SA - great stuff

China - Hope you feel better soon - earache is pants

Josey - how lovely is your dh!

Hi to everyone else

Well......I spoke to dh on the phone at lunchtime (well, his lunch break, I don't get one!) and told him (almost in tears) that I really don't want any special scans/tests - he said fine!!

Got my booking appointment with the midwife on Tuesday, not sure how long it takes but I'll have 2 mindees with me so hope they behave! Hope she's one who's pro Home Births as that's definitely what I want!!

Right....snack time over...back to it!

LT xx

josey · 08/11/2007 16:12

China I was told to fill an old pillow case(not all the way) with salt then put in the microwave, it does help, hope it gets better soon.

Looney I had mine yesterday an I was about half an hour and I had already filled in all the details I was meant to on my notes, If you dont already have notes and have to do it from scratch you could well be an hour.
My MW offered me a home birth DH is freaking but wont talk about it till he comes home which is driving me nuts

Lol Debs I wouldnt like to see you on the ski slops with 38ll mamas.

I started to flicker snow here this avo brrrr as the weather is awful and dd is still poorly I have been lasy and ordered my shopping on line so I dont have to gag my way round tesco.

looneytune · 08/11/2007 16:16

Josey - I've filled everything I possibly can in so hopefully won't be too bad. If only I could pick a better time but no, it has to be that day at that time . Oh well. As for Home Birth.....if dh is worried (you'll know soon enough) then print my thread off and also the stuff from the website (link at the bottom of that thread) and it should help. Dh is fine about it now and I can't wait (just hope it works out I can)

libralady · 08/11/2007 16:35

Debs you beat me, I'll let you have the comfy seat. I'm not 39 until next October, so will still be 38 when this babba is born.
Looney - send me an e-mail to lmcc2007atbtinternetdotcom replacing the words with symbols iyswim. We can talk more freely that way. Glad to be of some help.
Hope all is well with everyone else.
LLxx

looneytune · 08/11/2007 16:50

LL - thanks so much, will send an email after I finish work....actually, once baby mindee is in bed (forgot she's staying tonight - pregnancy brain!!)

libralady · 08/11/2007 17:04

Looney,
I am going out tonight (my one night out a month!!!!!!!) but I'll try and look at it before I go. Will be out between 7.30 and 10.30. Otherwise I'll check it out tomorrow when I get back from work (only working therapeutic hours at the mo so should be home by 2.30ish.

looneytune · 08/11/2007 17:36

Just emailed, managed to get time whilst baby napping, other mindee having a lie down and ds playing on his pc!

looneytune · 08/11/2007 17:37

Meant to say.....I have LOVELY night out! xx

imopop · 08/11/2007 17:59

Hi haven't posted for a while. Feel very nervous have next scan tomorrow. My last mmc was around this time and getting paranoid as I don't feel as sick/tired today. Glad everyone elses scan seem to have gone well.

ChinaSurprise · 08/11/2007 18:10

Thanks for all the earache tips guys. I hadn't heard the salt in the microwave one but will try everything - is a bit better this avo thank goodness.

Good luck to all for scans/ bookings today/ tomorrow. I'm nervous and at the same time excited about my next scan on Monday. It will be nice when we've all hit that magic 12 week mark won't it?!

Re home birth - I think the simple stats often help to put DH minds at rest - the benefits of quicker labour, less pain, less intervention is definitely a selling point.

Also, to anyone suffering from backache (can't remember who), sitting on a big medecine ball is good as it's got give and support at the same time - is doing wonders for mine today.

Anyway, about to go and forage for mint icecream at Tesco which I could say I'm craving, but actually I just want - harhar.
Have a good evening all
China

Upsidedowncake · 08/11/2007 19:26

Wow. Lots of scans and mw appointments. It really seems like it's becoming a bit more real, doesn't it?

Home births - you're supposed to be able to choose a home birth if you want one and are in England. Is that what people are finding?

China - sorry about your earache. I have sinusitis - swollen face, toothache and blocked nose. According to the doc, the progesterone acts on all your other mucous membranes as well as the ones in your uterus, so pregnant women are much more likely to get ENT infections than other people as the membranes are much more receptive to germs. Yum.

And, dammit, they can't give us any drugs at all. I've been breathing in steam, eating horseradish and wearing cold compresses. Someone make it go away.

Upsidedowncake · 08/11/2007 19:30

In elderly terms, I'm 36 so geriatric thread works for me. M

My grandmother was 37 when my father was born - she and my grandfather had been trying for over 10 years. Can you imagine ttc in the 1930s at that age?

debinaustria · 08/11/2007 20:46

Make way, make way, oldest Mum due in June 2008 coming through, get out of that comfy chair LL

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Imopop

Do you know I've only been sick twice today - hurrah!!!

