Yes, good luck on today's testings and scans! Really hoping for lots of good news. xxx

Hope everyone else is well. How's the snow Deb? And itchiness? I'm very itchy as well, annoying dry patches on my calves, upper arms and lower back. Always get it this time of year though, the air is so much drier than in England. Am slathering myself in cream but nothing's helping.

I've got my rebooked nuchal scan tomorrow, really hoping baby still happy and in a good testing position!

debinaustria · 06/12/2007 10:11

Morning Har

best of luck for you scan tomorrow, hope your baby behaves better than mine did!!

Itching is getting a little better since regularly using the E45.

Snow - loads!! Took us ages to dig out on Tuesday morning, then got stuck in speech therapists car park and had to put snow chains on, the coming up our road had to put them on again. I really love driving in winter(not)

How's the weather with you Har? Are you in a snowy part of Sweden?

so, back from scan. Josie, my baby didn't move at all, if that reassures you. And it looks like an alien. He got a fab picture of the alien, so the boys are extra chuffed to have an alien sibling.

I had decided not to have the nuchal test, but doc just went through - there's the legs, there's the arms - thant's an elbow, there's the baby's head and eyes, and this is the neck - it measures 1 mm, so that's great blah blah balh...... Dunno if this counts as a full on nuchal test, I didn't really say anything as I was totally taken by surprise, he didn't say anything like risk factors or anything.

I mentioned it earlier, but I'll put up a link if anyone's interested - I and the boys love looking at t this site.

Fingers crossed that all the other scans go well, and your testing too, LittleMy34, got my fingers crossed xx

Ernest,

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 06/12/2007 13:50

I am so stupid!!!!!!!!! I went shopping with dd2. A second after we left the bus I thought I had left my shopping so flapped my arns manically and ran a few steps to flag down the bus but didn't manage. When I got home I came straight upstairs to check for the bus company number on online and then went downstairs to discover my shopping was on the hallway floor! I really do not know how I managed that!!!!!!

needahand · 06/12/2007 14:31

Hi ladies I hope you are all well. I an sorry I haven't posted for a while, but with work and the long commute, by the time I get home I have lost the will to live.

I was supposed to have my scan today like ernest but I had an emergency one yesterday.

Started having lower back + abdominal pains + what felt like contractions on Tuesday (which felt exactly how my prem labout with DD1 had) so I had to go to hospital and they kept me through the night. The doctors thought it was misc or ectopic but luckily baby was fine. Felt a bit cheated though as instead of being this exiting moment, the scan was quite stressful and very short, so I did ask to for the nuchal just so that I can have another look at that little bably.

I was going to be followed by a consultant anyway, but I guess this just confirms the fact that I have to be extra careful.

On the plus side, the sickness have gone.

On the minus side, I am huge, I look 5 months pregnant already (proof: I have already been offered a seat twice in the tube...and I am only 11 weeks!)

LittleMy34 · 06/12/2007 16:01

Hello all,

needahand hope all remains well - very jealous that your sickness has gone, I'm still feeling queasy every morning and when I get hungry! (Which is nearly all the time)

We just got back from the CVS test, not the most fun I've ever had in my life but they said it went very well and we had a Professor in Fetal Medicine doing it, so can't get much better than that in terms of care. Now it's just the lovely waiting for results! they reckoned Monday at the earliest.

Thanks for all your thoughts and wishes - will keep you posted!

Now to old movies and crumpets on the sofa

needahand · 06/12/2007 16:06

LittleMy Good luck with the results. Hope it goes well...and enjoy the crumpets and movies...my turn to be envious!

LittleMy34 · 06/12/2007 16:12

christmaspuddings - maybe your shopping followed you home? Or did DD2 carry it?

or maybe it's mushy brain!

needahand · 06/12/2007 16:19

By the way I have been meaning to ask. Have any of you started to feel the BB moving yet?

LittleMintSpy34 · 06/12/2007 16:26

ahem, christmas name change alert.

ernest · 06/12/2007 16:36

I was having bad feelings of doom yesterday, so was most relieved and excited to feel very distinctive, full on internal wriggling this morning had a couple of other 'sitings' but today was a real proper feeling a wriggle for a few minutes, which was great.

goingfor3christmaspuddings, my brain has truöy turned to mush tooo, I've left bags at the check out, given the wrong money etc etc. can only get worse.

LittleMintSpy34, will be thinking of you over the weekend. Try not to go insane, I know it'll probably be the longest weekend of your life

needahand · 06/12/2007 16:46

Ernest me too..and we are due about the same time!

katyjo · 06/12/2007 16:46

Needahand, what a sham to have to had your scan in such a stressful way - so glad everything is well though. What do they think caused your pains? I am sure I've felt the baby move, started about 13 weeks def felt flutterings but only occasionally 15 weeks today so will start being a bit stronger soon! I look about 5 months pregnant too! Though I was big last time, so to be expected I guess.

