MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 24/09/2020 10:25

TMI (sorry) but hAve any of you suffered with PP piles ? I’m post section and wondering if it’s related ?

ShiningStarz · 24/09/2020 10:37

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee not piles but first 10 days post section I did a lot of number 2's!! Felt like I was constantly going and a bit itchy and irritated. It's settled now, I'm 2 weeks post section today x

Sara7455 · 24/09/2020 12:57

Good luck @Emmy2020b

liquoricecravings · 24/09/2020 17:08

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee yes, I have them. Pushing for two hours before having forceps to help correct Charlotte's head angle has left me with a third degree tear too. Everything is so swollen and tender Sad. The cream for piles is helping to reduce the size but it's been a week and I reckon I'll be using the cream for another week or so before they really go. Having a warm bath is helping to manage the pain and I've bought a doughnut ring cushion from amazon to sit on (mostly due to the stitches but it helps the whole area). I've taken it to sit on when we've gone out of the house too. Lots of ibuprofen too. I was given lactulose by the midwives which has been amazingly helpful - perhaps you could ask for some?

Lilice · 24/09/2020 19:39

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee me too 🙈 I had them a week before, they got better and then after childbirth they came back. I've been using an ointment twice a day since she was born which I got on prescription and now on day 7 they're all gone thanks goodness!

Lilice · 24/09/2020 19:42

@ShiningStarz my baby also likes to poo in a brand new nappy 🙄 🤣

MooseWL · 25/09/2020 08:40

If i get one more "happy due date are you still pregnant text" I'm gonna lose the plot 😂

WillowT · 25/09/2020 08:55

@MooseWL I'm a week overdue and keep getting texts "have you had it yet?!" So annoying!! Hope your little one doesn't keep you waiting too long! It's not fun being overdue...the waiting and not knowing! Booked in to be induced end of next week so at least have a "final" date now!

MooseWL · 25/09/2020 09:09

@willowT ahh is your induction booked for 42 weeks? Are you having any sweeps?
I've just had a bit of pink when I wipe when I've been to the loo. Not sure if this could be the start of my plug. Eek!

ShiningStarz · 25/09/2020 09:49

We didn't tell anyone our due date for that reason!!! Haha!! Aww it's nice so many people are are excited for u x

@Emmy2020b thinking of you 💕

WillowT · 25/09/2020 09:53

@MooseWL Yes, booked in for 42 weeks. I had an unsuccessful sweep. I have one booked in the day before but probably won't have it if going in the next morning...the first was a very unpleasant experience!

@ShiningStarz I wish we hadn't! If I have another, I will give a rough timeframe. Family are fine but it's all my friends. However, it is lovely that they are all excited 😁

WillowT · 25/09/2020 09:59

@MooseWL Was meant to say that it sounds like the start of it!!! I have had nothing 😩 Think I'm going to go all the way!

MooseWL · 25/09/2020 10:17

@willowT I think I'll only have a sweep if I'm going to be induced anyway. Trying not to get excited as I know bloody show can be ages before labour actually begins. I've been convinced all along he'll keep me waiting as based on my LMP date I get 30th as my due date. But it's nice to see a small sign 😂

@shiningstarz I know it is nice and I know they mean well it's just annoying! Especially my parents texting "any news" every day like I wouldn't tell them. I actually don't plan to tell anyone when I'm in labour just want to surprise them with "baby is here"!
My brother is living in NZ atm and keeps trying to get the name out of me "why can't you tell me I'm at the other side of the world" haha

OrDis · 25/09/2020 11:09

@WillowT I’m 5 days overdue now too and like you- nothing! I wouldnt be suprised if I had to get induced. I saw the midwife earlier and she’s booked me for a sweep on Sunday when i’ll be 41 weeks and then they’ll book me for induction. I can either do an outpatient induction at 40+10 or an inpatient one at 40+12... not sure what to go for at the moment. Hopefully she’ll just come anyway before then. I like the idea of being able to come home and labour but also wondering if its more sensible to be in the hosp and have the extra monitoring.... just don’t know.

@MooseWL fingers crossed the bit of pink is your plug!

WillowT · 25/09/2020 11:59

@OrDis I'm going in at 40+12 unless a miracle happens before!! Although no one has actually explained how it works at the hospital, just had info on the procedure so don't know if I can come home or have to hang about at the hospital! I had an attempted sweep at 41+4 but next time I could see the midwife I'll be 41+11. It's booked in so I'll see how I feel next week

OrDis · 25/09/2020 12:54

I was quite surprised they are offering outpatient induction tbh. Never heard of anyone in our trust being offered it, so don’t know if it’s new, will find out more on Sunday.

Just seen that my area of South Wales is going into local lockdown from the weekend. Absolutely devestated as lockdowns in Wales mean no unnecessary travel in and out and none of mine or my partners family live near us so no one is going to be able to come and meet the baby for god knows how long 😩. I really hoped I had avoided this with things looking better in the summer, but that doesnt seem to be the case.

WillowT · 25/09/2020 15:24

Oh that's rubbish @OrDis...hopefully it'll be short term! I'm really hoping there isn't anything here until at least parents have been to visit 🤞

MooseWL · 25/09/2020 16:24

Ah @OrDis that sucks sorry 😟 I don't think it'll be long until they enforce it in England again tbh

ShiningStarz · 25/09/2020 16:35

Anyone here make up aptamil for feeds?
Wev been using the ready made bottles so far but plan to switch to the powder formula.
Just wondering how is best to make it up during night??

Iv reserved a bottle warmer from Argos thinking I could warm up expressed breast milk / warm up cooled boiling water with aptamil powder?

Sara7455 · 25/09/2020 18:29

@ShiningStarz we just warm the ebm under the tap in the bathroom in the night. For making up formula I’ve heard people rave about the perfect prep machines (we’re still using the ready to drink stuff). We’d also considered just bringing the kettle upstairs in the night.

Lorna198 · 25/09/2020 21:08

We use perfect prep but we only formula feed so it’s worth the money for us. 2 minutes and bottle is done, saves an awful lot of messing about!

ShiningStarz · 26/09/2020 07:06

@Lorna198 @Sara7455 thank u! My sister found her prep machine !!! She used it a few years ago and thankfully it was at the back of a kitchen cupboard! Just got to buy the filters today. BF is so hot and miss dependant on the latch so at least this machine can get milk ready in minutes. Be cheaper for us to use the powered versus the ready made bottles of aptamil too.

MooseWL · 26/09/2020 08:54

Morning all. I'm still slowly loosing my plug I think and I think the babies head has definitely engaged (I felt like I needed to wee every hour last night but then actually didn't, just sooo much pressure in my pelvis area!) after weeks of being like I'm so not ready I don't mind waiting, I'm now desperate for things to get moving! 😂

OrDis · 26/09/2020 09:33

They sound like good signs moose!!! Fingers crossed for you that labour happens soon. Nothing much going on here.... read something online that said 26th September is the busiest day for babies to be born!!
