Oooooo @MooseWL my fingers are crossed it'll happen soon 🙏🤞

Has anyone used baby bathing products yet?
Our little girl is 2 weeks and 2 days.
I have the child's farm organic bath, shampoo and coconut oil.

Iv used a tiny drop of bath wash and it was fine. Iv also massaged her skin with coconut oil and was fine too. Only planning on using teeny bits just once a week. Just keen to know what everyone else is doing and also what products you are using?

Roxy8203 · 26/09/2020 12:08

@ShiningStarz I used a bit of aveeno wash on my hands then rubbed him over in the bath yesterday, it's not caused him any issues. And also his feet are really flaky so just a bit of baby moisturizer to try and help them

Margo34 · 26/09/2020 13:22

@WillowT and @OrDis re: inductions, I understand from my MW that due to the drug licensing of the pessary, they'll only let you go home for early labour if you have it and you're between 10-12 days over due. Anything outside of that window and you're admitted. This wasn't explained to my friend who went in for an outpatient induction only to be unexpectedly admitted on the spot with none of her stuff/hospital bag or her partner. You'd think she should have been told in advance!!!

No idea whether all pessaries for induction are the same around the country etc but probably worth an ask!

@MooseWL Fingers crossed you're not waiting for baby too long, sounds promising eeeeeek!!

Due date for me today and the only sign I've had is an increased desire to thump my facetious husband 🙈😂

ShiningStarz · 26/09/2020 14:16

Thanks @Roxy8203 Iv noticed little ones bands are dry and flaky. Planning bath time and coconut oil rub tonight :) hopefully she'll feed then sleep like a dream!!

OrDis · 26/09/2020 14:43

Thanks @Margo34 that makes sense as they seem to offer it at 40+10 here. The community midwife rang me earlier and asked why i’d missed my appointment today... I was like “because I was told it’s tomorrow”.... thankfully it was there error not mine so they’ve booked me in for tomorrow!! I was not amused!

Lilice · 26/09/2020 21:21

Good luck @MooseWL sounds very promising

WillowT · 27/09/2020 07:49

Just to let you all know, I had a baby girl yesterday afternoon! We're all doing well, I'm a bit sore but to be expected. The labour went well although I thought it was horrendous 🤣 and we're all home recovering now! Glad she came of her own accord (a week late) rather than have to be induced but thanks to those who provided info about it!

Good luck to those who are still waiting!!

OrDis · 27/09/2020 08:11

Aww lovely news congratulations @WillowT! Theres still hope for me then as i’m a week late today! Off for a sweep later.

MooseWL · 27/09/2020 08:18

Aw lovely @willowT congratulations. I've been labouring at home for 12 hours. Contractions every 5 minutes for 8 hours now. It's horrific but trying to stay home as long as possible as I can't face the car journey and I think if I get to hospital and they send me home or say my partner can't come in I'll lose it. Saying that he fell back to sleep at 4am and hasn't got up yet 😭🤦‍♀️ And breathe.

WillowT · 27/09/2020 08:26

Thank you!

@OrDis keeping my fingers crossed for you! Also saw your post about 26th bring the busiest day!! Apparently the delivery suite was pretty much full when we left!

@MooseWL Hope things progress soon! I did 7 hours at home until they were 3ish mins apart...called the hospital who were reluctant for me to come in but went anyway and turns out I was 4cm so admitted. Luckily we live close by! Had to spend an hour by myself when I was checked out...was so grateful when I finally got admitted and some pain relief. Tried gas and air and water but ended up having to have some pethidine which made all the difference! Will be keeping an eye out for your update!!!!

NeuroMama · 27/09/2020 08:48

Oh all go this weekend. Congratulations WillowT and good luck MooseWL.
My due date came and went with no sign of things starting (as I expected). In fact I was so convinced I'd be late that it's only know I'm like 'oh yeh, I'm gonna go I to labour sometime', and now feel deeply unprepared 😂

Lilice · 27/09/2020 09:35

Congratulations @WillowT glad it all went well.
Good luck @MooseWL hope it's nearly over for you.
🤞 the sweep gets things moving @OrDis

OrDis · 27/09/2020 10:08

Good luck @MooseWL! Hope you are doing ok!

Sara7455 · 27/09/2020 10:23

Congratulations @WillowT
Good luck @MooseWL! Will be watching out
For your update.
Fingers crossed things get moving soon for you too @OrDis !

