OK hopefully no-one else has started a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Neuro · 01/10/2007 11:14

Both of those bra links are good. Non wired maternity ones still feel weird to me after years of underwires. they make my chest feel all floppy instead of supported.

Nice new name Amani.

Wizzska · 01/10/2007 11:16

Darn it, all you people with boobs that aren't the size of planets! Gimme a bra that fits!! Will have to make my way to Bravissimo sooner than I'd like.

Amani - like the name!

Amani · 01/10/2007 11:35

cheers Wizzska and neuro

Neuro · 01/10/2007 11:51

Wizzka i have small ish ones (D) and my bra still feels funny. AND i am experiencing a nipple problems - you can see them in nearly everything i wear (not due to wearing see through clothing before you ask!)

Housemum · 01/10/2007 12:10

Morning all! Know the feeling - nips standing to attention! Luckily am still a B/C cup so wear the non-underwired padded sort which minimise the effect!

Like the name, MotherofZ - I will of course forget who you are for the first few times!

mixedmama · 01/10/2007 12:32

Is D considered small Neuro? I always thought that was the beginning of the bigger sizes. C being average.Could be completely made up on my part.

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 12:37

Morning all! Good luck with your employee today Suey, hope you reach a good compromise with her.
Like the new name Amani!
I am hoping to get out to get some new bras at the weekend, I am still in underwired ones which are definitely too small for me at the moment .
The hair growth on my legs is almost non-exsistent but has not slowed anywhere else! Think the hairy = boy/not hairy = girl theory is mostly an old wives tale - was hairy with DS1 but didn't grow hair with DS2.
Is anyone else starting to worry about what they will look like afterwards??? I know it is really selfish and the children are more than worth it but I think I am going to look a complete wreck! With DS1 my boobs suffered, still tiny afterwards but empty too . With DS2 my stomach suffered, lovely stretch marks meaning it never quite looked the same. This time it is my legs which are suffering, I got lots of little thread veins with the boys but this time I have varicose ones, one of them is on my ankle and in the middle of a massive patch of thread veins (looks like a big bruise) and now I have discovered more behind my knee and thigh. I think I am going to have to spend the rest of my life wearing bin bags...

Neuro · 01/10/2007 12:46

Mixedmama - I think D is getting on for big. I am usually only a B, but according to M and S bra fitter am now D. But i don't think they're particuarly big. If i put on a non maternity push up bra i look v busty, but not wearing them now of course!
So i don't know. I mean isn't Suey2 something crazy like FF?! I'd like to know what that's like!

Becklespeckle - i share your vein pain! I have little broken veins all over my legs and quite a few on my chest. Urgh. I am worried about them. I know laser surgery can get rid of them, but dont' think i'll have the money to spend on them!

And despite having small breasts (they don't look like a D cup) I am concerned about what they're going to look like. Think i'll worry about rest of my body next Spring. I body brush every day which i am hoping will be worth it! My cellulite ain't looking good, but i know that's due to extra weight. Nearly everyone has it apparently, but carrying extra weight merely makes it visible.

suey2 · 01/10/2007 12:53

Trust me neuro, you dont want to know what a 34GG/H feels like! They are sooo very heavy and every time i slump I am now breathless and getting heartburn.
Totally agree about life after junior body concerns. I remember doing an obs placement as a student and going around new mamas showing them how to work their tummy muscles safely. Honestly, it was like putting my hand onto a water bed! Am determined to get going ASAP: not necessarily with formal ex- but just being diligent with posture.
Pregnancy hormones in overload- could burst into tears at any time- I am certainly with you ladies! Particularly with lack of sleep.

Neuro · 01/10/2007 12:58

Oh poor you Suey. I think when you've had small ones all your life you get breast envy. Well i certainly have.

I think thanks to you posting on here i'm working hard on my posture - keep pretending my head is being pulled upwards by an invisible thread; and whenever i'm out and about i say NO WADDLING to myself and sort of adjust myself. I must say i do feel better when standing tall, esp as i have sacroliac problems.

I've got my next pregnancy massage on Friday. Can't wait!

How is everyone getting on with their diet? It is impossible to eat according to my pregnancy book - not enough hours in the day. I don't have time for 5 small meals

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 12:59

Neuro, broken veins aren't too bad afterwards, they tend to be reasonably disguised under a bit of fake (or real) tan. Also I know someone who had hers laser treated but TBH she said it didn't make much difference to them. I am usually a smallish B/C (depending on whether in a 32 or 34) although can only wear certain styles (like push up ones) or the top of the cups are empty! Have not measured myself properly for a while but with the boys I went up to a 34EE whilst pg and even more enormous once milk came in - looked like a porn star! I went back to my normal size afterwards but instead of having nice small boobs there seemed to be lots of skin and not too much filling . Depending on the state of them after this LO I am seriously considering having a boob job!

mixedmama · 01/10/2007 13:01

I have made a little plan for myself post baby to get me back in shape (that is back in shape to pre-DS1 by the way).

