New thread for you!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

OUCH kidney drainage problems. OUCH. You poor things. I was given codeine for the ovary pain i had last week, maybe if the pain gets vile you can get that prescribed?

OK, so from what I've picked up on the boards today am I right in guessing that there are new fnacy emoticons ago-go? I wonder why I don't see them (v6 IE?)

Will toddle into firefox and see how this looks.

hellyberry · 25/10/2007 15:37

oh look, yes: HATS

preggersagain · 25/10/2007 15:42

huh- hats???????

is this baby brain or is everyone seeing something i'm not??????

hellyberry · 25/10/2007 15:42

if anyone else is not seeing hats on the smileys, try pressing your F5 button.

timmyinatizzy · 25/10/2007 15:44

I see no hats?

Preggers would love to swap, but already have 9 year old twin id dsd's at home. Not sure I could do it from birth. From the age of 4 was bad enough. At least their mum had the fun with potty training

timmyinatizzy · 25/10/2007 15:44

Doh. It works now. How cool is that

PurlyQueen · 25/10/2007 15:50

I haven't had a night's solid sleep for months. Either I need to get up for a wee, or my arm has gone to sleep or I can't turn over properly.

preggersagain · 25/10/2007 15:51

ahh- got it now very funny he he can't stop now

timmy- are you sure?? positive?? i can throw in some cool goodies to go with them- weekly allowance, top of the range buggy.....................free changing bag and footmuffs.......................... ooh i know what'll swing it- two stokke sleepi's including mini cot adaptions!!

Ok fine- i'll just have to accept that the toilet seat will never be down, there will always be a puddle in front of the loo (why-its not rocket science- point and squirt surely) and get on with living in a house full of men!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or alternativly it could be girls

i need to have a few days off i think, and stop panicing- if its boys then at least dd will be the safest girl in town as she gets older- with four brothers no-ones gonna mess with her

e14mum · 25/10/2007 16:11

PQ- I'm with you. Now, instead of just half-waking and stumbling to the loo in the dark and back again, I seem to wake properly, get up and stretch, go for a drink of water, then visit the loo, come back and sit on side of bed whist deciding which position will be most comfortable to go back to sleep in, then postition myself, then lay awake thinking about random things for ages.
And it's only going to get worse!! Argh.

Bit of a confession- I can't picture myself with a boy! I'm v. scared that it's going to be one and I won't know what to do with it. We're a bit male-heavy on both sides: I have no sisters, DH has just 1, and we have only 1 niece and 4 nephews so far! So any pink dust is welcome this way.

ps. What is up with puddles in front/side of the toilet? I agree preggers- it can't be THAT hard!

HolidaysQueen · 25/10/2007 16:30

I am sleeping rubbishly at the moment - do okay until about 3.30 then wake up with horrendous pins and needles in my arms, then get back to sleep only to wake up needing loo at 5am then eventually doze off at 6.30 only to have to get up at 7... I thought this thing of 'mother nature preparing you for life post-birth' wasn't actually meant to kick in until the third trimester... Second trimester exhaustion is yet another pregnancy side effect that nobody tells you about until you're pregnant!

On a much happier note, I am so so so thrilled as one of my really good friends from university has just told me she is pregnant. She suffered two miscarriages at 8 and 14 weeks over the past 18 months so I am just thrilled that they finally managed to have some good news. She's due in early February - has only just started telling people now that she's really certain it's happening. She lives in the US so we don't actually see her very often, otherwise we'd probably have noticed before now

Oh and she's having a girl so I'm going to get her to send some pink baby dust our way to balance us out a bit!

So happy! I'm going to be grinning for the rest of the day

imjin100 · 25/10/2007 16:37

HQ, fantastic news. Hearing about friends like that is just the best....I have fingers and toes tightly crossed for three couples at the moment!
As for the sleeping...it's rotten but somehow better to know we're not alone...I shall think of you all when I toss about the place. Worst is DH is now not sleeping either and he's usually out like a light, he's managing less well on lack of sleep...not sure how he'll manage when lo arrives and sleep becomes a luxury item!

