spugs · 18/10/2007 15:07

wow so many boys, and a girl . i have 2 girls already and cant help but think that this one will be as well. (little girls are ace by the way march) would like a boy though for a change, we shall hopefully see in a couple of weeks time.

have been eyeing up bugaboos and think were going to go for the cameleon. dont know whether to go down the ebay route and get it for 100 quid or so cheaper or go for the mothercare one where i can pay off a bit a month. hmmm. not to mention colour choice

e14mum · 18/10/2007 15:09

great news everyone!

(and thanks for the advice, brain is going to mush)

ClaphamLauren · 18/10/2007 15:09

Topshop do THE most adorable baby girl clothes. I know it's bad but if I could choose I would pick a little girlie.

Congrats!! It's all so exciting with all of these scans. Feels like 14th November is forever away though. I'm going to be probably one of the first to have my baby, booked in on 28th February for c-section, but the last to be scanned! Annoying

I'm so bloody impatient! Going to a gig tonight and they've VIP'd me, hooray This pregnancy lark does have it's advantages

e14mum · 18/10/2007 15:40

So you've decided to book in for a cs, CL? Hope you're feeling ok. How exciting to know when your LO will turn up!
(I love girlie clothes too)

Spugs, we just bought a bugaboo second-hand from ebay and it's in perfect condition. Much cheaper too (~£150 less).

imjin100 · 18/10/2007 16:19

preggersagain I'm laughing at you and the pink, I'm like 3madboys and can't be doing with it!
CL, can't believe you have the date for teh arrival - what a thought and how exciting. I was born in February and it's a great month for very happy babies!
Piggyp - that's hilarious and what a relief. Just had lunch with a friend of mine who has a 6 month old. When she was pregnant the scan showed an enormous head and tummy. When she asked if there was any reason for this enormity they pointed to her DP (who has both!!!) It always makes me laugh!

Trying to work out if I can make the meet up, don't think i can so have said so on the list but if I work out a way I'll let you know!

hellyberry · 18/10/2007 16:23

congrats on all the news from scans!
marchmum, we'll sort something out soon. i'll be back on my feet in a couple of days i can tell. have slept all day and feel good now. it sure takes longer recuperating when you are also gestating. thank god for family help this week with ds1. anyway, are you aiming for the natural birth centre at uch? we could do our tours together maybe!

MarchMum · 18/10/2007 16:28

Ideal is water birth at Bloomsbury/UCH. Did initial tour at 9 weeks bc I was trying to decide where to book - but I'll likely need to go again when date gets closer. Let me when you get better - hopefully soon!

HolidaysQueen · 18/10/2007 17:32

CL - I'm later than you as my scan isn't until 22nd Nov, but then my baby is also likely to be one of the last on this board (due 24th March). I really want to know now if it is a boy/girl and not sure how I'll cope waiting for another 5 weeks!!!

papaya · 18/10/2007 17:59

Preggersagain me and my DD are with you on the pink side of things....I think anyone who believes they can escape pink AND have a girl is in huge denial lol.... Have to say though when I first found out I was having DD I did say to everyone please don't buy her anything Pink I cant stand it. That lasted all of about 2 days i think I am the oppisite and I acutally find it really hard to buy boys things!!

hellyberry · 18/10/2007 18:34

march mum, elias and grace over in primrose hill has some good girl's stuff which dials down the pink. we bought a stack of album de famiglia stuff there for ds1 (they also do good neuter colours like brown, purple, green which cost a wee bit more but don't have irritating slogans on them, wash well and still look like new so will be fine for number 2.

turtle23 · 18/10/2007 19:10

Well, I am not ashamed to say that I am hoping for a girl and I CANNOT WAIT TO BUY PINK CLOTHES if that is the case! Roll on the 7th of November!

monthlymayhem · 18/10/2007 19:27

Congrats on all the scans ladies, lovely news

We're not planning to find out as it's our first and we really don't mind either way, although I must admit that recently I've been thinking of LO as a boy most of the time

hellyberry · 19/10/2007 08:52

bliss, ds out to zoo with his uncle until 1330. i'm back to bed again.

