Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

@Firevie such a nice treat! I got a velvetiser for Christmas and have been obsessed with hot chocolate most nights. Just have to be careful I don’t have them too late as even when not pregnant I’m terrible for waking up to pee in the middle of the night if I have one after about 8 😂 makes me feel like an old woman!

Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 05:56

Thank you @PumpkinEverything I'm chuffed with it. It's from Etsy, here's the link: etsy.me/3ifvXld

Also I love rolo yogurts!! My Mums obsessed and normally brings me some lol. What's a velvetiser? I'm intrigued. Ive got options salted caramel hot chocolate which I have most evenings.

That's gorgeous @Pancakes7 did it take long?

We told my in-laws last night, they were lovely but understandably very anxious for us. Booked a private scan for 10th March, when I'll be 8/9 weeks. We ordered a Chinese and now I feel so dehydrated, not sure it was worth it!

Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 08:07

@imisscoffee No it's pretty quick actually. I did a bit each day during my sons nap. My friend did hers quickly. I definitely recommend it.

Lovely you told your in-laws. Understandable that they're anxious for you. Is that your first scan you've booked? I'm going to book mine for about three 12/03. The place I go always say ring the week before. So I can't book it yet.

The nausea is coming through now. I had to force myself to eat some breakfast.

Morning all! Sorry just catching up.. 4+2 today, officially missed period, spotting and pain stopped now that the pessaries aren't going in the front way haha. Pregnancy tests are now 'dye stealers' which is great (although I need to stop testing!!).
Doctor wanted to do HCG bloods for my reassurance to check everything is okay so had the first blood test yesterday and the second is booked for Thursday morning. So all going well that will make me feel loads better. I also just had an offer accepted on my new house which is so exciting, I can't help but let my mind think that good luck has come at once, although won't let myself get carried away!

@PumpkinEverything you are totally welcome, glad it helped. Has the anxiety gone down a little bit since yesterday?

@Pancakes7 ah good glad you got your folic and I absolutely love your rainbow, what a lovely idea!

@imisscoffee @notinthestarsigns you are both very brave ladies. So sorry to hear what you have both been through.

Hope everyone has a lovely day x

Firevie · 16/02/2021 09:04

Morning ladies! @Strawberry08 - all sounds great and looks like it is headed in the right direction. I just had my blood results emailed to me saying that the results are fine. I obviously don’t understand the values etc but will go with ‘results are fine’. Have my scan next Thursday when I will be 6.5 weeks. Eek excitement creeping in. Xxx

Strawberry08 · 16/02/2021 09:10

@Firevie amazing!! So exciting with the scan, not long to go! X

dippyegg32 · 16/02/2021 09:11

Hi all just checking in. Af officially late. Temps still really high despite cramping since Saturday, still testing positive but no real line progression. The unknown is torturous. I'm having bloods and a scan on Thursday so should know more then.

PumpkinEverything · 16/02/2021 09:13

Thanks @Pancakes7 I may have a look at that as it looks like a fun thing to do at home and it’s cute!
This is a velvetiser. My husband got me it for Christmas (or I don’t think I could have allowed myself to buy it as it’s pricey for what it is 😳) hot chocolate always turns out perfect though, so creamy!

@Strawberry08 oh yay! Congrats on the house 😊 fingers crossed this is your year 😁 my anxiety seems to come and go 🤦‍♀️ It went away and then last night I started worrying about something being wrong again. If people could see my google search history! Think the cramps are just freaking me out a bit as I don’t remember them being like this last time.

@imisscoffee hate that with takeaway! Dominos is always one of the worst too I think for making you so thirsty. How are you feeling after telling the in-laws? Has it helped a bit not keeping it a secret and people knowing?

Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 09:38

@Strawberry08 Thanks. I'm so glad I checked as I feel like this could make a difference 🤞🏻🤷🏼‍♀️ although when I last had my loss I was much slimmer so I know it's not going to fix it but I just think at least I've done everything I can. I'm still drinking pomegranate juice each day lol.

I'm 4 weeks +1 today (4 weeks yesterday) at least it's less than 4 weeks to go till scan lol.

@Strawberry08 Great news on the house! I hope it all goes smoothly. Good you're getting bloods done. It'll help put your mind at rest.

@PumpkinEverything OMG the velvetiser looks good! I love hotel chocolat.

@Firevie Great news your bloods have come back fine. Exciting it's your scan next week! Fingers crossed for you.

@dippyegg32 Good news your af is late. Maybe the lines will get darker as time goes on. Have you tried a digital test to have it read pregnant? Good you're getting bloods and a scan.

OP posts:
imisscoffee · 16/02/2021 11:08

Great news all round @Strawberry08! I think I might get one of them too @Pancakes7, I'm ok when I'm busy at work but in the evening once the kids are in bed I start worrying. Yeah first scan this time around, ideally I'd like to go earlier but we agreed that there's no point going before the post mortem report appointment because we'll both just worry that there's something genetic we don't know about yet. At least going for the scan after means that even if there are nasty surprises at the appointment, we have time to process and plan before the scan.

imisscoffee · 16/02/2021 11:17

@dippyegg32 good news with the late period! Hope Thursday comes around quickly for you.

@PumpkinEverything it was ok, a little anticlimactic. I'm not ready to tell anyone just yet, but they need to know for practicality incase anything goes wrong. I could really do with telling work as I work in a school and am now working alone with the pupils so need a plan incase I'm sick/things go south, but I can't bring myself to talk to the head just yet. DH reminded me that when we announced my last pregnancy, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows anyway as it was our third, and their sort of quiet joy/nervousness absolutely mirrors how we feel about this pregnancy.

Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 11:23

@imisscoffee Good idea to wait till after the appointment so you know all the facts. I'm waiting till about 8 weeks after last time going at 7 I saw a heartbeat but it measured a week behind so they told me to come back in 2 weeks only to find it had gone. I think 8 weeks hopefully it'll be a clearer answer🤞🏻

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 11:25

@imisscoffee I know what you mean about anticlimactic telling people. When we told my in-laws they seemed excited as well as cautious but when I told my friend she didn't seem excited at all she just seemed concerned about how I was feeling. Which is nice but I also thought it would've been nice to have a bit more happiness too. Hopefully we'll get there soon.

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 16/02/2021 11:32

I get it @imisscoffee @Pancakes7 when I told my best friend it didn’t seem as exciting as it would had i not had my miscarriage. Although I feel like it’s partially my fault, she asked how my cycles were going and I said ‘funny you should ask..’ and sent her photos of my tests. She was still really happy for me but I sort of felt like the convo was too casual 😂
I still need to tell my other best friend and I just don’t know what to do. I feel like part of me wants to tell her before my scan so if something is wrong she’ll have warning, but also I want to wait until after so I can say I was waiting to see if it was all okay. I just feel incredibly guilty that one friend knows and the other doesn’t, even though they aren’t friends (they know each other and have met each other plenty, but it’s only because of me)

dippyegg32 · 16/02/2021 12:05

This is the last three days which I think shows ever so subtle changes with clearblue but frer looks opposite

Dunno why that went upside down sorry!

Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 12:43

@dippyegg32 How many DPO are you now?

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 16/02/2021 12:43

@PumpkinEverything Do what feels right, if you'd rather wait till after the scan I think that's fine. Your friend won't mind. Don't feel obligated to tell them.

OP posts:
dippyegg32 · 16/02/2021 13:14

@Pancakes7 12dpo

PumpkinEverything · 16/02/2021 13:22

I can see a progression in those @dippyegg32 and 12 DPO is still early. Do you have any of the cheapie pink dye tests?
