Wow new thread!

Hello everyone! Have caught up again!

Families - aggh!! Mine fortunately live miles and miles away but it does mean 2 hour visits are not feasible, so family normally stay a couple of days at our house. DH always has Xmas on Boxing Day with his ds, we normally go to PILs and have a little xmas party there with others of DH's family. But obviously can't do that this year. So PILs offered to pick DSS up and bring him up as I don't want DH to take the 3 hour round trip to go get him, and also if I went into labour when dss is visiting we'd have to get him home again. So PILs have been told that they can come up boxing day, picking dss on the way but dh will be talking to them to explain that he doesn't want them hanging on until after the baby's born, though I don't mind if they want to make a quick hospital visit (depending on what time frame we are looking at) but I want to come home to an empty house.

Bit of excitement last night, had terrible trouble sleeping what with DH's incredibly noisy chesty cough and I simply couldn't get comfy. If I lay on my right side, my tummy hurt. If I lay on my left side my tummy hurt. So I tried on my back but propped up on pillows. And then - Turtle moved! Not the usual arm & leg waving and kicking me type movements, I felt the whole baby move . I think it is no longer perpendicular to my spine and is now parallel - hopefully head down! DH said he could see the difference this morning, my waist has retured and bump is lower!

Amani · 17/10/2007 08:32

Morning all!

Feeling good today - had a wonderful nights sleep and only woke up once for about 10 mins and then drifted off. Feel so full of energy today !! (see how long that lasts!)

Got tests results back from m/w and iron levels are good and tested negative for cholestasis.

Bouncy - that must have been a strange sensation to feel the whole baby move!

insywinsyspider · 17/10/2007 09:43

morning

amani - glad you had a lovely nights sleep I'm struggling and dh is complaining of too many pillows in the bed, back ache today - the front of my bump has got all squishy so think baby is back to back, am just hoping its the right way up
also great news on your blood results

furryfox - ds is great thank you - was updating his photo album last night and he was really interested in the pictures of himself as a newborn kept pointing and signing baby (rocking movement of arms - very cute) we had our first 'chat' about the new baby but I know he won't get it - looking forward to taking the spare room apart and moving baby furniture in and maybe that help him understand that somethings changing - a the moment he's just developed a habit of lifting his t-shirt and patting his belly, dh says its to tell me I'm getting huge

buzzy - I'm off to a spa day next week, my best friend has booked us in, never done it before but she's booked me a mum-to-be full body massage for an hour - so looking forward to it

beckle - hope you're having a better day today and looking forward to your week off next week

Morning All!

Amani, lucky you with the good sleep. It makes a difference doesn't it. Mine was slightly interrupted by DH going 'wooooo' in his sleep. He never usually sleep talks, must be because its near halloween!

fifisworld · 17/10/2007 10:19

Morning everyone
Im very at those who have been sleeping well. Ds was awake at 1am, 2.30 and 6 this morning for some reason, which he never normally does, and of course dp didnt hear a thing
He just said this morning 'you look tired today'

kerioke · 17/10/2007 10:46

right then... seeing as i wasnt missed i thought i should make the effort to write more often!!! (only messing) i do read this thread several times a day and i give answers in my head... i just dont get round to typing them out lol but i am firmly here!

BOUNCING - i reckon from what you described (especially the drop in bump) that little one is engaging... my last ds did this at 33 weeks and stayed there til h came out at 37 weeks.... exciting!

feels like we are really getting somewhere now one minute, then the next it seems to drag. i know its made worse as i have spd and dont get out much like before, feel like me and toddler are couped up alone all day! i know we are nearly there though, ive been suffering since 15 weeks with this so a few more wont hurt! we are still hoping not to go to term though as lo is measuring big (though previous births have confirmed 'big babies' often turn out far from it!) anything after 36/37 weeks would be helpful!but hey cant pick and choose, he'll come when he's ready.

have decided to get myself organised with weekly lists to help pass time... probably going to bore you, but though others may find it useful in passing time too??:

next week: finish baby shopping
week two: re-wash hospital bag items and re pack
week three: remove tags off baby clothes, wash and store
week four: write xmas lists
week five: write xmas cards, plan xmas cooking and devorating days for boys
week six: re-wash baby clothes (if he not here yet) start buying xmas list items
week seven etc: continue xmas shopping until all bought and wrapped or until baby is here. (leave items that an be brought online or mailordered as other half can easily do that bit if i get busy with a baby!)

