@OrDis definitely sounds like it. All my contractions were in my lower back as baby was back to back (though he turned before delivery!) good luck!
Considering selling my baby this morning as he wouldn't be put down last night at all 😔

Sunsage · 30/09/2020 09:32

@MooseWL I have stitches too and one of the midwives suggested a hot bath with tea tree in it, which I had and it was lovely and soothing for my stitches

ShiningStarz · 30/09/2020 11:13

Loll @MooseWL 🤣🤣 the struggle is real!!!! These babies just love our chests and body heat !!

liquoricecravings · 30/09/2020 14:55

@MooseWL I've been having baths to help ease the pain from my stitches. Just warm water at the moment. I'm air drying after to give my stitches some breathing time too (recommended by the midwife). Boots sell maternity mats to sit on or you could use a towel if your bleeding has slowed down. I did buy a bottle of spritz for bitz but because I've had a problem with my tear healing I've held off using it in case it aggravates it. If the midwife says I'm healing better tomorrow I think I'll try adding it to the water.

WillowT · 30/09/2020 21:22

@MooseWL I felt the same last night...my husband did not look impressed! Luckily he is besotted with her!

@OrDis sounds like it...mine started off at the front and then moved to my lower back!

Lilice · 30/09/2020 22:15

Good luck @ordis mine started with painless contractions at the front that lasted about 30 seconds, then it was painful front and back and closer to 50 seconds when is established labour. Hoping to see your announcement soon ☺

MooseWL · 01/10/2020 00:30

@liquoricecravings @sunsage fab I'll look forward to a bath tomorrow!
We ended up in a&e this afternoon as J is very yellow and midwife said he may need phototherapy for jaundice. Luckily the levels weren't high enough to need it but our clinic appointment at 2 turned into a 5 hour trip out to a&e and he was not impressed with having to have blood taken. My plans of napping this afternoon totally ruined, where do the days go my house is a mess!!

OrDis · 01/10/2020 02:54

Well. I’m still going with the irregular contractions. Still all in my back. Absolute agony now and knackered. Went to MLU and only 2cm so now back home 😢. Gonna try n get a bit of rest but it’s so flippin painful! I feel like this baby is never going to come out

ShiningStarz · 01/10/2020 04:47

@OrDis I hope you are ok, your so close now. You'll soon be meeting your little one! It's very exciting xx

@MooseWL glad your little one is ok.
Iv been trying to clean the bathroom for over a week now!!! It's just not happening!! Good job we aren't having visitors lol

ShiningStarz · 01/10/2020 04:53

We haven't given our little girl a dummy yet. She's 3 weeks today.
My partner is against it. He wants to teach her how to self settle etc.
He's taking her to all her vaccinations! Do you think little one will need the dummy to sooth her during and after the Vaccinations? Anyone been through this stage before and not use a dummy?
Thanks. 😊

MooseWL · 01/10/2020 07:07

@OrDis sounds similar to my latent stage. It's awful isn't it. Hopefully you get to 4cm soon then have more options for pain relief. It'll feel like forever but you'll meet your baby soon!
@shiningstarz i don't think I've even been in our kitchen in about 2 days!

Sara7455 · 01/10/2020 09:11

@ShiningStarz I didn’t take a dummy for Wren’s vaccinations. He cried while she was actually injecting him but settled with cuddles just fine afterwards. They also suggest calpol at their 8 and 16 week shots in case the menB one gives them a temperature.

Margo34 · 01/10/2020 09:20

So my September baby definitely decided against September sadly. Can I stay still?

40+5 and very fed up and emotional now.

Baby is back to back and I'm being pushed for induction.

Sara7455 · 01/10/2020 09:56

@Margo34 of course you can stay! My September baby arrived in June and I’m still here. Definitely more about due dates than when they actually join us :) hope your little one makes their appearance soon for you!

NeuroMama · 01/10/2020 10:36

@Margo34 officially an October baby here too. Getting bored and uncomfortable now. I've got an induction booked for next Thursday (40+12) so still trying to be optimistic it'll happen on its own.

Margo34 · 01/10/2020 11:11

@NeuroMama Think our dates are the same. I've been giving until next appt on Monday to make a decision on induction, they wanted me to book it yesterday for before the end of this week though and MW was really pushy on it. Really hoping something happens spontaneously before my next appt.

Fingers crossed for both of us 🤞

Thanks @Sara7455, hope little Wren is doing OK!

Sara7455 · 01/10/2020 11:18

He’s doing great thanks @Margo34. No longer on oxygen support so just like a regular 4 week old (his corrected age) now.

ShiningStarz · 01/10/2020 15:27

Thanks @Sara7455 great to hear he just needs cuddles.

@Margo34 defo stay! Can't wait to hear your good news xx good luck @NeuroMama too xx

Margo34 · 01/10/2020 16:55

I've walked 10,000 steps today...come on baby🤞🤞🤞

Lilice · 01/10/2020 17:21

@NeuroMama @Margo34 🤞 it will happen real soon for you, I hope you're not feeling too uncomfortable. Get plenty of rest in the meantime 😉

MooseWL · 01/10/2020 18:32

@margo34 that's impressive walking!

How often are you all washing/bathing your babies?

@sara7455 that's great progress from Wren, must be getting big if he's going to outgrow the moses basket soon!

Sara7455 · 01/10/2020 18:37

@MooseWL he seems massive to us now. Definitely chunking up but he’s quite long which is how he’s running out of room in his little basket. They’ve stopped weighing him as much so not sure exactly how big he is now.

NHS guidelines seemed to suggest not bathing them more than 2-3 times a week in the first year because of their delicate skin. We’re doing 3 times a week and obviously top and tailing on the other days!

pangolin84 · 01/10/2020 19:54

@Margo34 and @NeuroMama I’m also 40+5 today and ready for something to happen! At my appointment on Monday they said he’s still only 1/5 engaged and she booked an induction for Thursday next week. She didn’t even discuss it with me - she just told me after she’d done it! Said it would “save next week’s midwife the trouble”.
Nice to know they are assuming I won’t go into labour spontaneously...
They also messed up the appointments and I was waiting to be seen for an hour which didn’t put me in the best mood. I’m surprised my blood pressure was normal to be honest 😂

MooseWL · 01/10/2020 20:58

@sara7455 does Wren like bathtime?
Jacob hates any nappy change/ top and tailing I don't think he likes having his clothes taken off even with the bathroom super warm and wrapped in a towel so I'm dreading giving him a bath he just screams the place down!

Margo34 · 01/10/2020 21:00

@pangolin84 1/5 engaged is good, isn't it?!! Thought the aim was to get to 0/5 🤔! You're better than me, I was 3/5 yesterday, hoping walking walking walking will help 🤷‍♀️

🤞 Fingers crossed we'll start spontaneously and won't need induction 🙏
