Congratulations @Seventytwoseventythree Hope you are feeling well. Good to hear good (albeit long) experience!

Hope everyone is feeling OK. No updates from me, just enjoying the free time to read and relax before the little one arrives ☺️

Zoey92 · 19/06/2020 11:26

Well i woke at 7.45 with period like cramping and back pain, contemplated getting my OH home but it eased off 🤷‍♀️sooooo i went back to sleep 😂
I feel quite crap today if im honest really tired

39+5

josiejo1990 · 19/06/2020 12:11

hope that's all it is @peetieswie 😊.

@Zoey92 hopefully your body telling you to get a rest and get ready for the big event!

Zoey92 · 19/06/2020 12:26

@josiejo1990 i really hope so!
The messages off people have started this week 😂 "how you doing" " any signs" i think thays winding me up more too

josiejo1990 · 19/06/2020 12:30

@Zoey92 I actually hung out upstairs while hubby and kids had a video call with the in-laws yesterday just because I can't bear all the questions...best thing about lock down is seeing much fewer people at this stage haha

Cornishbumpkin · 19/06/2020 12:35

@Zoey92 @josiejo1990 the 'how you feeling?' Messages seem to annoy me the most like they're indirectly asking if anything is happening yet lol. I feel bad though cause I know it's just that everyone else is excited. I'm not sure whether it would be better just to be seeing people at this point, might mean less messages (feeling incredibly hormonally grumpy 😂)

josiejo1990 · 19/06/2020 12:51

@Cornishbumpkin I feel you on the indirectness being irritating but also would probably be miffed if noone was asking me how I was either 🤣 I am a fickle beast.

On another note just sneezed and every muscle under my bump was agony for the next two minutes arghh!

Zoey92 · 19/06/2020 12:59

@josiejo1990Honestly im in a foul mood today😂
This is when i do have her, ive told family for the 1st 24hrs at least do NOT tell anyone, no social media nothing, my partners sister did that with her 2nd baby & she said it was bliss.

@Cornishbumpkin
I had my first hormonal outburst other day ive been pretty good tbh, tea wasnt what i want when i started eating it ao broke down 😂😂

mrssunshinexxx · 19/06/2020 13:10

@Cornishbumpkin if I have another baby I am either not yelling due date or saying a date 2 weeks later ! I feel you on the annoying messages I'll obviously tell the people that matter when she's here

Cornishbumpkin · 19/06/2020 13:30

@josiejo1990 absolutely would be annoyed too 😂😂

@Zoey92 love the emotional outbursts over food! Liking the idea of 24hr radio silence

@mrssunshinexxx definitely the plan for next time!!

Magpie21 · 19/06/2020 13:44

We were probably all that annoying friend who text our friends the 'any signs' message at some point he he! I like the tactic or providing a later due date!

I'm just wondering for those of you who have experienced the cramps that feel like they are leading up to the main event...how did you find the pain? I'm a bit nervous about how I will cope with the pain but part of me is hoping a natural instinct will kick in and I will be able to breathe through it.

umabb · 19/06/2020 13:53

So nice to see all those lovely photos of our new babies xxx @BabyBird20 the worst is in the past and all is getting better ! Enjoy the cuddles xxx

Magpiefeather · 19/06/2020 13:57

Well I am a bit disappointed. Had my 40 week MW appointment just now (am 39+5) , it was a different midwife and she wouldn’t do a sweep as guidelines state not to offer one until after 40 weeks. Just a bit frustrated because my usual midwife had said she would do one at this appointment. Anyway not much can be done about that but we are quite rural and there isn’t another clinic at my gp for 2 weeks, and the cover midwife basically didn’t know what I should do about an appointment next week. so I’m spending the afternoon ringing round seeing where else I can be seen!

She also said all my cramps and contractions that petered out are very common in second or third time mums - and will be doing something to thin cervix etc. Baby back to back though!! Come on baby turn! So she told me to do lots of bouncing on the ball and sitting upright, all fours. Thing is I do lots of those things already, don’t really think I can do much more!!

So I’ve gone from feeling like it could be any moment I go into labour to feeling like I’ll still be pregnant in a week. Never mind! A great lesson in letting go of trying to control things!

