Well after numerous scans telling me little one was measuring small, not so little George was born 10:27 22/09 a healthy 8lbs 8oz - planned c section went without a hitch was so perfect and miles different to my first experience. So happy I got a birth I can look back on fondly.

Bit sore this evening but making the most of the morphine while I can get it!

Congratulations @flameprincess he's beautiful 😍

Sara7455 · 23/09/2020 07:35

Congratulations @flameprincess what a cutie!

Laura1348 · 23/09/2020 07:40

Hello all...hope you're all good. Sorry been quiet for a while.

Congratulations to all those with new babies!

I’m after some advice and help.
My 4 week older has taken to chuntering after every night feed- it can last up to 45 mins. ( I stay awake to make sure he’s not suck etc)
Then about an hour after that he will ask for food.
He then wakes at 4/5am with tummy pain and screaming in agony with lots of wind.
He has one shot of infacol before each feed.

He goes down from 9pm-12 with no problem
And no chuntering so I just don’t get it?!

Any help/ advice please as I’m so tired I’m losing the will to live.

MooseWL · 23/09/2020 08:43

@willowT yes mine definitely also ticks things off in the book that never get mentioned! She also writes "attended alone" every time which annoys me way more than it should because it's not like I'm allowed to bring my partner 😂

@flameprincess congratulations look at those arm rolls 😍

@chanel05 that sounds really tough, hope your recovery goes well x

MooseWL · 23/09/2020 08:46

@margo34 I know they do look big! Terries do sound appealing, especially for drying as we don't have a tumble drier (currently deciding whether to get one as baby washing over winter may be hard though we don't really have space! ) and our house is quite open and cold over winter.

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 09:35

OMG @Chanel05 you poor thing, hope you are ok and getting over the pain everyday. I just use a blanket and have it under her arms at chest level and tuck it in at the sides of the next to me. Will wrap her during the day when holding her.

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 09:36

Awww fab pic and congrats @flameprincess 💙

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 09:39

@Laura1348 our little girl doesn't wake crying but she's definitely churning after feeding for a while, we use the mam bottles and mixture of ready made aptamil and expressed Breast milk. Our health visitor comes today so I will ask her and let you know what she says

Smilymami · 23/09/2020 13:19

@Emmy2020b I was induced. I needed 2 pessaries to start things off. One pessary at 8pm (did nothing) and second one six hours later at 2am. Was in full blown labour by 3am and my water broke spontaneously at 4am, baby born at 7:21am. If my labour hadn't started after second pessary, the plan was to break my water.. however, I think mine was pretty fast (I was up on my feet all through, so may have helped speed things) and intense (I have to say painful too). I wish you goodluck.
@MooseWL I felt same way about my community midwives, infact I used to see no point in the appointments.. I was having regular scans, so they weren't even examining me apart from checking bp. However, at the tail end of pregnancy just before I gave birth, my midwife changed and became super helpful and empathetic.

Margo34 · 23/09/2020 14:13

Thanks for the link @Roxy8203 I will check them out 😊

Congratulations @flameprincess!

Laura1348 · 23/09/2020 14:45

@ShiningStarz that's great thanks. We make up aptamil formula over night.
Thank you

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 14:55

@Laura1348 normal for our little girl but she's had the cold so Iv been advised to put her in bathroom with shower on to breath in some steam as likely to be congestion with her. Maybe your little one is allergic to the aptamil, do you have a community midwife / health visitor yet? They could advise x

OrDis · 23/09/2020 16:11

Congratulations @flameprincess what a cutie!

Emmy2020b · 23/09/2020 16:39

@Smilymami I am wondering whether to get an epidural as I have heard inductions can be painful. Not had an epidural before with my last two so weighing up whether to have one.

Laura1348 · 23/09/2020 17:25

@ShiningStarz
Thabks for letting me know.
I've got HV next week so will log the sleep pattern and talk it through with her.
I have considered changing formula before...🤔🤔
Hope your little one is well
Xx

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 17:43

@Emmy2020b I had a planned induction. It started with the pessary. However within 2- 3 hrs of it going in I started feeling uncomfortable! Now know they were contractions! Anyway I kept going up to the nurse in absolute agony and she didn't really believe me at first (this was around midnight and my partner wasn't there).... about an hr later she hooked me up to baby heart rate monitor and examined me and it showed I was having contractions very regularly similar to that of established labour but only 1cm dilated and they could see baby heart rate dipping as every time I contracted the head was being squeezed but as I was only 1cm there was nowhere for baby to go! So they called doctor and removed pessary and injected me with something to stop contractions. I was then booked in for c section following morning as emergency.
Trust your instincts , I'm glad I did! I pushed to be kept attached to the monitor so I could monitor babies heart rate. They had me in hospital gown ready for c section from 7am!!

ShiningStarz · 23/09/2020 17:45

@Emmy2020b I started using the Freya app which times contractions and it was this which made me alert the midwife. A useful tool although this isnt your first so you'll know anyways x

Emmy2020b · 23/09/2020 18:48

Thanks everyone 😊 Well think I’m all ready now, everything is sorted and I’ve checked my bag and done the cleaning! Although my mum said she’d go round to tidy before I get home anyway. Now to relax while my husband makes dinner! Baby is moving like crazy 😁

Lilice · 23/09/2020 19:36

@Emmy2020b good luck for tomorrow! I'd say go with an open mind and see if you can tolerate the pain and if not have the epidural. Exciting times!

Lilice · 23/09/2020 19:40

@Laura1348 have you tried keeping him upright for like 15 minutes after his feed before putting him back to bed? My first baby did something similar to what you're describing and she had silent reflux

Emmy2020b · 23/09/2020 20:28

@Lilice Thank you 😊

ShiningStarz · 24/09/2020 05:29

Lots of luck @Emmy2020b you'll be meeting your baby soon. Remember your body is designed to cope with childbirth. Deep breathing and enjoy meeting your little one for the first time x

ShiningStarz · 24/09/2020 05:31

What a morning / middle of the night 😂

My beautiful daughter decides it would be fun to poop 3 times in 40 minutes & wee all over herself, her clothes and changing mat after the 2nd change 🙈 good job I love her!! All this and it's just gone 530am 😂😂😂

Emmy2020b · 24/09/2020 10:04

In hospital now! Feeling nervous!