PurlyQueen · 25/10/2007 17:09

I hear you, e14mum! I wouldn't know what to do with a baby boy as my mum brought me and my sister up.

e14mum · 25/10/2007 17:32

Although our little baby visitor last weekend was a lovely little guy... maybe I can do it!

glammama · 25/10/2007 18:29

mumofmonsters I'm currently in Altrincham and will be going backhome tomorrow. I'm missing my bed and my bloke bigtime. In that order!! Not really For some reason my daft pregnanct brain thought it would be acceptable to get the train at 8.45 tomorrow night, getting in to Euston at ten past midnight. And I will be travelling with a 7 year old who no doubt will be more alert than me. It was the only train available that I could afford. But why oh why could I not just have come back on sat morn. Oh well, at least I see DP sooner. OK, must go and pick my order from the Chinese menu.
Hope everyone who is poorly feels better soon.
Oh and I have my scan on Halloween. Think it's a girl but let's see.......

hellyberry · 25/10/2007 18:36

look what i found on't interweb - 9 months in 1 minute

derahCula · 25/10/2007 18:55

Hellyberry - that's very cool! The end bit says - "The End", and then "And also the beginning" (DH is Israeli and I speak Hebrew). I think she had a bigger bump than me at 4 months!

I'm very interested to see if those of us who are so sure of what gender we're having or an only see the baby as a boy or a girl turn out to be right. I can only really see this baby as a boy.... I'll find out (I hope) in a week and a half.

turtle23 · 25/10/2007 18:57

did that make anyone else cry or is it just me and my hormones? snif

turtle23 · 25/10/2007 18:58

Am I one of the last for a scan? Mine is the 7th and will be welcoming any pink dust available!

OP posts:
HolidaysQueen · 25/10/2007 19:25

turtle - i don't have mine until 22nd November! Not until 22 weeks for me for some reason, which means I won't have been seen by anyone for 11 weeks! The time is absolutely dragging at the moment...

monthlymayhem · 25/10/2007 19:42

How annoying, I just typed a big long message and thought I posted it, but it's disappeared!!

Hope everyone is well.

I've got my scan tomorrow at 9.30 and am very excited, but also a bit nervous..

I've had an achey period type tummy for the last day or so - is anyone else getting this? I've presuming it's just things stretching Getting lots of movements now though which is reassuring

Plan for tomorrow is to go for scan, then drag DH round every pram/baby shop in Glasgow, with a nice lunch in between to keep him going.

I was up at 4am today as on the early flight to London, but at least I got home at a sensible time, so am now wrapped up in duvet on the sofa with a box of maltesers and likely to be asleep my 9pm...

turtle23 · 25/10/2007 19:49

Am I the only one having problems with MN today? It's all been flipped around.

OP posts:
monthlymayhem · 25/10/2007 19:51

turtle - I thought it was something I'd pressed! It's all looking strange for me too

papaya · 25/10/2007 20:36

whats with this book style format of reading posts ladies?? I dont get it and its irritating me!!!

Hellyberrry thats VERY handy to know you can have codeine whilst preg, very handy indeed, I will be pulling there arms off for it if the level of pain i was in comes back. I actually thought to myself my god LABOUR is easier to cope with than this, at least theres respite in between contractions!!!!

monthly mayhem I too have been feeling a bit achy, I also put it down to things moving and stretching, I hadn't felt baby move all day, but this eve I got a few definate flutters/mini kicks, so I am alot happier now

turtle23 · 25/10/2007 20:53

Only just noticed that you can switch it back if you read the sentence in bold near the top...grrr.

Aaaagh, yet again my mother has reduced me to tears. Not that I'm letting her see, of course. I'm 33, why am I letting her still have this effect? This is why I visit once a year.Sorry, just needed to vent.