ShiningStarz · 27/09/2020 10:32

Fab @WillowT another precious girl 💕 congrats x

@OrDis fingers crossed for your sweep 🤞🤞

Haha @MooseWL I love it!!! He fell asleep through your contractions !!!! Hope you are ok, your doing so well to be at home, go woman!!! You clearly got this ❤️

@NeuroMama enjoy sleep and time with your partner before it all changes (presuming this is your first!). I miss my partner so much, haven't slept in same bed for over 2 weeks now. Of course it's all worth it but the change hit me like a ton of bricks!!

OrDis · 27/09/2020 13:52

Back from my sweep. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be- mostly just weird!!!! Anyway midwife said cervix very low and easy to find and 1cm dilated so thats good- fingers crossed the sweep helps.

The midwife talked me out of the outpatient induction and said to go for the inpatient one, mainly as it gives me an extra 2 days to go into labour naturally (and with my cervix quite favourable it will hopefully happen) and I still wouldnt get to go to the midwife led unit if I had the outpatient one which is perhaps the thing that would have swayed me if they’d let you do that if it worked. So i’m booked for induction on Friday now- feeling a little more positive that I might still not need it though. Fingers crossed.

Also TMI, midwife wrote ‘milky show noted’ in my notes... is milky show likely to be my mucus plug? There was a rather sizeable wet patch on the bed when I got off 🤣🤣🤣

WillowT · 27/09/2020 14:22

@OrDis Glad the sweep went well. Keeping fingers crossed that your little one arrives before you need to go in on Friday

Margo34 · 27/09/2020 16:30

Congratulations @WillowT and good luck @MooseWL! You've got this 💪

@NeuroMama I'm overdue too now, my family all thought baby would come early and I'll admit did get my hopes up slightly, so I've been feeling quite flat with no signs of anything happening! I've tried curry, a full day of cleaning mopping sweeping and hoovering, walking and walking but still nothing. Oh well, baby will come when baby is ready 🙄

LatteLover12 · 27/09/2020 18:45

Ooh congratulations @WillowT I hope you're enjoying those newborn snuggles 🥰

Good luck @MooseWL! We're all cheering you on!

See you both on the new babies thread soon 😁

MooseWL · 27/09/2020 19:59

18 hours of solid contractions every 5 minutes so far with not much else happening and paracetamol only which is about as much good as a plaster. Finally got to the birth centre about an hour ago and find out he's back to back 🤦‍♀️not been examined yet but I'm refusing to go home cos the back pressure is too much

Lilice · 27/09/2020 20:36

Aww @MooseWL hang in there, it will be all over soon. Now you're at the birth center, you have more pain relief options. Is your partner with you? Xx

WillowT · 27/09/2020 20:49

@MooseWL Thinking of you! Def make sure you stay and get some pain relief. If they have a pool that really helped to start with but I ended up on pethidine eventually! Found gas and air really helped control my breathing too!!

OrDis · 27/09/2020 20:55

Ah @MooseWL heres hoping they examine you soon and are able to admit you and give you some pain relief.

ShiningStarz · 28/09/2020 06:01

Thinking of you @MooseWL it'll not be long now until you meet your little one xx

Sunshinexx95 · 28/09/2020 18:08

Hi guys,
So it has been a very long time ago I left a comment. I didn't want to make this thread negative because of what I went through. But I want you guys to really take caution that is why I'm going to tell you what a terrible 3 weeks I have had... I'm sorry if this will bother anyone or put you guys down...

So I delivered my baby girl 7th of September ... on the 11th she got jaundice and we were at the hospital because of her level but thankfully she was fine. Just few days later my stitches opened because I had episiotomy and got infected so I got examined and got antibiotics. Had fever one night. Then few days later I noticed my daughter being warmer than usual. And during the night she developed fever so called the hospital and they told me to come in straight away. That was the most terrible night because one parent is allowed in to the a&e and they had to do all the testing. I just couldn't stand hearing her crying so much so they told me to leave the room.. nightmare.. I don't wish this to anybody.

We slept over at the hospital and they say after in the evening her COVID 19 test turned out to be POSITIVE. What a shock. We haven't seen anyone except from the home visiting midwives. I only went to the hospitals for my stitches ever since I delivered so we don't know how she caught COVID 19. We didn't accept any visitors from friends or family and we live with my parents who don't even leave the house. And surprising I tested positive as well and my mother who took care of us. So it has been a terrible time ... I have been feeling down and not my self but I'm trying to stop stressing and just calm down...

I wish that everyone take care of themselves and be really careful with visitors even if they r health visitors.. and when you go out to appointment be extra careful because we don't know how this virus is spreading right now...

I'm sorry if my story is depressing but I just wanted to write so I can get it of my chest ...

Xx
