New thread for you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
merryberry · 12/11/2007 18:05

am considering shoving this 39 page form up my jumper and winning the november 'bloody nora look at the size of that bump!' contest...

glammama · 12/11/2007 18:24

You might get more money that way, tight fisted gits. Sorry, in a bad mood. Think I have low blood sugar........I know a piece of granary bread is better than a Double Decker but hey, I'm going for the confectionery. It's blinking freezing here. Poor DP is driving from Herts to Essex to the City to home on his bike. So, I don't feel so cold when I think of that.

merryberry · 12/11/2007 18:54

blinks< motorbike i take, or you have some kind of cycling freak dp ?

glammama · 12/11/2007 19:00

lol Merryberry! No DP is the owner of a massive Yamaha. He's motorbike courier. He's also studying to be a counsellor so he has that irrestible combination of being quite macho but also very sensitive and sweet. (Sorry, here's the sick bucket.)

modsaluk · 12/11/2007 20:39

Good evening all wow Christmas is nearly here i am feeling the twins more and more its lovely and i had to choose my meal for our works xmas party i love prawn cocktail do you think i will be ok to have it just this once ?

HolidaysQueen · 12/11/2007 21:37

modsaluk - i got such a craving for prawns last week that i simply had to cave in, and my baby is still very jolly in my tummy so i'm assuming it was all okay

PurlyQueen · 12/11/2007 21:50

I refuse to give up prawns and my little one is fine!
In fact, I fancy a prawn madras curry now as I have a cold and need something hot to help unblock my nose.

monthlymayhem · 12/11/2007 23:03

Glad to hear everyone is feeling so full of beans! I'm feeling pretty good too. I managed to do a pilates class and a gym session yesterday, followed by a legs, bums and tums (minus the tums bit for me) class tonight. Although as a result I've stuffed my face and probably undone all that effort..

Was at my friends house yesterday who has a 10 wk old baby and it was a bit of a reality check! The romantic notion that baby is fed, then sleeps contentedly until convenient that (s)he wakes up really isn't true is it! Midwife appt tomorrow - I know this is probably sad but I get really excited and look forward to any midwife appts as it kind of rubber stamps the fact that I am actually pregnant!

As for bump, my tummy has definitely expanded over the last week or so, although still doesn't look like a bump as such, more as though I'm a bit podgy!

gingercat12 · 13/11/2007 08:49

Monthlymayhem That sounds like a lot of exercise to me. Well done!

ClaphamLauren I put up a bump photo on my profile. But everyone, please, be nice to me. It is only my tum that is so big.

At last LO showed himself to his Dad!!! I think he must have been having the hiccups and could not stop for a while.

HolidaysQueen · 13/11/2007 08:54

I got a compliment on my bump (of sorts) from DH this morning. I've had this sort of spare tyre of flab for a while - basically my usual tummy 'insulation' has been pushed up as the baby has grown. Anyway today DH saw me in shower and announced that spare tyre has now gone and that I have a completely smooth bump. I suppose that's a compliment, right?

I did something weird to a muscle (either bottom of my back or top of my bum - not yet sure which) while exercising a few weeks ago and aggravated it last night at Brownies when I was up and down on my knees all evening helping them with stuff. Consequently I kept having spasms yesterday evening, yelped a lot and ended up in bed sat on a hot water bottle Maybe I should give up exercise...

ClaphamLauren · 13/11/2007 09:39

A back handed compliment HQ but a compliment none the less.

Aww gingercat, I've just posted my bump pics on my profile, you won't feel enormous after seeing how massive I am! I feel like an elephant

gingercat12 · 13/11/2007 09:59

I think it is beautiful, CL.

HolidaysQueen · 13/11/2007 10:03

Oooh - loving the bump photos, ladies!!! Will have to get DH to take an arty shot of mine tonight now it is officially a proper bump in his eyes

e14mum · 13/11/2007 10:43

i too am bumposaurus. love the pics ladies!

skidoodle · 13/11/2007 12:32

LOL @ bumposaurus

Loving the bump pictures. mine is smaller than that at the moment. It's quite notieceable when I'm naked but when I'm dressed (depending on what I'm wearing) I think I'm in the "is she?/isn't she?" phase.

re: wine - I had none at all until quite recently. Just didn't fancy it at all. More recently I have been in the mood and have had a few glasses, never more than one at a time and aiming for 1-unit glass like HQ.

