Wow @Babymaher huge congratulations I hope my sweep form today does similar but not holding my breath! X

Gigitree · 17/06/2020 20:16

Feeling so deflated, been having contractions for over 24 hrs now, but don’t seem to be progressing. I’ll have a few in a row that are 7-10 mins apart and then randomly 30mins apart once or twice and then back to 7-10mins apart.
On the one hand I’m glad something is happening, but it’s just so frustrating that I don’t seem to be progressing 😔

Zoey92 · 17/06/2020 20:56

Wow @Babymaher congratulations 😊

@gigitree me too, i wont lie im so jealous of all these sweeps that have worked!
I had one last thursday, had a show, bit cramping and pressure other than that not a thing & my MW said my cervix was very favourable and 2cm prior to it. Misses is just very comfy in there 😂

APD1981 · 18/06/2020 00:44

Wow. So many babies have arrived! Congratulations to all of you. So lovely to hear of all these healthy babies arriving via so many different birth experiences. Enjoy all the snuggles. Those who are still waiting...your time is nearly here. Hang in there; they're worth the wait!

Millettmum · 18/06/2020 00:59

TMI but has anyone had pains up their bum? Had more loose movements tonight.

BirdGarden · 18/06/2020 03:47

Congratulations @Babymaher 💐

BabyBird20 · 18/06/2020 05:18

@mrssunshinexxx having just had 3 day induction, 17 hour labour and then emergency c, I can honestly say if I had to choose right now I'd go with the planned section over induction!! The section part of my recovery hasn't been too bad, a lot of my swelling and pain is related to the epidural as the drip was so intense!!

Also thanks all for the well wishes, I am properly on the mend now on oral not iv antibiotics so they are going to let me home!! Yay!!

Busylizzie85 · 18/06/2020 05:51

That great news @BabyBird20 the day they took my cannula out and put me in oral was a great day! Have a speedy recovery now 😊

@BabyBird20 thanks, that's what I'm going to avoid a long induction process by saying I will only try peccesary/gel if that doesn't work I am not consenting to the drip will go straight for section x

Magpie21 · 18/06/2020 10:59

@BabyBird20 Glad to hear you are on the mend. You'll feel so much better when you can get home and be amongst your comforts again ☺️ What a week you've had!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 18/06/2020 16:41

Congratulations @babymaher!!

@AnonyHB I've put about my birth on the other thread but i was induced and after they had broken my waters my baby was born without instruments in 100 minutes! I was also worried about induction so completely understand your concerns but thought maybe a positive story would help.

Also just so you know you can start the induction process but at any point you can tell them you want to stop the induction and request a c section.

@Rinoa look at breastfeeding necklaces.

LillianFullStop · 18/06/2020 17:29

Still here...still hoping 😂
Currently eating spicy food even though i swear I'm immune to it by now 🤷‍♀️

Gigitree · 18/06/2020 19:18

Still here too @Zoey92 still having irregular contractions. Currently eating a toblerone and feeling sorry for myself!

Pegase · 18/06/2020 20:41

Sorry for delayed update- after waters broke Mon morning in spectacular fashion I then started contracting which was less than ideal! Did manage to get into theatre for C section before the point of no return though.

Argued to get discharged after 24 hrs or so as such a nightmare on the ward with no partners there.

Didn't manage to establish breastfeeding despite help from breastfeeding team in hospital so had to give formula. Milk has come in now so we had our first successful feeds today at home - will hopefully establish in next couple of weeks although she has a tongue tie.

mrssunshinexxx · 18/06/2020 21:07

@Pegase glad you are now home and milk has come in sorry that hospital experience wasn't great I'm dreading that part.
What will you do about the tongue tie will midwife snip at home I'm abit clueless but worried about tongue tie not being diagnosed or sorted soon enough

Pegase · 18/06/2020 21:11

I don't think they will- have to go on NHS waiting list or go private around here.

mrssunshinexxx · 18/06/2020 21:19

That's madness surely it's going to affect latch and cause you pain ? Crazy @Pegase take care of yourself x

peetieswie · 19/06/2020 02:45

My belly is so itchy I want to scream. Constantly moisturising it with e45, aloe vera and oils. Any other ideas? Apart from having the baby obviously. Due date today.

peetieswie · 19/06/2020 02:56

Congrats on all the new babies guys! (not worjed out tagging expect remembering usernames and typing in full, which is beyond me at 3am!)

Seventytwoseventythree · 19/06/2020 05:28

Hi everyone, baby girl is here! Had her on 17th after having contractions for 36 hr. had epidural in the end because I was so exhausted. Was a wonderful idea and absolutely no issues or complications with it, to reassure anyone who’s stressed about it. Midwifery and medical teams were fab and you do get used to the masks pretty quickly. Baby and I are home and just getting used to each other. Hope everyone is well.

Busylizzie85 · 19/06/2020 06:13

Congratulations @Seventytwoseventythree enjoy those well deserved baby cuddles x

Hi everyone...been lurking this post for a couple weeks, 38+6 today. @peetieswie maybe ask your midwife about cholestasis (urgently), that sounds a bit more severe than just stretchy itching?!

Already have 2 kids DD1 was 5 days late and 6lbs 12.5oz, DD2 on time and 8lbs 4.5oz!! bit worried with this one being a boy that he's going to be massive!! So I'm hoping he doesn't stick around in there much longer.

Congratulations to all the new mummies ❤

peetieswie · 19/06/2020 10:13

I have midwife today so I'll ask them about it. It's not so bad in the day but some nights gets super itchy and I can't sleep. But baby has definitely dropped and is pushing out skin in a different way that is stretching other areas so could be that.
