that you're pregnant.

That’s what I have to keep reminding myself @Pancakes7 a week after my surgical management I had a really strong positive, and then the same two weeks later. It took 5-6 weeks for me to get a negative. Think it’s just so satisfying seeing the line, and last time I took one the line appeared before the dye had even reached the top 😂

marplemead · 19/02/2021 10:19

Thank you @Pancakes7 I feel fine , well, normal pregnancy ugh feeling. I'd have assumed DD had a stomach bug, but we haven't been anywhere this week, so it must be something she ate. Yes, will definitely call 111 if I get sick too. I've read it can take up to 48 hours, so should be in the clear by tomorrow evening. I don't think I'll be eating shellfish again in a hurry!

Firevie · 19/02/2021 10:42

Thanks ladies for enduring my crazy! Does it matter how dark the line is though? I seem to remember the clear blue ones always say on the packet that it doesn’t matter how light or dark the lines are. Obv now squinting trying to see how dark the line is compared to a previous one 🤦🏽‍♀️

@marplemead I am sure you are fine. You would have felt something by now otherwise.

I had lamb steaks yesterday but because OH is so paranoid about undercooked he literally burns everything now so it tastes like shoe sole 😂😂😂 xxx

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 11:07

@Firevie I mean it shows progression from faint to darker. But once it's dark it doesn't matter I don't think. I also read if you're taking tests at different times of day you're really just testing how much you've drank that day lol.

@Pancakes7 thanks hun. I feel like I’ve unnecessarily gone into panic mode now. My tummy doesn’t feel as hard as it’s felt the last couple of days so I’m focusing on that now. I think I just need to focus on something else. This is not healthy xx

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 12:02

@Firevie I wouldn't think your tummy would feel hard that early. The baby is still tiny. So honestly I wouldn't worry about that at all. From my son it took a long time for me to have a bump. Not till about 18/19 weeks I think.

Ladies I’m going crazy. I found my pregnancy test stash lol. Found two early detection ones and the clear blue week indicator one. Did an early boots one. Pic attached. Ironically, my test line is MUCH darker than the control line😂😂 so probably lots of HCG. Will do the week indicator one once I’m over 6weeks so in the next couple of days.

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 12:46

@Firevie That's a very dark line. I'm guessing that's what they call a 'dye stealer'.

Firevie · 19/02/2021 13:03

@Pancakes7 thanks hun!!! Having lunch now / hash brown sandwich lol
Been eating the weirdest stuff. Though v healthy dinner yday with my lamb steaks we had green beans, Brussels sprouts and asparagus which are all high in folic acid apparently. So at least I’m getting in my greens. Roast chicken tonight with spinach and potato gratin xxx

HereWeGoooo · 19/02/2021 13:08

Hi ladies, hope you're all getting on well with your pregnancies. I was on the last thread and said I wouldn't join this one as wanted to focus on myself after getting my BFP.. but yet, here I am! I'm 6 weeks on Sunday going by LMP (but I have long cycles, so could be less than this in reality.)

Trying to keep positive and calm but I do worry, especially as boobs don't feel sore today (although they haven't been as sore overall this pregnancy compared to last pregnancy which ended in MC.)

Lost a tiny bit of my bottom front tooth, so trying my best to eat loads of calcium (greek yoghurt, milk, cheese) as know it runs in my family for teeth to decline in pregnancy - joy! Also bought these omega 3 DHA supplements, taking one every 2 days, but checking in with the GP today that they are ok to take:

Not planning to do an early scan, just trying to remain calm and patient - if I'm going to have a successful pregnancy, it'll be the same answer at a 12 week scan. But it is a very long wait!

I'm holding out to use my last ClearBlue Weeks Indicator as I want to see the 3+ result too. Going to use that next week when I'll definitely be 6 weeks going by conception date.

Strawberry08 · 19/02/2021 13:23

@Firevie @Pancakes7 obsessive tester over here too. I got my dye stealer on Wednesday on a first response rapid results which was great!

