New thread for you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gingercat12 · 30/10/2007 16:03

Funnily enough (even scary-looking) young lads always give me their seats, but women never do.

Hellyberry You are right. Although I am already incredibly protective of my DH and LO. Not so much myself. So e14 the bold hormones will definitely kick in.

preggersagain · 30/10/2007 16:25

hello ladies- its all aches and pains at the moment for everyone it seems! I'm feeling quite good atm (although i look like i've eaten a space hopper!!)

i have my scan on thursady- and i am getting soooooo excited now i'm going to find out the sex of the twins as i will have to prepare in advance for living in a house full of men!

The clocks changing has sent me bonkers- i hate driving in the dark and there's no avoiding it atm!

fitnforty · 30/10/2007 18:10

evening all, great to hear we're all suffering from aches and pains - at least it makes you feel more "normal" !!! I find it weird at the moment that if i stand up after a long time sitting at my desk, I don't feel dizzy or anything, but my stomach feels like it's on a small rollercoaster, or that i've just driven over a hump-back bridge and it leaps about

Still no news on my friend's funeral, but have mostly come to terms with it for now. Doing my best to be cheerful in the meantime.

At least it's now over 2 weeks since i last had a wasp sting or hamster bite, so that's gotta be an improvement.

Bought a travel cot yesterday on kiddicare.com, it's been dispatched alredady! M/w suggested that to keep downstairs so I don't have to worry about leaving the baby alone in the room with the dog, they'll both be safe from each other
Work have also realised they may be on shaky ground with changing the maternity leave policy after i notified them. Still want to modify it from the nice one in place when i told them, but think i will stick to my guns and tell them that's what should be effective for me.

Well done on the scans everyone, how are we doing in the boys v girls ratio?

piggyp · 30/10/2007 18:52

Hope everyone is okay! Good luck with the rest of the scans. Glad I'm not the only one with an achey tummy, I do find it a bit scary though! A collegue told me I looked like a snake that had swallowed an egg today!! I took it at as a compliment!

papaya · 30/10/2007 20:14

eeeek 19 hours until my scan and not sure if my butterflies are more excitement or nerves!!

piggyp · 30/10/2007 20:44

Good luck Papaya!

imjin100 · 30/10/2007 21:24

fitnforty, I feel bad I didn't say before sorry about your friend, my post reading ability is a little rusty - I just skimmed through - anyway - I'm really sorry - it's horrid for you and i hope you're doing ok.

good luck papaya (and anyone else with a scan tomorrow) - the nerve got me in the end with mine, never mind butterflies in my tummy - there was a whole herd of the things! you'll enjoy it when you get there but good luck.

hellyberry · 30/10/2007 21:53

does someone have our stats thread bookmarked? could you post a link? for some reason I can't find it on searching, probably being too dim through underwork today.

we should update our m/f/unknown stats and see what the ratios are!

glammama · 30/10/2007 21:56

Evening all, I'm back online! For now anyway, damn wireless router that doesn't work through doors!!!!
Fitnforty, sorry to hear about your friend.
I have my scan tomorrow and I have persuaded DP that it is essential we find out the gender. I feel a little bit guilty but hey, I'm the one giving birth....... Anyway, baby might not be cooperating so we'll wait and see.
I'll check in with you all tomorrow afterwards. Maybe I'll have a girl to keep you company Marchmum!
Hope you are all doing well.

glammama · 30/10/2007 21:57

stats

hellyberry · 30/10/2007 22:15

aha, tis the queen of t'internet, back lovely to see you gm!

ta for link. shuffling over to update meself pronto.

hellyberry · 30/10/2007 22:18

oh WOW, so cool, thank you timmy! yes, half a dozen boys already, but its such early days and so many people to go that surely it will even out, and our offspring won't be competing for marchmum's solitary girl

spugs · 31/10/2007 10:16

hi everyone, feeling a little achy here as well. putting it down to ligaments and baby stretching and bouncing around inside . have a week to go before scan which is next wed and feeling nervous already, feel fairly sure its going to be another girl though.