Gave myself a bit of a talking to last night as well and reminded myself how many women would give anything to be able to carry a baby to full term, and all the mummas worrying about poorly babies who have come very early. So I should be grateful Not impatient. (Easily said!)

mrssunshinexxx · 19/06/2020 14:00

@Magpie21 I wouldn't say I'm getting cramps more like sharp stabby pains really low down I just breath normally they aren't too bad x

AnonyHB · 19/06/2020 14:42

I’ve deactivated my Facebook and messenger temporarily to stop the constant messages from everyone asking ‘how are you?’ I don’t mind from close friends but so many people I hardly know are so nosey. I don’t understand the fascination. Anyway it was pissing me off so I’ve taken both down. I never even ‘announced’ my pregnancy on social media so no idea how some of these people know I’m pregnant!!

josiejo1990 · 19/06/2020 15:23

@Magpie21 think it's pretty rare for them not to come on gradually, just have to have faith that you'll find a way of coping as your instincts take over a bit!

@magpiefeather what a shame for you, although maybe good that you're not having a sweep if baby is b2b, giving it a chance to turn round? I have heard spontaneous labour is unlikely with b2b but not sure how true that is...wishing you luck anyway

peetieswie · 19/06/2020 15:50

Just saw midwife. Different one to usual but she was lovely. I asked her about sweep and she said she'd do it if I wanted. I asked if she advised I have one she said it's probably a bit early as I'm only on due date today, and just cos my bump is measuring big doesn't mean baby is, so we agreed to leave it till next Wednesday. I didn't really like the idea of baby coming before it's ready anyway. She also wasn't worried about itchy bump at night unless I had other symptoms. Baby may be back to back but she told me not to worry about that as it could turn but was hard to tell position anyway. Basically, don't worry, keep doing what I'm doing, and be patient.

SearchingTheSkies · 19/06/2020 16:19

Congratulations @Seventytwoseventythree - hope you're doing well!

Congratulations @Pegase - glad you got to go ahead with the c section. How are you finding recovery? Hope you manage to get the tongue tie sorted ASAP.

39 weeks today 😊

Zoey92 · 19/06/2020 17:19

@cornishbumpkin me too, obviously family will know, I'm not on FB anyways but my partner is so he's also been warned 😂 i just want that first day for us to take it all in before swamped with messages or calls.

@Magpiefeather sorry about your appointment, seems like us woth 21st due date are not having much luck with progress atm 🤦‍♀️

@Magpie21 i can only describe mine atm as period cramps

BabyBird20 · 19/06/2020 18:19

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies! I'm home and so much happier!! Had some lovely time
Together as a family again and finally chose a name for our little bean. Benji (short for Benjamin) Alastair 🥰🥰 Still working on the swollen legs and sore bump but definitely gradually recovering! Feeling a bit more human each day.

Thinking of all those of you still playing the waiting game, hang in there it will all be worth it in the end!! ❤️❤️❤️

Rinoa · 19/06/2020 19:24

@AndddddHerewegoagain thanks just looked at the necklaces but I don't think baby will be distracted by anything!

LittleMrsMama · 19/06/2020 23:01

Hi all,

It's been great reading through this thread with lots of excitement of little ones arriving or due to arrive soon. I'm due in July but being induced early because the baby is measuring big so looks like I'll have a June baby now! Just saying hi and hope it's okay for me to join late and get all your wisdom and insight!

Magpiefeather · 20/06/2020 06:14

Thanks @Zoey92 and @josiejo1990. I am chilled again now, it was just annoying in the moment because I’d built myself up to having a sweep!

Like @peetieswie the midwife didn’t seem too concerned about baby being back to back and said he will most probably turn, and that might be why he isn’t properly engaged yet, because he’s trying to turn around. So I’m not stressed about it really! Positivity all the way.

Agree with everyone that the messages are getting annoying!! I personally prefer the ones that at least give a veiled attempt at asking about how I’m feeling rather than the “any signs?” Or “no baby yet then?” . Sometimes feel like going “bloody hell, you know what, when I got your message I thought I’d check and oh my god you’re right, I hadn’t realised, the baby’s head is out!” But I can’t be that horrible.

Hope everyone is well and happy today Smile

mrssunshinexxx · 20/06/2020 07:13

Anyone else due date today? X

Millettmum · 20/06/2020 07:51

@Magpiefeather
I must admit we was a bit cruel to the MIL, she rang and said yes we're home from hospital look at our baby, turned on FaceTime and showed the dog. She took the joke and don't think she fully believed me but then she got the hint ha.
