Oh yes, mine's just under the ribcage too and I'm sure it's just saggy stomach muscles as the baby's still tucked away behind the pelvis, isn't it? I didn't look pregnant till about 16 weeks last time - just thickened as if I'd put on weight quickly - at least this time it's that unmistakeable shape! Am in maternity clothes already, need them for comfort.

Dp is watching the run-up to the Austria friendly on Sky Sports News Deb, there was so much snow I thought it was a foam party for a moment!! Looks gorgeous (though I know it gets to be a pain after a while!)

goingfor3 · 16/11/2007 20:38

If I try to feel my fundal height it's inbetween my pubic bone and belly button, it only just supposed to be popping up at 12 weeks! I haven't been able to fit into any of my normal clothes since about 6 weeks!

ernest · 16/11/2007 20:50

I've just gone 9 weeks and been in maternity clothes full time since a week now

I remember I was in the UK when I found out, then I was 6 weeks, and I remembered stateing to show last time at 7. I've given away all my maternity stuff, so I asked sil if I could borrow hers, as I knew I'd need them soon. Dh was so pissed off that I'd told her & when I explained he said that that was a load of crap & I wouldn't be needing maternity clothes for months yet. That was 3 weeks ago. So 2 weeks after his rant I did bloody well need the, I'l point out he was, yet again, wrong at some point.

Def. only 1 in there so my only 'excuse' is my body has given up on me

pamirka · 16/11/2007 21:18

Evening all,
I'm jumping over from the July group as we found out from a dating scan recently that I'm due on 24th June! (I came off depo in early Aug and had 1 AF and 2 mini AFs over the next two months so had no idea after testing how PG I was, hence the scan)

So, here's me - this is number 2, DD1 is almost exactly one and a half and DH and I are delighted. I'm not showing yet but it can only a matter of time given how much carb I'm putting away at the moment - peanut butter on crackers and shortbread is surely not the healthiest supper known to womankind, but was exactly what I wanted today!!

I haven't told anyone (apart from MNers!) yet but we're going to tell my parents this weekend when it will be just about 9 weeks. And then slowly slowly the rest of family and all the friends. I'm still cautious about waiting til 12 weeks (touch wood etc), even though everything with DD1 went well.

DD1 was 2 weeks late so it may be that I end up skipping back to July, but I shall keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to wait quite as long this time! Does anyone have experience of timing of second/third etc babes compared to first?

Have a nice weekend all

systemsaddict · 17/11/2007 06:49

12 weeks today! Now I feel slightly less antsy about having told people already.

We are all ill here - just nasty colds but ds had to have a day off nursery yesterday. I was supposed to be doing a presentation in the afternoon so dp came back at lunchtime, but as he walked through the door ds was having a coughing crisis - coughing every breath for 45 minutes - I wasn't about to leave him after that - so we ended up both with take time off work yesterday! Am worried this is going to double with 2 children ... wish we had family here to help out sometimes. (But then I remember all the benefits of not having family close too! )

Got an appt through yesterday to see consultant in January, they want to discuss checking me for gestational diabetes because ds was big (9 lb 15). Is it very irrational to try and get all my pregnancy cake-eating done before that appointment, just in case ?

sophiewd · 17/11/2007 10:50

Hello all, back from a great time in Venice, spent far to much money mainly on georgeous clothes for DD, but it was a lovely break. Now 8 weeks and have booking in appointment for Thursday, and then will probably tell some people, no one seems to have noticed about drop in alcohol intake nad giving up smoking, and I am so fat anyway that pregnancy doesn't show

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 17/11/2007 11:32

Wow, as usual I've missed lots of messages - about to go into town with dh and ds so no time to catch up but wanted to say a quick hello. I'm 9 weeks today and after struggling, I've finally given in and put on some of my old maternity clothes - feels very odd but lovely at the same time I've not got a baby bump, I'm just big from food and gas I presume and the body shape changing!! I usually have quite a flat tummy so to me, I'm big and normal clothes were hurting. I'll probably go back to normal clothes during the week if I can as worry about parents of mindees realising. But for now, it's nice to have some jeans on and not baggy trousers!

For those who've mentioned home births, I was recommended this link and I'm going for this birthing pool as can be used for the kids after

Have a good weekend everyone

systemsaddict · 17/11/2007 11:59

ACK just found a VARICOSE VEIN in my leg! Can only see it getting worse over the next 28 weeks - urgh!!

ChinaSurprise · 17/11/2007 12:59

Afternoon all
Just catching up with the thread. Am 11 weeks today and enjoying week 12 being so close now (woo SA!)- fingers crossed all will be fine. The last week I've been much stricter with myself re going to bed earlier and hence am not knackered today. I've finally learnt to recognise that feeling of being dead tired - and listen to it!
My MS is pretty much gone now although am still sensitive to strong smells and people talking about anything remotely gross. I'm sort of showing - my tummy muscles have relaxed so I look like I have a little bump but I guess in theory it's still tucked away? I'm putting my skinny clothes out of sight in a bag as they become a bit tight so I'm not getting depressed by seeing clothes in the wardrobe which I can't wear (a trick I learnt when I lost a lot of weight a year ago). Generally feeling positive and have discovered the joys of alcohol free lager, which always tasted horrid to me before but my pg tastebuds seem to love! Impatient now for my booking in appt as I need to get a consultant referral due to bicornuate uterus. More importantly, I want my free swimming card!
Have a great weekend all

11 weeks tomorrow it almost feels as though a sentence is coming to an end lol!

debinaustria · 17/11/2007 15:46

Hi everyone, just back from taking Mum back to the airport - the time went too quickly. I am now wearing the maternity jeans she brought me - they're lovely but still a bit baggy and seemed to be getting bigger throughout the day!!So nice not to have a tight waistband though.