@turtle, that's so nice that you get kickings when your DH sings to your bump (so sweeet). I wish mine would do that

monthlymayhem · 13/11/2007 12:49

The bump pictures are fab! I'm only 22 weeks today so am expecting a bit of a growth spurt over the next couple of weeks. Bump has definitely expanded a bit over the last week or so already, but still not really bump-like iykwim. If I can work out how to attach photos I'll get DH to take one and add it on.

Have been going a bit ebay mad over the weekend and got very cute little pictures for the nursery, curtain tiebacks and a moses basket and stand for bargain prices

Brazilianmum · 13/11/2007 13:20

Haven't posted for ages and you've all been very chatty as usual. Love the bump pictures and CL yours looks lovely all round. Mine is not totally smooth but it's there. At 24+4 I am sure it will grow a lot from now.

I love feeling him move around, he is so active. The only thing that is worrying me is the stiches type pain I get sometimes when walking. I literally ave to stop and take a few deep breaths and it goes away. Anyone getting that as well?

ClaphamLauren · 13/11/2007 13:58

Thanks for the kind comments ladies. More bump pics please! I am obsessed with how normal I am compared to others... Think because I'm fairly short my bump just goes outwards

Brazilianmum - I get a stitch type feeling to the bottom right of the bump when I walk for more than two minutes! It really hurts and I have to kind of hold it! What is your EDD?

Mumsnet has officially taken over from Facebook as my favourite idling away time tool.

Brazilianmum · 13/11/2007 14:06

My edd according to hospital is 27 Feb. But I doubt the little one will come out before the begining of march.

preggersagain · 13/11/2007 14:14

loving the bump pics ladies- i shall attempt to fit my space hopper sized belly into a single camera frame tonight and post the results in the morning!

Other than that is everyone ok? Hopefully getting a bit more energy now.

timmyinatizzy · 13/11/2007 14:23

I have more energy today than yesterday, but that is probably down to being up for 2 hours on Monday morning with dsd2 being sick, and having to clean it off the carpet at 1.30 in the morning. But had a semi relaxing day off with dsd2 yesterday instead of work. Dp chooses the right time to go to Munich on work

e14mum · 13/11/2007 14:43

Brazillianmum and ClaphamLauren- on the subject of stiches at bottom of bumps, have you seen this?

merryberry · 13/11/2007 14:46

there's mentio of an eyewatering 10lb 12 /12 oz baby on that thread.

need a little lie down now.

derah · 13/11/2007 14:52

I posted this on the bump stitch thread....

I get this too while out walking the dogs (with 2yo DD strapped to my back) - feels like overworked muscles/ligaments to me (I know this from back when I was fit and worked out a lot - those were the days!). Probably nothing to worry about but very annoying when it makes walking difficult.

Must take a pump pic to share with you all.

We picked up my birth pool this weekend... all very exciting!

Right, enough slacking, I'm supposed to be dusting [unimpressed emoticon]

HolidaysQueen · 13/11/2007 15:23

I've had these sorts of aches and pains since about 10 weeks. It always goes away after a nice sit down and a cup of tea, and it's always at its worst on a Monday night after I've been bouncing around looking after Brownies all evening. It is also really bad after lots of walking. It's so predictable that I've decided it's not worth worrying about it, but boy it really does hurt sometimes!

Just had my first "random person noticing I'm pregnant" experience - I was stood making tea in the office and somebody said "you're so lucky still being able to drink tea". I didn't have a clue what she meant until she explained she was 14 weeks pregnant and can't stomach tea or coffee at the moment. I don't think she would have heard on the grapevine that I'm pregnant (our office is very big with several hundred people around and lots of people visiting from other sites etc.) so I think I just had my first experience of somebody looking at my bump and deciding it's definitely baby and not just flab!