Nothing too taxxing, but trying to plan as much as I can (well as much ass is possible with children) in terms of meals, activities, housework, laundry to fit stuff in. I am lucky that I have my mum and dad near by to help out, have a gym on site where I live etc etc. Planning to start slowly tho with my Lilia dance dvd... whicch is in handy 15 min routines so wont take up too much time, plus my cousin has a exercise bike, really basic one and she uses it for her clothes so going to be pinching that for whilst watching Eastenders.

mixedmama · 01/10/2007 13:03

Hahaha depending on whether I am able to get a reasonable ssized tummy ever again I am considering a tummy tuck if we decide that we will not be having any more.

Amani · 01/10/2007 13:09

Pregnancy diet? yeah right - finally hit the 2 stone mark. Just read on the pregnancy thread that someone who is 34 has only put on 4 lbs!!

mixedmama · 01/10/2007 13:11

is that healthy?? presumably so otherwise i guess they would have been sorted out by MW by now, but wow. I am pigging out big time saving the diet for afterwards.

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 13:12

My 'get in shape' plan for afterwards consists of walking everywhere! That is what I did after both boys and it seemed to work quite well. The school run is nearly 1 mile round trip so doing that twice a day will hopefully help. I am also doing Race for Life again next year and would really like to run it this time (have roped my SIL who is much fitter than me in to spur me on) so will be trying to go to the gym once LO is a couple of months old to help prepare for that.

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 13:14

I have put on 1 stone 4 lbs now (at 27 weeks). I had started to get worried as I was not putting any weight on but I seem to have made up for it in the last couple of weeks!

Neuro · 01/10/2007 13:14

I definitely plan to have breast surgery after my 2nd baby. I am alreading planning ahead and have already researched the best shape as well as the best surgeons.

Am hoping by 40, i'll have had two babies, worked hard at exercise and got mostly into shape, got breasts nicely sorted and be looking at a new exciting chapter of my life (having fabulous breasts will help. I know it shouldn't be that way, but i don't want to live with spaniel's ears!!!!)

mixedmama · 01/10/2007 13:16

Definitely the walking everywhere as well hate public transport.... and with two childlren ugghhh dont even want to think about it.

skidaddle · 01/10/2007 13:16

beckle - snap with the small but empty boobs depressing, isn't it? So many people with big boobs have said to me - well at least you'll never have a problem with saggy boobs - little do they know

My plan for getting back in shape post-baby is:

  1. not to get too excited by initial weight loss due to bf-ing and gorge myself on loads of chocolates (like last time)
  2. go for lots of walks in the first six weeks
  3. go to the gym twice a week from 6 week check onwards, and once baby is a bit older and not feeding all the time, start doing all the sports I used to (football, running, cycling)

All worked fine last time but I suppose I'll have a lot less time with two to look after

Amani · 01/10/2007 13:19

Skid - Does BF really contribute to losing weight?

Wizzska · 01/10/2007 13:22

Neuro - speaking as someone getting to the end of being able to fit into an FF bra, I can tell you it ain't all that! Pert is a distant memory - or should I say mammary! Suey, I should be wearing your size bras.

skidaddle · 01/10/2007 13:25

amani - I'm sure it does initially - the first week or two after dd was born the weight just dropped off me - I never weighed myself but I imagine I lost a stone in a fortnight easy. But for me at least, bf-ing actually stopped me losing the last half stone or so because I couldn't/didn't do any strenuous exercise (too sore on heavy boobs)

BF uses up a lot of calories so it must help you lose weight - what maybe reverses it is that BF also makes you feel more hungry and thirsty

skidaddle · 01/10/2007 13:26

oh yes and neuro, a D-cup definitely doesn't constitute small - if it did, what would that make me in my barely an A-cup?!

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 13:30

Luckily I think most of my baby weight gain was due to water retention but I think BF helped too. I retained about 1/2 stone while I was feeding but that dropped off once I stopped (probably because I had no boobs anymore...).
Neuro, what info do you have on the best shapes and surgeons??? I am very interested as this is something I looked briefly into a few years ago but then decided I would like another child first.