i doubt i'll stick to these lists but if i dont have them i know what will happen, my last son was due jan 06 and came 3 weeks early on 20th dec... i was in pre'labour for 3 weeks so xmas ended up being a mad rush on xmas eve with stitches and breast feeding... not somehting i would like to repeat! lol

Amani · 17/10/2007 10:51

Kerioke - you're like me - seem to favour the Xmas time to have a baby!

fifisworld · 17/10/2007 10:57

I missed you Kerioke

I like the idea of making lists actually.
Ive already started washing bits and peices for ds2 and have them put away. Im alsogoing to start and sort out our stuff as well. We moved in july and still have stuff in bags pushed into cupboards and stuff so thats my mission for the next couple of weeks.
Ive got most of ds1's xmas presents and we are going to go shopping at the end of the month and do all our xmas shopping so that we can relax once ds2 is here.

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 11:14

Ohhh I love lists.... in fact I have made lists and timetables and things for WHEN the baby is here. Ridiculous in so many ways and I talk about it all regularly to DH and he just laughs at me.

insywinsyspider · 17/10/2007 11:28

if you ladies love lists then check this out www.organised-mum.co.uk I ordered one a couple of weeks ago and due to postal strike it arrived this week and its fab - even has pages for Xmas lists and you can order pregnancy stickers for keeping track of date - I am that sad!

Amani · 17/10/2007 11:40

incy - I love the little 'reward stickers' on that website. £1 - what a bargin!

dundeemarmalade · 17/10/2007 11:49

oooh the stickers are fab!

had mw appt yesterday, bump measures bang on for weeks but niblet is bum-down. she said not to worry, but it's hard not to! sympathy for becklespookle with bladder/delicate internal lady parts being used as target practice. have tried kneeling with bottom in air but hasn't shifted the little bugger yet...

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:11

That site is fab - I could get really carried away. But I have filofax that DH bought me a few years ago and have had two calendars in the post so if I cant manage with those then he might flip out. So tempted by the the little books.... i love little books.

claireybee · 17/10/2007 12:17

Furryfox and Lizzer-make that triplets, I am also due Dec 10th.
Saw the consultant this morning (the midwife sent me cos my bmi is low but he thought that was completely irrelevant so spent a lot of time wondering what I was doing there). Anyway, I am still measuring (fundal height) 2 weeks small, although that does at least mean i have grown 2 weeks worth in the last 2 weeks, so I have another growth scan next week, and then the consultant again the week after. He thinks we'll probably keep on like that unless baby has a massive growth spurt. So yay for lots of scans! But boo for being under consultant care, cos if i do have to keep seeing him it means i'll have to have a consultant birth as well, which means going up to Bristol not staying in Weston, and is v v different to the hippy type birth I had with dd

FrankAwenstein · 17/10/2007 12:18

love the new title

FrankAwenstein · 17/10/2007 12:19

kerioke - fab list. Will def need to follow your example there and get organised. Scan on Monday, will see how this little boy is growing.

Neuro · 17/10/2007 12:30

I'm around Suey2. Been lurking or avoiding computers as been glued to various Nip Tuck seasons and getting square eyes....

Everyone OK?

Bouncingturtleskulls · 17/10/2007 12:46

Hey Neuro!

Kerioke - going to see Mw week on Thursday, so will find out then for sure

insywinsyspider · 17/10/2007 12:55

quick poll - when are you packing your hospital bag? hoping for home birth but need to pack one just in case and over night bag for ds...

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 13:02

Have been randomly throwing things into it but i guess will pack properly around 35 weeks when i am off on mat leave.

Amberooni · 17/10/2007 13:03

LOL MM, you know I spent nearly 3 hours last night making lists and routines.... Will mostly be useless, but at least making the lists makes me feel organised...

Neuro · 17/10/2007 13:05

Hi Bouncingturtle!

Amberooni · 17/10/2007 13:05

My hospital suitcase bag will contain so much, including pillow, hot water bottle etc. I have a list but I don't think it will fit on the thread!!

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 13:05

exactly makes me feel better....

insywinsyspider · 17/10/2007 13:12

am making a job list now (beats real work) not on mat leave till 38 wks... think it needs to be done before then.... also note to self not to go overboard like last time, I had enough for a weeks holiday
