New thread for you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
feedmenow · 01/11/2007 16:25

Typical! I typed a big long post, and when I tried to post it the connection went down! Bluddy internet!

Anyway, will re-type but mayeb shorter....

Congrats to you preggers! Shop away....

E14, I don't recall that I ever saw the same midwife twice, let alone knowing the one that was with me in labour! If you want some sort of familiarity, maybe look at hiring a doula!
I am on a thread in pregnancy about gender and heart rate and am currently conducting my own experiement. I have been noting the heartrate weekly from 16 weeks and plan to find out the sex at 22 week scan on 13th. I have to say, I don't actually believe it is true (particularly as I reckon the heart rate must gradually get slightly slower as the baby grows - something which, so far, is happening for mine) but it doesn't hurt to investigate!

And should anyone find the Cheeky Moo thread, please let me know so that I can grovel profusely to the poor lady I "disturbed"!!

MerlinsBeard · 01/11/2007 16:29

congrats Preggers!!! equilibrium(sp?) is restored!

We found out today that its another boy :0 am actually really really happy! DP a bit gutted i think. Have found out i have low lying placenta so have to be rescanned at 32 weeks and probably have section. HB is def out

MarchMum · 01/11/2007 16:34

my LO just strated kicking like MAD since i've been online - think she's excited at Amelia and Carys....

glammama · 01/11/2007 17:01

Congratulations to all of you. Wow, preggersagain identical girls!
Thanks Turtle for posting my news, wahey a little boy for me!! DD surprisingly took the news very well. And DP is so relieved to not be outnumbered. I'm ever so pleased as I love little boys and I feel very lucky. With DD I SO wanted a little girl, and I got one and this time I've got a little boy. Also, I don't need to feel too guilty about forcing DP to find out gender. Turns out he saw the massive willy 10 mins before we were told. Obviously, DP would see a massive one!!!!
The bad news is that I may have to have a section as all my reproductive organs are retroverted (backwards) and uterus and placenta are so low baby is practically down by my knees. Mumofmonsters I have to have the scan then as well. And Dr said no sex . I did clarify that it was only penetration (sorry ladies, maybe tmi )I have to avoid I don't think I can bear it.... second opinions please. merryberry I am also careful about sneezing/coughing/talking/breathing with my legs crossed. And apparently because of the position of uterus, pelvic floor exercises won't help me. So I better stock up on my Tena Ladies now!
I have to see an anaesthetist (sp) as well so he/she can plan on getting the BIG needle set ready!!! I'm not that massive! The doctors are always a little unsure about me as because of my weight I'm supposed to be having all the problems they have in their textbooks. But, for now, I am so healthy that I think they're a little pissed off! Sorry, little rant there!
Good luck to all of you who are yet to have scans...
Anybody familiar with the Swaddleaze sleeping bags? They look quite good but I have no idea....
Crikey, what a long one sorry!

ClaphamLauren · 01/11/2007 17:08

Wow - three c sections on this thread! Congrats on your little boy Glamma.

When have they suggested they do yours? 39 weeks?

glammama · 01/11/2007 18:27

Hi CL! How are you doing? I am booked for a scan on 4th Feb and they will decide then if I need a section and when it will be. Drs and sonographers seem to think I'm going to have a whopper of a baby. DP is very broad shouldered, 6 foot and has a big head!!!! Although I'm pretty fat I'm only 5 ft 2 so don't know how baby is going to fit in. Hence the 46 week scan.

glammama · 01/11/2007 18:28

46 weeks!!!! Gosh no, obviously I meant 34 weeks!!!

glammama · 01/11/2007 18:29

No, I meant 36 weeks!!! My oxygen has been diverted from brain to baby's feet, ouch!! And ouch again.

turtle23 · 01/11/2007 20:56

Have just been sitting here getting very worried about friend who didn't turn up for dinner tonight. She finally returned my calls to say that she was still coming to dinner...next Thursday as agreed.

timmyinatizzy · 01/11/2007 20:57

preggers congrats on the girls. The pink fairy dust worked then

Congrats to everyone else too on their scans. Mine is tomorrow at 2.40. So exicted about seeing Junior again. Think I will find out, but we will keep it a secret from everyone, except you guys of course.

Had a good few weeks, dp and I have arranged our wedding for 21st December, and we have had an offer accepted on a 3 bed house and have accepted an offer on our 2 bed house. Its all happening quite quickly my head is spinning. Its a good job that dp is very organised.

gingercat12 · 01/11/2007 21:17

Congrats papaya, preggersagain, and mumofmosnters and glammama! What a lovely day!!!

sweetkitty · 01/11/2007 21:41

I have been following your thread and congrats to everyone on their scans, do you have a stats thread it's hard keeping up with who is having what.

Hope you all have a good second half of your pregnancies and look forward to all the birth announcements

timmyinatizzy · 01/11/2007 22:01

Hi sweetkitty. We have a stats thread you can see it here

glammama · 01/11/2007 22:01

preggersagain I still look at dd's pink car seat adoringly ;) its been 2 years now LOL!!!!

such good news everywhere and sweetkitty thats such fab news on your bfp

Good luck for any scans tomorow!!!!

Prisci · 02/11/2007 00:30

Hi everyone,

And congratulations to all for the scans.

Timmyinatizzy, whaou, I hope everything goes well between the wedding, the move and of course LO. I am in a similar situation and know how it feels to have so much going on.