@HereWeGoooo glad to see you here!! Glad everything’s going well for you. X

PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 16:16

@Strawberry08 @Firevie I said I wasn’t doing anymore tests, but if I do I am absolutely blaming the both of you! You’re making me want to do one 😂 all I’ve got is cheapies and a digital CB.
I noticed last night my weeks indicator one has turned off already which made me sad!

I’m not nauseous (mildest mildest episodes but nothing really) or sick, but feel like all I want is junk and carbs. Trying very hard to have fruit or vegetables in my main meals to make up for the chocolate and crisps I can’t stop eating the rest of the time 🤦‍♀️

Glad to see you @HereWeGoooo think this is a nice little in between group for after you’ve conceived but aren’t ready to join an October group 😊 I’m in a few (also said I wouldn’t join any either 😂) but I like this one for people who properly understand my anxieties!

Strawberry08 · 19/02/2021 16:20

@PumpkinEverything don’t do it!! It doesn’t help me at all, just makes me question everything even when it’s a good result.
I had my hcg bloods back today, 272 at 15DPO and 802 at 17DPO so more than double and very high for 17DPO apparently. So now I’ve vowed no more testing 🤣

Ah be kind to yourself. You’re taking your vitamins so although fruit and Veges are good, it’s not going to be bad for you to miss your five a day one or two days in a while. Crisps and choccie are good for the soul 🤣

PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 16:24

@Strawberry08 feel like I just need something to do while I’m waiting on my scan on Tuesday 😂
That’s great about the blood results! Sure that’s been a bit of a relief.
Haha, I would eat carbs and junk all day everyday if I let myself 🤦‍♀️ I feel like a bin right now. I had a subway for lunch with crisps and a cookie, and I swear I could have ate the whole thing again when I was done! Currently just sitting here wondering whether to eat something else before dinner 😂🤦‍♀️

Strawberry08 · 19/02/2021 16:27

@PumpkinEverything haha I feel exactly the same. These girls that are like, I feel too sick to eat or I feel full quickly I’m just thinking, why isn’t that me!!!

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 16:32

@Strawberry08 Great news on your blood results. That must reassure you.

It's 3 weeks today till my scan (not booked it yet) feeling like forever waiting! I'm finding it weird I don't feel more unwell still. But know I was so unwell last time and it was an mmc so trying not to worry.

OP posts:
Strawberry08 · 19/02/2021 16:40

@Pancakes7 are you going for an 8 week one? I think I will arrange mine for then as well and then a booking in appointment for week 9 or 10.

PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 16:41

@Strawberry08 I had really wanted to try and watch what I was eating so that I don’t pile the weight on, but I feel so hungry all the time and can’t ignore it 🙈

@Pancakes7 hopefully it’s a good sign for you this time 😊 seems to be a lot of people don’t get their sickness until between 6-8 weeks so maybe just a bit later this time. When are you going to book your scan?

Pancakes7 · 19/02/2021 17:04

@Strawberry08 & @PumpkinEverything I'm planning to book it for 12th March. I'll be 7 weeks +4. I don't think I could wait till the Monday when I'd be 8 weeks lol. I'm feeling a bit anxious thinking what if it's bad news again. Need to try not to think about it.
@Strawberry08 Eek both of us having scans, I really hope we both have good news. 🤞🏻🌈

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 17:13

Good plan @Pancakes7 😊 don’t think I could wait that long either! I just so hope everything goes okay with mine. I feel so nervous about it! It’s in the morning and I’m having to get out of work and I’m worried if it’s bad that I won’t be able to work the rest of the day and will have to tell. I also just don’t feel mentally able to go through all of that again 😔 I’m able to ring EPU from Monday to book a reassurance scan with them from when I’m 9 weeks, but going to wait until I’ve had my scan on Tuesday first to know what’s happening.

Firevie · 19/02/2021 17:32

@Strawberry08 ah good to see your results!! I got 955 HCG at what would have been approx 15-17 DPO but couldn’t relate to the number but seeing yours I understand them a bit more xxx
