Hi all!
Insy, I am at the insurance companies! Grr, they just look for more ways to take money from us I think. Glad I'm not the only one who enjoys the ironing only I don't stand and do it, I sit! Bliss, couple of free hours, a pile of ironing, bottle of vaporesse and something decent on TV (watched loads of films while ironing that would never have had the time to watch any other time).
Puppydogstails & Suey, sorry you are both having rubbish days.
I have signed the online petition. I have never been tested for Group B Strep and I think its awful that mothers and babies are put at risk. A friend of mine is a carrier but did not know and her first baby ended up in special care a few hours after his birth because of it - how scary! Surely its better to routinely test to prevent such things happening?
I wonder if we should bring back the old list where we are in due date order now that we are getting closer to D-Day? I always get muddled with who's due when!

insywinsyspider · 18/10/2007 13:12

I haven't really told that many people about my PND so I don't really know what people I know think. I just feel for people when they make stupid comments - my aunt has downs syndrome and its the same with that so I understand about friends saying stupid things about your brother although people do think depression is not really an illness and we kind of cause it ourselves

My strategy this time is less lists and a bit more going with the flow - I think I should take your making an effort part of the list tho, the hv made me really cry when she asked if I wore the same clothes for days on end (part of edinburgh scale) and I realised I did and I was really proud of myself for just getting out of my pj's!

insywinsyspider · 18/10/2007 13:15

beckle - I agree with old list, I was trying to work out the order

mixedmama · 18/10/2007 13:17

The HV asked you that... that would make me cry even if I did manage to actually get changed. I think for me I felt so out of control, like everyone else was in charge that I dont want that to happen again.... I have never actually told anyone that I thought i might actually be depressed but just the things I used to talk about and get upset about used to just get swept under thie carpet... to this day I am sure Dh still thinks I was just being a cow.

I wish I had had mumsnet as it would really have helped to speak to people who dont necessarily know you so cannot be quite so judgemental.

good work fifi... that must have taken some trawling...

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 13:23

It was 3 threads back, seems like ages ago

becklespookle · 18/10/2007 13:25

Well done Fifi! Looking at those dates really brings it home that some of you are due in 6 weeks! (you lucky things)

claraq · 18/10/2007 13:46

Becklespookle - I am due in 6 weeks and 2 days - hurrah! I don't feel ready for it but I am really looking forward to it now. For most of my pregnancy I have been quite dreading it as I think the first few weeks (months/years) with two will be really hard. But pregnancy at this point is so hard now, at least when I have the baby I will also have my DH at home for a while to help out.

I was violently sick this morning after breakfast; is anyone else still being sick? It is only the 3rd time I have been sick in this pregnancy - once per trimester, so very neat.

Btw looking at that list reminds me - does anyone remember Conniedescending who was on this thread for a while? I only remember her because she joined just after writing a long rant against Mumsnet and how she hated it - which was one of the first things I read about the site and was quite enlightening!

Finally anyone know where Skidaddle is? Not like her to be this quiet for this long....

Wizzska · 18/10/2007 13:49

Yes, 6 weeks - eek! [knaws fingernails down to the bone] 4 weeks til Mat leave - at least that's a nice prospect.

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 13:56

Oh my god im scared now, my double buggy came this morning and ive just took it out the box and started crying.
2 babies!!!!!! How did this happen

Amani · 18/10/2007 14:00

Fifi are you expecting twins??

Will be strange for me as some of you might have had your babies, before I even start m/l!

mixedmama · 18/10/2007 14:01

I am not buying a double buggy until LO gets here and I realise I cant live without it or something...

Was skid going anywhere, can we remember???

I dont remember that person waht was the rant about tell all.

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 14:02

No but ds is only 18 months so needed a double buggy for him as he runs off so will need the double for if im out on my own, ive still got ds's mamas and papas pram from when he was a baby which we dont really use now and his light buggy that i take out all the time.

Amani · 18/10/2007 14:03

Fifi - my dd (21 mths) refused to sit in a buggy from about 20 mnths and prefers to push it around town instead!

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 14:05

Ds will still go in his at first, but if you let him walk then try and put him back he goes mad.
The double buggy will only probably get used if im going out into town or know i'll be out all day on my own.
When dp is off or im with anyone else ds can walk and i'll just take his old pushchair out with me

insywinsyspider · 18/10/2007 14:07

fifi - my ds is 17mo now - we got the Phil and teds buggy so I could kid myself its not actually a double at the moment which buggy did you get?

beckle - 6 weeks thats when I finish work, its 8 wks and 4 days for me
don't remember connie - what did she say?

mixedmama · 18/10/2007 14:08

That sounds like a good plan..

I need to learn to drive for the new year as well as that will really help.

Ditto amani my DS loves to push the buggy.

mixedmama · 18/10/2007 14:11

I finish work on 30 November and cannot wait. Not due till 31 December tho, but I am finding it all far too hard at the moment and really want to get some good quality time in with DS before LO arrives.

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 14:14

Its the cossato duet lite, i wanted a cheapish one as like i said it wont get used all the time, and i wanted one with ds in the front so he wont disturb the baby which he would in a side by side one.
Its not that much bigger than his m&p pram really and seems ok. Some of them are huge and i dont drive so i need to be able to get it on and off the bus.

This may or may not be the link to Connie's Mumsnet is shit post - I have never posted a link before so apologies if it doesn't work....

claraq · 18/10/2007 14:20

wow I think it worked, I must be more techy than I realised! Anyway I would not expect anyone to read it all as it is 1,000+ posts!! But I wondered what happened to her - did she give up on Mumsnet altogether?

fifisworld · 18/10/2007 14:25

I cant remember seeing that one, a bit too long to read it all.
In fact i cant remember seeing her on here at all

suey2 · 18/10/2007 14:30
