Bloody Hell Mrs Mc!!!! I love it when you post, means I can catch up on what I missed!

If this is BH then labour is gonna be easy, unless of course the mean it when they say it shouldn't hurt!! ARGH

gingeme · 12/11/2007 23:40

Wow mrsmcj how do you do it?
Yes babys been real active today. dh on the mend. had a bit of an infection but with bathing and cream 'its' getting better.
Im usualy in bed now but ds4 has been awake and screaming since 9pm till about half hour ago tried NHS Direct who were very kind but not realy helful. I put it down to trapped wind as he hasn't got a remp or rash or runny nappy but he kept bringing his knees up. He kept doing loads of burps and farts and seems to be ok now and asleep in his cot. Fingers crossed he stays there till morning.
Well on that note I better get off to my bed. No doubt ds3 will be up at 7 as usual.
Night all. xxx

Lulubump · 13/11/2007 09:17

Morning everyone!
Ginegeme - hope ds is better today. Amani - glad you're feeling better and managing to sleep .

Just thought I would come on for a quick moan. There is no heating in my office today. There was no heating yesterday either. The heaters are blowing out cold air, and its about 12 degrees in here. AND there is no mention of sending us home . Hvae my coat on, sweater, scarf, T-shirt, vest, socks, and I'm still freezing!!!

MrsBiscuit · 13/11/2007 09:18

Morning

Big catch up MrsMcJ - [round of applause]

Just wanted to mention something that the NCT teacher talked about last night -including Arnica tablets in your labour bag? Something to do with aiding internal healing. Anyone else heard about this?

Hope everyone is well. I am irrationally grumpy today.

mixedmama · 13/11/2007 09:20

Morning all...

MrsMc - so pleased you posted, feel very up to date with all the goings ons. Feel ok about moving now as I dont really feel like we are moving in with BIL as it is DH's flat sort of anyway and BIL really only uses his bedroom and doesnt even eat there. it is just he is so rude in his manner... it does however mean that we can have nice things again without worrying and holiday will be easy to manage instead of worrying about things and hopefully once LO comes along BIL will realise he is a twat and move on... I was very accomodating last time when his friends came round at 10 pm on Saturday night before they wen out and woke DS1 up and just sort of pulled faces and stomped around, this time every single timme I will be knocking on his door and complaining about every little thing.... childish I know.

Was sick on the wya into work today - horrible at 33 weeks.

Gingeme - hope DS is ok and you are not too knackered.

Nicky6 - try and take it a little bit easy.

mixedmama · 13/11/2007 09:20

Hey to everyone else.

gingeme · 13/11/2007 09:23

Morning ladies. ds4 woke again about 3am but thankfuly only for about half hour. dh soon settled him. Hes s till asleep now. Definately think it was trapped wind though as he didnt have symptoms of anything else like fever or smelly nappy. Oh well just have to se how he is when he wakes.
Baby been doing some strange turns too this morning. Maybe he was unsettled by his big brothers crying. I just thank goodness we dont have too many nights like last night. Touch wood(gingeme taps head) my boys have all been real good sleepers unless poorly
Got a big job on our hands today. You know you always have one of 'those' drawers in the kitchen that you put all your junk in? Like key rings youll never use. Fuses or batteries your not sure if theyre flat. Stuff like that. Well we have a whole cupboard like that time for a clear out as Im so sick of things falling and hitting me on the head or knowing full well something I need is in that cupboard but not being able to find it. Wonder what Ill discover today
Have a good day all xx

Amani · 13/11/2007 09:32

Lulubump - isn't there some sort of policy/law that states what the minimum temperature in an office should be and if it falls below that you are entitled to leave.

Mrs Biscuit - never heard of arnica.

Hope you are ok MM.

OP posts:
Lulubump · 13/11/2007 09:52

Sorry about the sickness MM, I know its awful! Glad you're feeling better about the BIL situation though.

Amani - there is some minimum temp but not really worth going home, as I have a meeting in another building all afternoon.

Gingeme - good luck with the junk cupboard! We moved house in August and are still sorting through all the stuff we have stored in the garage , so u definitely have my sympathies!

Mrs B - I have heard about Arnica tablets, and bought some from Boots for my labour bag. Apparently they are meant to be great for promoting healing and fading bruising - there are two levels of dosage that you can get over the counter at Boots, and if you want to get some, the higher dosage was recommended to me.

madmouse · 13/11/2007 10:04

Morning all

How did we all sleep? Thanks for those asking about my fall. I am fine, knee did not even bruise, just had some pain in my arms the next day from catching myself. It will teach me not to walk up stone steps in a dream world .

Just another two weeks at work after this one and things have just become a lot more chilled. My locum has started and he is someone from another office with experience already, so he came in yesterday and just got started, so I am just taking a back seat, support him where needed and do sone trouble shooting in other offices.

Feeling sorry for those who still have long to go at work and are really too tired to do so, and those with ill kiddies.

