Lol peachy, so my 8 week prem baby was not much less than one of your term babies, great, she was huge.
hahaha

demonaid · 23/10/2007 13:59

DS was 10lb 5.3oz, and I'm going for a VBAC this time...

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 23/10/2007 14:01

he was 38.5 weeks LOL Lorayn but he did have IUGR.

Goodness knows what yours'd have weighed LOL

EllieG · 23/10/2007 14:24

I've just bought a fisher price rocker thing which is only 6months old really cheaply from a friend! Hurray I love this new shopping.

Rainbowdays · 23/10/2007 15:07

Sorry I have been MIA for so long from here, having difficulty keeping up with you all!!!!

I was really worried that I had lost this one a few weeks back, but fortunately everything seems to be ok and I am just beginning to take in the fact that my #3 is steadily growing big and strong.

looking at the chat on double buggies, I only had 15 months between my first two, but never needed a double buggy. sling, then buggy-board solution for me worked well.

I will try to keep up with you again now I am back with internet access.

EllieG · 23/10/2007 16:11

Hey rainbowdays - long time no speak, glad all is well with you

scorpio1 · 23/10/2007 16:53

jaq39 · 23/10/2007 17:18

Hi all, It is a glorious day here (edinburgh) had my DS at the park for ages and now he is sound asleep! yaaaay! An hour to myself, do I sleep or do I prepare dinner !

Thanks for advice on buggies second hand is a good idea and I didnt even think of buggyboards - I might just stick to buggyboard idea as I use the car quite a lot anyway x

Mollyfloss · 23/10/2007 17:44

Hi all,

Just catching up on everyone's news. I've been busy over the past few days trying to find us a new apartment. We put in an offer to rent one which I really like. The landlord is still deciding - hope to get a positive reply by tomorrow, fingers crossed!

I have been feeling generally good. I have a huge appetite though. I'm constantly eating! I haven't really felt the baby move, just some sort of bubbly feeling at times but I think that could be food digesting. Does anyone else get that? I'm 15.5 weeks now.

I have no idea about buggies an that sort of thing. I had a look around at the baby show at Earls court and realised just how much stuff I need! By the way I think you should get second hand stuff wherever you can, as long as it works for you. Nobody should care about keeping up with the Jones'. the baby certainly doesn't care. Does any of us remember what kind of buggy we had when we were toddlers!? Anyway, even if you have tons of money it's better for the environment to recycle stuff

beeper · 23/10/2007 17:45

Hi,

My due date is 28ish of April...maybe sooner.

I have one DS who is 8.5yrs old.

This is my fifth pregnancy, 2m/cs and and ectopic.

In shock as thought I was finished.

loisstella · 23/10/2007 18:28

I just laughed out loud at all you guys getting as impatient with not feeling bubba move as me (and jelaous of those bragging 'washing up' ladies)
My favourite quote was "switching TV off and lying really quietly..." jaq39 you made my day!

loisstella · 23/10/2007 18:35

EllieG - about friend with bugaboo - i'm principally against these "Surrey show off buggies" (sorry if that offended anyone from Surrey or with bugaboo... but the nonsense and 'peer pressure' of this "pram envy" is making me mad) and second-hand strollers are absolutelly fine! My best buddie just got second hand bugaboo frame for £150 and just bought new kit.

For those who were considering a three wheeler: We bought a Phil & Ted last weekend after my friend wouldn't stop raving about them (she has a 2 year and 9 month old - and loves that she just had to buy the 'double kit' rtaher than a whole new stroller and when it is a double buggy it actually fits on the bus).

Mollyfloss · 23/10/2007 18:48

Bugaboos, mamas & papas, phil & teds etc. I haven't a clue what is the difference between all of these!!! I've been looking at them on the internet every time one of you mentions a brand. I'm totally at a loss. I'll need to get my head around all of this before I make any purchases. does anyone know of a shop in London where they sell all the different brands and have experts who can explain the pros and cons of each one? I'll have the same problem with cots, slings chairs etc. HELP!!!!

loisstella · 23/10/2007 18:54

Mollyflos - its a bit fancy but on the Kings road there's a shop called Daisy & Tom - they have a fair amount of prams and you can test them all. They (as quite posh) have plenty of staff and will also make time to explain to you.
A good place to get acquinted maybe?

Mollyfloss · 23/10/2007 19:00

Ooh yes, I know that shop. Very cute looking place, has tons of toys too. Thanks! Any other suggestions are very much appreciated

Itssocold · 23/10/2007 21:31

EllieG · 24/10/2007 09:03

Ho ho ho. Have you been a good little girl?

Hi beeper - welcome to the thread. Here's to an uneventful pregnancy!

Soph73 · 24/10/2007 09:30

Morning all. Welcome to beeper Off to the midwife in a mo, she´ll be weighing me (gulp!) so not really looking forward to that, especially as I feel really heavy today. Good luck today Scorpio When anyone mentions Xmas at the moment I put my fingers in my ears {{saunters off, fingers in ears, la la la ladi da}}

Sheds75 · 24/10/2007 09:38

Morning All, what a glorious sunny (but chilly) morning. Just love this time of year I'm also in a fab mood this morning, and am going to the midwife today so all is good at the mo.

demonaid · 24/10/2007 10:08

You know those passages in James Herriot books where he finds a cow in awful distress and inserts a tube into her intestines to release the pressure of built-up gas? I wish someone would do that to me...

Sheds75 · 24/10/2007 10:11

LOL, nearly covered my laptop in coffee, sorry Demonaid you have my simpathy

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/10/2007 10:22

Hi All,

Pushchairs ahhhhhhh

I have had a Phil & teds E3, a Jane powertrac and a bugaboo as well as a mutsy and a maclaren xlr, a mamas and papas pliko, a micralite, a mamas & papas luna and a nipper 360 ans a quinny Buzz - went a bit wild!

I have just bought a mamas & papas pramette in Boston check for this little one and I am going to keep it for the whole duration (I promise) if Max was a little smaller (he will be 3+10months when baby is born) i would have gone for the new Phil & teds as they have got rid of all the things that were a problem on the first but as Max walks and will just need to pop on the step (which is built in on the pramette) it made more sense to go for the M&P. Also with Max only a few of his buggys were brand new when I got them only the Mutsy, the Micralite and the M&P luna all the rest were second hand so were half the price of a new one! but for this bump I wanted his/her's first pushchair to be new and only theirs if that makes sense

So if anyone wants first hand info on any of the above please let me know

EllieG · 24/10/2007 10:31

LOL demonaid - you made me snort in a very unladylike manner, which made it very obvious I was not doing my work

Sheds75 · 24/10/2007 10:38

TLSM, in your experienced opinion which of those you've had are the best?