Got a really bad day at work, I still have not received the maternity policy for the company, however my GM and HR Person... were requesting the date I will start my leave...and being very pushy about it. I had to explain that I had given them an approximate date but that I could not until I had received the company policy, but she did not want to hear any of it etc....crazy. I am the first one in the company going on maternity leave so I guess it is all new to them, but it is getting tireing having to always explain what your rights are to the HR person, such as the right for paid time for Doctors/MW apointments etc...

However, all not lost, managed to releive tension by going to Zara baby. They have some very sweet things, I am having a boy but they also have a lot of 'pink' things, Has anyone been diagnosised with babygrow addiction so far? I think I have all the symptons! . Also found some great sweaters in the maternity section of Zara.

As anyone been looking for baby bags? I just can't find one which does not look like a baby bag, if anyone see what I mean. Any ideas?

hellyberry · 02/11/2007 07:47

hey, great news sweetkitty! really pleased for you.

keep the good news on the scans rolling people, but please stop tiring me out with weddings and house moves and all whilePG timmy: i feel totally inadequate in comparison

off to wales to see my dad for the weekend. it's his last year before retirement...i wonder if they can be persuaded to move back to london when done? hmmm...?

now, glammamma: 1,2,3,4...count my little piggies ;)

derah · 02/11/2007 08:53

YAY Sweetkitty!! I saw on another thread that you'd had a lovely BFP, but it wasn't really an appropriate thread to say anything on. So I've been stalking the July thread waiting for your big announcement. Sooooooooooooooooooo happy for you!!!!

Not much else to report here. Baby is getting very wriggly, got my scan on Monday and hopefully we'll find out the flavour. I have a feeling it's a boy, and I'd like a boy, except for one small issue. Not sure I even want to bring it up cos it's something that always causes lots of emotion on MN. But I've really been stessing about it this week. We're Jewish, so the norm is to circumcise little boys. But I really don't wanna! Especially after hearing in graphic detail from a friend on Monday how it's done. So part of me is hoping it's another girl so I don't have to end up in a big argument with DH, plus all his family, plus our rabbi and everyone else in the Jewish community!!

Sigh...........

fitnforty · 02/11/2007 08:57

congrats on scans everyone and for the twin girls preggers! Hope they aren't like me and turn out to hate pink

Sweetkitty - brilliant news, keeping everything crossed for you, you'll have to keep popping in here to give us updates!

Hellyberry, don't persuade them to move to london, move yourself to Wales, it's so much better than the big smoke (and you can afford a bigger house for your money!). I've never regretted it...18 yrs in London and I kept moving further and further away from the centre every few years

Only one minor disaster this week, so better than last, but a friend who's due the same time as me has just had her husband walk out on her. Can't understand the mentality of that when they already have one kid. Had a nightmare last night where my DH told me he was leaving and woke up in tears as it was so real and horrible. Luckily he has no intention of it and a few hugs did the trick.

Anyway, it's the weekend and I've got bugger all planned so time for some extra sleep I think! Have a good one everyone

preggersagain · 02/11/2007 09:46

morning all

imjin100 · 02/11/2007 09:56

all this happy happy news - congratulations on the scans and the baby girls - so exciting, and Sweet Kitty - ohhhhhh fantastic news - fingers tightly crossed!
it's the weekend, I have a horrible sore throat but am swallowing strepsils like they are going out of fashion and all WILL be well, Positive mental attitidue,..oh and DH felt the baby only for the second time - he was thrilled!
happy days.

HolidaysQueen · 02/11/2007 10:08

Sweetkitty - wonderful wonderful news! i'm keeping fingers and toes crossed for you.

Morning all. I'm sat here doing pelvic floor exercises and they've exhausted me... Is this normal or is it just that my muscles are weak and pathetic and lazy?

ClaphamLauren · 02/11/2007 10:09

Prisci - Seraphine do some nice baby bags that don't look like baby bags!

Glamma - I've been provisionally booked in for 28th Feb but going to try and persuade them to do it a wee bit later, I want a March baby!! Things are going well at the moment - always worrying, the pessimist in me says they'll therefore take a nosedive soon!

Has anyone else been diagnosed with GBS? I don't know much about it apart from it being a bacterial infection and means that I will need anti biotics during/prior to birth and just wanted to know if it was just me? I'm a big worrier so I'm off to google myself into a panic!

Nearly the weekend, hurrah!!

e14mum · 02/11/2007 10:11

All this good news is wonderful!

Does anyone else suffer from Starbucks Red Cup Syndrome?? I have a healthy Starbucks attitude normally, and I tell myself it's the same drinks that were in the white cups... but as soon as they bring the red cups out I feel this magnetic pull towards them!

LO woke me up at 5:30 with some sort of Riverdance. Or maybe Stomp.

littleducks · 02/11/2007 12:55

Claphen Lauren- i think it is very good news that you have been diagnosed in pregnancy, i know 3 people with GBS all of whom were pregnant at the same time for a coinceidance, two were tested and had the antibiotics during labour, both them and babies were fine, the third unfortunately was only diagnosed when her baby was poorly after being born. If the antibiotics are given they are very effective and everyone will keep an eye on you and babe in labour, which may mean a tad more medical labour than you had planned but will be worth it!!!!

I got a letter from hosp. yesterday, my scan is rebooked for wed 1 pm, so I am very excited!
