Mods- look at the iCandy Pear adaptor- its shown in a lot of the baby mags on the last page atm! or check out the iCandy website- you have to buy it from a retailer though- can't get them online

I have bought one and i've also got a first wheels twin (pram obbsessed ) I also still have in the loft my old twin Bertini Pram which is fabbo and i am sure at some points i will revert to using that as well!

MarchMum · 22/10/2007 11:22

Am also loving the icandy and like the fact that it can accomdate 2 (someday! can't believe am thinking that already...)

someone asked about updating due dates. have no idea if this is the same elsewhere but uch sgraphers said 12 week scan will always as official due date. you can discuss other plans/changes with mw but they go by that measurement.

where is glammama - haven't seee her for awhile. welcome newcomers!

e14mum · 22/10/2007 12:06

Well, we spent the weekend with a friend's 3 month old, and DH is now much more confident that he will know what to do when our LO arrives! (He was very cute about it!)

Yes, where is glammama?

Hope everyone is doing well today!

turtle23 · 22/10/2007 12:23

Spoke to glam yesterday, she is alive and well but without internet for a bit!

i hope you feel better soon 3mb.

off to look up the prams you've all been mentioning now, xx

MarchMum · 22/10/2007 15:01

ps you'll all be happy to know I bought a pink bib in Berlin this weekend :.)

tori32 · 22/10/2007 15:12

Hi all! haven't caught up completely but I have a good excuse, I have just become an aunty to my niece 7lb 12oz! Absolutely peachy!

modsaluk I have a twin buggy ( one in front of the other but its quite hard to steer, so I would recommend the one where the back seat is slightly raised from the front. More compact, called a marco sky. Hope this helps. ( Its good to get in the car aswell because the wheels come off for a better fit.)

tori32 · 22/10/2007 15:19

PS, on the peeing front kitchen roll, kitchen roll, kitchen roll and more kitchen roll!!!lol We used to put some underneath and throw some on dd's bits to stop spraying!

hellyberry · 22/10/2007 22:54

that was fun, i rocked 'smells like teen spirit', which had everyone laughing, presumably because it was a middle aged, middle pregnancy, middle class english woman singing it

and not down to tunelessness?

hellyberry · 23/10/2007 13:29

am now thinking the singing must have been evil dire. it's scared everyone off

lovely autumn day out there, been to the woods. have never seen ds run so much. won't be long before i will NOT be able to catch him!

MarchMum · 23/10/2007 14:14

yes, where is everyone? i have to procrastinate from work you know! :.) blooming marvellous catalogue just came so could always move on to that...

tori32 · 23/10/2007 14:21

I'm here! Have had the morning from hell as all children have colds and are bad tempered. DD just threw up all her dinner all over me as I was putting her down for her afternoon sleep, so needed a change of clothes which meant disturbing another child. Grrrr!

So I need some lovely cake to cheer me up! Had 5 children today but fortunately 2 went at 1300hrs. As I was upstairs cleaning the mess all I could hear was dc 2.2 screaming tantrums with her mum downstairs. So she ended up screaming out of the house! Never mind.... tomorrow is another day, just needed to rant!

e14mum · 23/10/2007 14:36

I'm here! A bit busy with work but always time to procrastinate with mumsnet.

hellyberry, it sounds like you've had a great couple of days. You didn't scare me off- I was laughing at your karaoke successes.

I'd love to have the afternoon to run through the woods- although maybe not "run" so much? Anyway, this time of year reminds me so much of home when the trees all turn colour.

marchmum- my SIL has sent me the cutest vests from Roots!

Have a great afternoon all- tori, I hope you get to relax a bit...

PurlyQueen · 23/10/2007 16:17

I have returned from my two-week holiday in America - husband, in-laws and I visited New York, Washington DC, the Shenandoah national park and Virginia Beach.

The flight out to NY was marvellous as husband and I got upgraded to business class. The return flight was a different story. Every seat was taken so I gave my aisle seat to a woman with a gammy leg and her neck in plaster.

Now feel completely rested, if a little jet-lagged. And I finally have a bump! It popped out halfway through the holiday and I can feel the little one moving about at night.

It's going to be a Haven holiday home for me next year

MarchMum · 23/10/2007 16:34

e14 - roots! can't wait - I am off to Toronto/Ottawa next month and looking forward to spending my pound in the canadian stores. i live in this roots tank right now bc it is long enough to fit over the bump. let me know if you want anything from CA, am taking empty suitcases over to bring stuff back!

PurlyQueen · 23/10/2007 17:02

Have a wonderful time - and don't forget to take it easy. After spending the day walking around New York, my Achilles tendons were rather sore.

e14mum · 23/10/2007 17:02

hey marchmum- thanks so much for the offer. My parents are coming at New Year's, so have lists with them, lol.
at your trip.

turtle23 · 23/10/2007 17:30

marchmum...if u found room in your case for a box of triscuits i'd love you forever!
I only have one thing to say today...potty training. Day one. Argh.

evening everyone Great news on ann the scans etc!!

I bought a fetal doppler off ebay at the weekend! I used it for the first time today, picked baby up clear as a bell But if you measure your own heart beat (or attempt to does it give you an accurate reading?? Are there any fellow doppler users that have tried this? tia x

HolidaysQueen · 23/10/2007 19:24

Hello - I've been lurking on other threads for the last day or so and neglecting you all. Sorry! I did find this thread though which you may find useful and/or have contributions for.
I had a great weekend in Sussex visiting some friends. the weather was so lovely that we did long walks on Sat and Sun, and then I went swimming last night. So I am totally done with exercise for the rest of the week I think
Only 1hour 36mins to Spooks. Yay!

PurlyQueen · 23/10/2007 19:30

Although I'd love to, I am too scared to use a doppler - what if I can't pick up a heartbeat. That would frighten me too much.

turtle23 · 23/10/2007 19:51

papaya..yes, it does.

OP posts:
HolidaysQueen · 23/10/2007 20:39

PurlyQueen - me too! I'm just contenting myself with trying to feel the baby move. Nothing spontaneous yet, but if I put my hands on my tummy and concentrate then I can definitely feel movement inside. As good as a heartbeat I reckon

3madboys · 23/10/2007 21:11

i think a doppler would make me too nervous as well, when i was in labour with ds3 they couldnt find his hearbeat at one point, and it was AWFUL really traumatic and stressful, i would worry too much if i had my own doppler.

i have to say that this little one is REALLY wriggly, particularly in the evening, so i know he is just fine, which has been reassuring the past few days as i have been really ill. when i lie down you can see my belly move and ds1 and dp have both felt him kicking

i am chuffed as i just got a maternity pillow of ebay, its one of the HUGE grobag ones that are normally £40, i got it for a tenner now i cant wait for it to arrive, i dont have a bump yet but it will be great for my pelvis