Ernest - hope your ds has had a great Birthday - have you told them yet?

Sophie - sounds like you had a great time in Venice, was it good having someone else making your breakfast and cleaning your bathroom?

Josey - have a good time at the wedding do - you'll have to go for a bit!!

welcome parmika - you sound so excited and happy, glad all is going well for you.

to everyone else I've missed - hope you're all OK.

Sophie - do you carry on with guests through the winter?

OP posts:
ernest · 17/11/2007 16:18

yes told boys, ds3 having happy birthday, loved his present, I must say I am a great present chooser, for the boys anyway. But ds2 now poorly and ds1 starting to feel bad, so dh taken just ds3 out alone, which is porbably really nice for him anyway. Hows, esp ds1, off the scale with delight. Ds 1 has already chosen names. He keeps saying I can't beleiev we're getting another brother (I politely remind him it might be a girl) he phoned all the relatives immediately.

Welcome parmika

now we need an in utero name, ds1 was casper, cos on the scan he looked like caspar the feindly ghost, ds2 was chumpy, ds3 was schlumpfli. Does anyone else have names for thier beanies? Dh suggested this one should either be 'stupo' or dalek

sophiewd · 17/11/2007 16:24

Pretty much, alot of B&B's close over winter but people still want to stay finally people have stopped booking during the week and it is just weekends now. We have a big house that is expensive to heat. Nest year will be tricky, as concieved on first go thinking it would take us 6 months like DD, so due just before our busy season, this year had 4 days of between start of July and end of October, oh well.

ernest · 17/11/2007 16:37

where are you sophiewd?

debinaustria · 17/11/2007 16:51

Sophie - dh just read my last message to you - and said should I be asking if you "carry on " with guests through the winter? Is it that sort of house - he wants to know? LOL

I timed this baby OK, I'll have a couple of weeks before our summer season starts, there was no way I could consider having a baby in the winter which is obviously our busiest season.

In Dorset Ernest.

katyjo · 18/11/2007 11:09

Hi all!
I wrote a long post yeasterday then ds turned computer off and I lost it, hope it doesn't happen again!

Glad everyone seems to be doing so well, I also feel huge and I'm considering getting down maternity gear from the attic, everyone keeps joking that I might be having twins, but I doubt it I was quite big early with ds so I reckon its just crap posture and tummy muscles!

I have my scan on monday so find out then, really excited, bit nervous too! I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, seems to be going really quickly nearly a third of the way through already!

Glad your mum had great care at qm josey, they were good with me last time, although the decore probably hasn't changed in 30years and they are short staffed but I think that's the same everywhere!

Good luck everyone with scans/appts this week!

josey · 18/11/2007 11:39

Hello everyone
Ooof Im shattered today I only went to the Wedding till 9.30 DD was a good excuse to escape home put my pjs on a flake on the sofa.
I have that horrible feeling of lingering sick come heartburn today I dont what to do to make it go.

11 weeks today and my tummy has properly formed I have the easter egg on legs look going on, last night I could breath it in a bit but not today. As I havent seen my DH in 3 weeks I think he will be in for a shock on Tuesday

Ernest glad your boys are thrilled, hope they are feeling a bit better today though and DS3 enjoyed his birthday.

Katyjo good luck for tomorrow go of you getting your scan

Forgot to say yesterday welcome to Primika - in answer to your question both my DCs were 2days before there scan date so have never been late sorry Im hoping this one will be the same.

ernest · 18/11/2007 14:33

ooh, sophiewd my mum's in dorset, corfe mullen, go there occasionally when I'm in UK you near there.

WE had quite a bit of puking yesterday, por ds1 is a bit phobic so didn't go down too well, but they seem a bit better today.

pamirka · 18/11/2007 20:07

We told my parents this evening, who were delighted - but not surprised. My mum said that my boobs have grown so she guessed!!

Have finally satisfied my craving for spuds after DH made delish roast pots for dinner. If only I was that easily pleased all of the time

debinaustria · 18/11/2007 21:00

Glad it went well Parmika - are your boobs that big???

Josey - You must be counting down the hours until Tuesday!

Katy - good luck for tomorrow, put your scan on your profile so we can all see.

Boys and dh had their 1st day of skiing for the season today - it felt very strange not skiing with them!! I might do a little bit but it was way too busy today and it was also an area I didn't know. I need to get to 12 weeks then decide how I feel about it then.

When will my sickness stop??? Sicked up my Shreddies this morning and you can't buy them here so they are a luxury!!!