anyhow good luck for everyones scans, im off to mothercare to order my bugaboo and spend a small fortune

preggersagain · 31/10/2007 10:24

morning ladies!!

anyone still having weird dreams? last night i was convinced that dh had bought me a giraffe as an anniversary pressie- 3am i had to get out of bed, trundle downstairs and check the garden !!!!!!

my scan is tomorrow- feeling a bit nervous now- if its boys will i be able to swap them for just one of the pink variety?? the thought of living with five human males plus all male pets is getting very scary- i shall have to dedicate a girly bathroom- no boys allowed

spd has kicked in properly now so its half an hour twice a day with a hot water bottle and a support belt thingy for me- it has helped though, mw suggested physio but i had that last time and all they did was warmth and fitted a support belt- nothing technical so due to a lack of time and a hatred of hospitals i have declined

turtle23 · 31/10/2007 10:40

spugs...i'm the same day as you. In the afternoon...can't wait!

OP posts:
imjin100 · 31/10/2007 10:43

preggers again, I'm laughing outloud at the image of you and the giraffe, just the kind of thing I'm dreaming about! Mine last night was infact that my sister gave me her new born baby to look after (she doesn't have one!) and it aws like looking after a todler who laughed out loud every time he got the chance to breast feed - the laugh and the teeth nearly turned it into a nightmare rather than a dream!
Sorry about the SPD and don't get too nervous...easy said when I've already had my scan I know but stay calm!

Now, a general question -sorry to raise this wretched issue again but does anyone have or know anyone who has a hauck pram thing? are they any good off the path - I want to be able to walk lots and not always on teh path...sometimes I know i'll fancy grass and just need to know anyone's thoughts. I know it's a whole can of worms so i'm sorry to mention it again. it's on my mind!

Thanks all

preggersagain · 31/10/2007 11:17

imjin- which hauck pram??

imjin100 · 31/10/2007 11:37

is it the infinity that comes with a cot thing?
I am trying not to get too stressed out by it but I can't believe the differing opinions of friends - 3 wheels or 4, etc etc etc! arhghghghh1
Thanks preggersagin - I remember you had/have one and I know you're the expert on these things but I don't want to monopolise you!

preggersagain · 31/10/2007 11:41

best all-rounder imo is the infinity- if you buy one thats a dream on grass when it comes to going into boots for nappies you'll have a nightmare!!

infinity has pneumatic back wheels so if need be you can tip it off the front onto the back and pull it along- good for sand, mud etc!

Go for it you won't regret it

imjin100 · 31/10/2007 11:50

thank you preggersagain! Words of wisdom very much appreciated.

WinkyGhoul · 31/10/2007 13:01

Hi everyone

I am trying to keep up with thread but I only ever manage to read it, not post!

Just had to say that I am adding to the boy theme! We had our 20 week scan and are expecting a son. Quite surprised as the pregnancy is exactly the same as with DD...

Love to all, and all bumps

imjin100 · 31/10/2007 13:24

Congratulations....great news for you and glad all is well.

feedmenow · 31/10/2007 14:44

Hello there! Don't know if you remember me as I haven't been on here for ages! I know a few names from another thread (Hi Spugs, Angua, Winky and Mom!). Despite introducing myself here after 12 week scan I just couldn't keep up so kind of slipped away.
But I think this sort of thread can be so important for comparrison and reassurance that I have come back, and hope you are all happy for me to be here.
I have added myself on to the stats thread and really hope to be able to keep up with you all this time

I have recently started going to a yoga for pregnancy class. Is anyone else doing anything like this? Doing the "Camel" and the "Seagull" makes me feel like a bit of an idiot, but anything that might help with labour is a friend of mine!

I also listened to a hypnobirthing CD for the first time last night. I found it really difficult to relax during the first bit, but fell asleep during the second bit! But hopefully that isn't a bad thing.....

preggersagain · 31/10/2007 14:46

welcome back!! hopefully some of the others that have faded away will come back and see us after their scans!

i've just had fan bloody tastic news- checked my online banking and tax credit bods have paid £600.12 with more going in tomorrow wooohooo!!!!!!!!

I'm off shopping

spugs · 31/10/2007 15:45