Imopop good luck for tomorrow.

Ok on the age thing please tell me im not the youngest or i might have to take up lollypops and being naughty

Bless you Debs, its a nice feeling when things feel as though they are subsiding, even when others will be in shock when you are please at being sick twice. I remember it well with Ds.

I just went to let the dog out the back before I crawl into bed and there is a pile of hailstones forming at my backdoor

Well hope everyone is feeling better tomorrow after all it is Friday xx

looneytune · 08/11/2007 21:47
  • how old then Josey - I'm 31, will be 32 by the time baby is due.

at the hail stones, we had MAD rain here earlier, kids in playroom found it funny as so loud on the roof (conservatory).

Right, off to bed as knackered!!

Night, night xx

josey · 08/11/2007 22:38

Would anyone care for a seat?

Have a wonderful day ladies!!!

debinaustria · 09/11/2007 06:33

Four well endowed men eh Twilight??

I hope the chair is one of those electric ones so that when we get really huge it helps us out of the chairs when we ave to keep dashing to the loo!!

Hope everyone's OK this morning

bloody well endowed men can keep away from me. It's just that sort of thing that got me into this predicament in the 1st place.

Dh should be coming back for 1st visit this weekend and the bloody Italian trains are on strike. double

katyjo · 09/11/2007 09:37

Good morning all!
Managed to sleep through until 7am this morning without having to get up to go to the toilet - hurray! Although then I started worrying, but I fell asleep on the sofa and dh only woke me at 11.45 so maybe that's cheating and I have been to the toilet 4 times this morning already! Roll on scan date and hopefully I will stop worrying so much, still over a week to go!

Don't worry Josey, I'm 29 not 30 until feb, but surely I'm not the youngest on this thread!

PiggyPenguin · 09/11/2007 09:38

Hi everyone, am nearing the nine weeks mark and the feeling terrible is starting to wear off.

Obviously I am now panicking that this is because something dreadful has happened, has anyone else found things getting better naturally around this stage? Dh is considering having me sectioned as I have spent the last two weeks crying about how awful I feel and am now crying that I don't feel awful any more - hormones seem to be at pregnancy levels still then!

katyjo · 09/11/2007 09:54

I know exactly how you feel sybil! I keep feeling horrible and sick and look about 4 months pregnant (only 10 weeks) but every morning when I wake up I examine my stomach to see if I still look and feel pregnant and start analysing my symptoms!
I can't wait for thwe scan, at least I'll know what's happening!!

katyjo · 09/11/2007 09:54

Oh, goodluck everyone with appts today.
xxx

dylansluckymum · 09/11/2007 09:59

lmao! you lot are so funny with the well endowed men... although i don't seem to want dp anywhere near me at the mo my dreams seem to be getting more and more x-rated!

sorry to hear about your earache china that's the worst. hope some of the remedies work for you.

wow deb i thought my boobs were big last time at 36F but i wonder how you can even get around! you must have one very hard core bra!! so far i'm still in my DDs but am starting to spill over the top a bit so i'll have to break out the biggies soon.

sybil i'm 10 weeks tomorrow and i have been pretty much symptom-free for 2 weeks. i have to odd bit of ms in the late afternoon/evenings but barely noticeable. other than itchy skin and the odd stabbing pain in the breast i am symptomless. it's kind of freaky but i do remember that not-pregnant feeling from last time so i'm just going with it! i am awfully tired though but can't nap to save my life!

good luck to everyone with appts coming up. i'm going for a home birth as well although dp is dubious he'll go with what i want. i hated being in that manky hospital so much. my first midwife appt isn't until the 22nd and then my 12 week scan is the 27th so it'll be nice to have them close and over with. feeling generally positive and very happy!

goingfor3 · 09/11/2007 10:11

katyjo I'm slightly younger than you I'll be 30 in March!

I'm 11 weeks today by my dates though I think at my next scan they make make me one day less but I'll stick with mine fot the moment as 11 weeks sounds so good.

I'm envious of all of those thinking about homebirths because I would love to have one especially as I have fast and relatively easy labours and births. Due to the fact I have GBS and both of the girls were ill after birth I need to have antibiotics in labour and the baby will have to have antibiotics after birth and be monitored closely. I just don't know if I would actually make it to hospital in time as all of my labours half in time each time with the last being 2 1/2 hours. I really am the most boring and winging poster on this thread!
