Why is that?

boobs or belly not itchy though - so I shall quit moaning

Hi everyone - Friday!!!
Thanks lemonaid for tip on how to get the thread back to normal.
I've just had a Drs appointment and heard heart beat very clearly, which was more exciting than I thought it would be. Last night was starting to panic with DH horribly about how we are going to cope, but heartbeat has made it seems a bit better!

EllieG · 26/10/2007 10:37

Ah that's nice sagitta - I had my consultant appt yesterday and was lovely hearing little hearbeat going.

Denny185 · 26/10/2007 11:17

thanks for the tip demonaid was v confused with that screen, not that it takes v much with pregnant brain, in fact normal brain as well

scorpio1 · 26/10/2007 11:20

this really confused me-easily done at the moment me thinks!

i went to pg yoga on tuesday-felt the best i have done in absolutely ages.

How is everyone? i am having a quiet day at home, having done a mountain of ironing already!

ToastAddict · 26/10/2007 11:40

Hmmmmm, don't like this new layout. Despite trying to customise my talk board and choosing to be a miserable, stuck-in-the past old bint, it doesn't seem to save my changes (despite clicking "save"), so next time I open the internet, I am stuck back at the beginning of the thread

Can I ask a question, to either the done-it-all-before ladies or the more-knowledgable-than-me newbies? What position am I allowed to sleep in? Can I still sleep on my back? If it's comfy (which incredibly, it occasionally is), can I lie on my front, or will that hurt the baby? I'm 15 weeks today, if that's relevant. And I read somewhere that lying on your left side is better for you than lying on your right (when pg) - does it really matter?

I'm finding it hard enough to sleep right now, all these restrictions just make it harder, and I don't want to be making life harder for myself than I need to!!

Many thanks
x

smcg · 26/10/2007 11:44

Scorpio, you sound very efficient!

Meant to say yesterday that for itchy legs, rashes, etc, Trilogy Everything Balm is good. I got it from hqhair.com.

Have a good weekend.

Lorayn · 26/10/2007 12:10

Toastaddict you can sleep how you want, it wont affect the baby.

scorpio1 · 26/10/2007 12:18

sleep how you like at the mo, although later on try to lie on your left side as the baby wont squash the veins providing the nourishment, etc. but thats not until like 30 ish weeks. i cant lie on my back, feels too heavy!

smcg-ds1 teacher this week said to me 'you always appear so unflappable'. i do flap on the inside, i promise!

Denny185 · 26/10/2007 12:23

Toastaddict - def sleep however is comfy! There was a phase a few years ago of advising not to sleep on your back further on in the preg due to baby squashing your blood supply but decided its negligable and not relevant in maj cases so fill your boots.
The left side to right side thing is to do with assisting blood flow in and out of heart - if blood pressure drops they advise to lay on the left.

scorpio1 · 26/10/2007 13:19

ooh and i thought of a girls name we like - Teagan. like? Think we are having Blake William for a boy.

demonaid · 26/10/2007 13:40

If it's comfortable you can sleep how you like. As you go on sleeping on your back can be iffy (as a result of pressure on blood vessels) as can sleeping on your front (as a result of pressure on uterus) but it will get uncomfortable long, long before you reach the point where it could theoretically be dangerous.