Littlemy, so glad everything went well today, and you had someone so senior performing the procedure, that must have been a bit more reassuring. Sorry you have to wait for the results, it must be stressful, I hope the time doesn't pass to slowly and you get a good result on monday.

Goingfor3 - Sounds like something I would do!I blame baby brain!

Ernest - Glad the scan went well, hope the boys aren't disappointed when baby is born and isn't actually an ALIEN!

Hope everyone else is well.

needahand · 06/12/2007 16:54

Katyo they don't know, it is not cervix nor infection. When I went into prem labour with DD1 there was no rational explanation (apart from the extreme stress I was under at the time).

This time I suppose stress and tiredness, I have a stressful job and a commute between 3 and 4 hours everyday.

Glad to know i am not the only one bursting out of my trousers.

katyjo · 06/12/2007 17:19

sorry meant shame not sham, that baby brain again!

katyjo · 06/12/2007 17:21

3-4 hours a day, you must go insane.
Bursting out of my trousers, these ones are a sixteen and tight! I think I'm going to be a whale, I think it's all bump though!

debinaustria · 06/12/2007 17:24

HI everyone

Ernest - so pleased your scan went well, and the "alien"baby has pleased your boys!!

goingfor43 - god help you when you have that newborn brain!!!You're definitely not the only one though!!

needahand sorry to hear you've had a rough time but sounds like they're looking after you. I can't begin to imagine what working a full day and commuting must be like - you deserve an award. It's only this week that I can begin to do a reasonable days work.

Littlemy - took me a while to work out your Christmas name - blame the pregnancy brain!! Glad it went well today, I was thinking about you, and I hope you find lots of things to do whilst you wait for the results.I am very jealous of the crumpets - they don't do crumpets here!!

Josie how are you today?

I have felt a tiny bit of movement I think, but not as much as I did a week ago, maybe baby has just moved? I'm still being sick regular as clockwork every morning but for the last few days that's been it - just the once. My appetite's back and I'm eating like a pig!!I will be huge if I don't stop.

Deb

Hi everyone
Mylittle glad things went ok, hope you manage to remane sane till Monday.

G43 lol your body must have cut off from your brain to save you the pain lol least you didnt loose your shopping.

Needahand, what a shame about your scan, good the baby is ok though.

I had my scan today the consultant ended up doing it as the scanning department was running so far behind. She put the fear of god though me by showing black sacks and exclaiming OHHHH (panic from me and DH) before she said what a lovely full bladder! few! Baby didnt move much apart from turn its back to us everytime a clear shot of it was taken, have given me a due date of 5/6 which I think is a bit early so might just stick with the 9th then wont be disappointed.

Will try and post a pic later.

Im getting lots of movements as well which Im supprised about.

Oh and after visiting the hospital DH has said he would be much happier if I had a home birth

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 06/12/2007 17:41

needahand I've been feeling baby since 11/2 weeks but it is my fifth pregnancy so my muscles are really slack!

I still have no idea how the shopping got into my hallway, they must be homing pj's!

LittleMintSpy34 · 06/12/2007 17:44

Homing pjs could be useful, especially if they put kids to bed for you!

josey glad your scan went well!

debinaustria · 06/12/2007 19:08

Glad it went well Josey

Morning everyone, it was quiet on here last night, hope you've all had a good night's sleep and are feeling well this morning.

I'm coming on purely to moan and get some sympathy. Don't know why but slept really badly, possible the really bad storm raging outside. I was awake at 2, couldn't sleep. eventually the pillow-on-head trick worked .... until 4 when my youngest woke up crying for me. He has a bad cough and temp, so had to go hunting medicine at 4 am, I brought him into bed with me blah blah. Cue this morning, absolutely exhausted beyond imagination, and got to get the packing & house sorted, then bloody fly, with 1 sick kid in tow this pm. I could weep.

I'll shut up now.

Josie57 · 07/12/2007 07:41

Littlemy - glad the CVS went ok and good luck waiting for the results. Can I ask a couple of questions as we are thinking of going down the CVS route depending on what my bloods come back as. Do they only do CVS up until 14 weeks? And I hope this next question isn't too painful but how quickly do you know if you are going to miscarry after this procedure? If it has all gone well are you likely to be ok? Hope you enjoyed your crumpets and movies!

I'm feeling a lot more positive about things now, it was just such a shock on Wednesday at the scan when we obviously expected everything to be ok. It also didn't help that following the scan that everyone kept rushing round after us and saying they were sorry for the result etc - i even had other midwives coming into the consult room to say they had just heard the result and that they were sorry. I know they were all being kind but I think they made it feel more serious and dramatic than it really was. Plus I am the type of person that if you start showing me sympathy then I just blub. I think I might have to warn the midwives that they are best of just being of matter of fact with me as I find it easier to handle. Anyway the upside of it is that we are investigating getting a private scan done just as a second opinion but at the moment the diagnostic sonographer is on maternity leave so we are waiting for the company to sort something out.