Beller, lol at your babylympics. Fingers crossed mine seems a night time sleeper. (I bet he will reverse it as soon as he is born)

madmouse · 13/11/2007 10:07

Lulubump can we swap? I am always hot and the central heating here is blasting away, would gladly swap it for the chance to wear my fleece indoors!

beller · 13/11/2007 10:27

Mrsbiscuit - yes i have heard of arnica..was reading about it last night in a pregnancy mag too will def get some xx

lulubump brrrrrrrr not good.....have you complained..and is there any warmth on the horizon??

Amani - glad you slept better xx

Mixedmamma - Glad you feel better about moving..not nice being sick on way in though...do you feel better now?

MAdmouse - s/he has carried on most of the morning.....think s/he has one foot under each rib Going for a swim in a sec to try and settle him/her

Gingeme - glad ds is feeling better xx

mixedmama · 13/11/2007 10:36

Have heard of Arnica tablets but only in terms of the name, didnt know what they were for, but sosunds like they are worth getting.

Felt better for the last couple of hours... but I can feel it again and know that I will be within the next ten mins... the new supervisor at work is not very understanding... I mmean she doesnt say anythign but ican just tell from her face.. could really do with being at home.

Naetha · 13/11/2007 10:40

Lulubump - re minimum temperatures: www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/temperature.htm

Also arnica is great for bruising and general healing. You can get the pills and also cream to rub on external bruising. For soreness (particularly good for nappy rash, burns, cuts and scrapes etc) hypercal cream is great - it's a mixture of hypericum and calendula - other homeopathic/herbal remedies.

Stepdad started work on the kitchen yesterday - came home to find no units or tiles left - couldn't believe how much bigger our kitchen looked! Can't wait until he starts fitting the new stuff

My lo seems to be getting hiccups two or three times a day now - I hope he's not gulping that amniotic fluid down!

Hope everyone is doing well with everything, and happy birthday to all those I've missed! I'm madly busy at work trying to get a planning application refused (industrial sabotage - gotta love it!) so sillily busy!

Still, all good fun

gingeme · 13/11/2007 10:42

ds seems his usual happy self today. Hope whatever it was has passed.
My aunty used to use Arnica cream on our bruises when we were younger. They were always realy black. I think it just speeds up the healing process.
Havnt started the cupboard yet. Just looking at i saying 'must do that cupboard'

madmouse · 13/11/2007 10:46

Beller are you sure, swimming is an olympic sport, you will give your lo ideas .

My babbit and I play 'make the pen dance' where I put a pen on the top of my bump and he makes it jump up and down

susiemj · 13/11/2007 10:49

Hi everyone,

Sorry not to catch up properly yet again. Have enjoyed reading all your posts.

Mrs Biscuit - Jamon! Jamon! I'm going to eat tonnes. Did you know it's not forbidden in Spain? MIL at it with all 5. I didn't have the courage to though.

I don't know about taking the tablets of ARnica, but i do know the cream is fabulous for bruises. We discovered it when Dad got hit in the face with a cricket ball the day before having to brave U.S. customs. His face was one black bruise with some stitches in the middle until we used the Arnica. After 90 minutes it looked like a two week old bruise. It's incredible. I've already packed some for after the birth.

Naetha - how do you know when LO has hiccups. It sounds so cute! I want some!

Awen - was inspired by you to have a look at number of days in i-am-pregnant.com. I've got 58 left - and it certainly feels like I've been pregnant for 222 days!

Will try and do a proper catch-up later. Am going out for first haircut in over 7 months. Yay!

Happy belated birthdays, from me too.....

MamaMaiasaura · 13/11/2007 10:55

fantastic catch up MRs Mc Congratualtions to your friend who has a little girl. IS she ok, hows baby? What name (nosey arent i? ). Sure dp will be cuddly with baby.

Mixedmamma is it morning sickness still or do you have a bug?

Gingeme - I hope you get some more sleep tonight.

Re Arnica, i didnt get the tablets, i just got the cream to put on the areas..

Am knackered, spoke to dr today who said it is just likely to be because i am preg. My 28 week blood showed haemaglobin at 11.6,normal is 11.5 upwards. Wonder if now 33 weeks if it has fallen. Must eat more choc

fluffymummy · 13/11/2007 10:59

Hi everyone , off to Glasgow again in a bit, so will be offline mostly until Friday...got several heavy meetings and a big presentation to give on Thursday

But if MrsMc or Ayrshirelolo (or anyone else!!) are around tomorrow evening and want to meet for a coffee around 5.30/6pm (or something much healthier?) - how about meeting at Grassroots? Thats about a 10 min walk from my office, so I can get there by then If you can make it, post something shouting and I'll check tonight and again tomorrow around 5

My doula recommended Arnica tablets last time (and I had a huuuuge epesiotomy!), and they certainly didn't hurt. Will definitely be stocking up again on them this time around...not sure you'd want to be putting the cream directly onto the stitches

Love to all, got to run to the airport...

xx

mixedmama · 13/11/2007 11:01

Dunno amani... i took my first iron tablet this morning and then was sick a while after... hadnt had brekkie so thought it might be that but have since eaten and just now been sick again so not sure. feel so rubbish.. wnat to go home but the supervisor is just so not really approachable.