HolidaysQueen · 19/10/2007 11:06

Morning everyone! It's scarily quiet on here at the moment given our usual pace of conversation. I hope everyone is having good days and enjoying some autumnal sunshine (even if just while staring out of the window while working, like me!)

Can I ask a silly first timer question (or three)? When should I start doing pelvic floor exercises? How often should I do them? Do they work? I'm suddenly wondering if this is something I should have been doing the minute I found out I was pregnant, or whether it is something you don't do until after the baby is here.

Thank you!

HQ xx

spugs · 19/10/2007 11:13

i think my scans the same day as yours turtle (ill be 20 + 2) cant wait, hopefully we'll get to find out

e14mum · 19/10/2007 11:13

Hello- it is quiet on here. Love these crisp sunny mornings!

HQ- I've been trying to do them now for a few months. (I'm not very consistent though!) Jools Oliver says she can't bounce on a trampoline or do any wild dancing anymore because she didn't do hers...

ClaphamLauren · 19/10/2007 11:48

I do my pelvic floor muscles all of the time, always have though. I tend to do it when I'm on conference calls at work!

gingercat12 · 19/10/2007 14:19

I try to remember doing my pelvic floor exercises, but sometimes I forget them.

I am still totally in love with my little baby, and cannot think of anything else but the scan yesterday. He was so calm and sweet. Just like his Dad.

MumOfBillyTheKid · 19/10/2007 14:49

Hi everyone - I'm a newbie to Mumsnet (and new to being a Mum). Have been watching thread for a bit but only just got round to registering to be able to post!!

I'm due 26 March, so am 17+1 today (scan due in 2 weeks 6 days!!) Se excited, as i'm sure i can feel him/her move already!!

I see a fair few of you are London based (I work in Chelsea 1 day a week) but otherwise, work from home in Sunny Bournemouth. Are there any March mums from down this way?

Got to get used to the lingo, but am now less stresed out with work (was made redundant a couple of weeks ago - they didn't know I was pg (what a nightmare!), but luckily, have got another job at same co). Will try and follow on with the threads - boy are they fast moving!!

Right - off back to work (and do my pelvic floors!). Chat soon. x

e14mum · 19/10/2007 14:59

Hi MOBTK- welcome to mumsnet! There's another thread with dates on it if you want to add yourself here.

HolidaysQueen · 19/10/2007 15:00

Hello MOBTK! Glad to see you are an end of Marcher like me (I'm due 24th on calculation or 27th if you believe scan - but 24th is our first wedding anniversary so we're sticking to that for now!) as most people on here seem to be early March I think.

I tried to do pelvic floors earlier while on a work call thanks to CL's advice but got a bit bored. Must try harder...

littleducks · 19/10/2007 15:04

im due 26th too mumofbillythekid! will look out for your am i in labour thread nearer the time!

MumOfBillyTheKid · 19/10/2007 15:12

Thanks e14mum - have added my date to the other thread (mind you, 26 March is goind by my dates rather than the first scan measurements, which said 18 March!)

Hi Holidaysmum and littleducks - glad i'm not the only one not yet had my scan (felt like it reading the threads). Do they update our due date again from any measurements does anyone know?

Know what you mean about getting bored of pelvic floors - I do 2 or so and then get distracted! Must try harder!!

MarchMum · 19/10/2007 16:00

Just got back from Baby show - it was good but I didn't leave myself enough time there. Went for 3.5 hours, could have spent another two. Made fatal flaw of going from outisde in (all the good bits are on the inside). Was very good for comparing bottle systems and prams.

To my fellow BAMBOO lovers: the Lollipop stand has a great deal - entire kit for first six months (pail, detergent, 15 nappies, liners, plastic wraps, etc etc etc) for £140. I bought!! Can't believe how exciting that was - essentially bought things to put poo in. I am a shadow of my former self... :.)

Have fun tomorrow! Am rushing off to Germany for a fun weekend with a girlfriend (I am German so that's why I think Germany is 'fun' - ha ha...)

barrowclaire · 19/10/2007 16:07

i tend to do my 'pelvic floors' during the ad breaks of friends - if i remember lol.

not had my scan yet either - its 2wks today (i think, well 9th nov) and really looking forward to seeing pip again as it was such a surprise seeing him/her at the last one cos we werent told we were going to be scanned!

everyone looking forward to crimbo????
