Aww @Busylizzie85 she is such a cutie ♥️

Rang triage this morning due to more of a ‘trickle’ again, so had to go up to the day unit to have a swab to see if it was my waters. Swab came back negative so I’m back home again now eating pineapple and drinking iced tea, hoping that things will start to get going again soon. Going to get on my ball In a moment and bounce to see if that gets things going.

Zoey92 · 16/06/2020 14:35

@Magpie21 really thought I'd replied🤦‍♀️

I was given the option for a sweep at my 38wk app last Thursday, i knew I'd want one if she offered.
Yes my due date is Sunday 😊

Blizy · 16/06/2020 14:48

Congratulations @BabyBird20, although I'm sorry to hear you are poorly. I hope you have a speedy recovery. X

Just a wee update on my little one. We named her Rose and after our 1:6 chance of Down's syndrome it appears she is in the clear! Obviously it wouldn't have made a bit of difference to us, but I am so relieved! She is doing well except for some feeding issues she lost 13% off birth weight and we are on a feeding plan. She is gaining weight though. She is so sleepy and difficult to wake for feeds and because she is so tiny she struggles to open her mouth wide enough to get a proper latch. It's all very stressful!

Blizy · 16/06/2020 14:50

Here she is, my little Rose.

@Blizy she is a little beauty

Magpie21 · 16/06/2020 15:49

@zoey92 I would have taken one at 38 weeks to if I had been offered! 😊 Seems to be different policies across the different Trusts in the UK. Did you find the sweep ok?

Congratulations @Blizy I love the name Rose 🌹x

Zoey92 · 16/06/2020 16:47

@Magpie21 i found it no more than what it was like having cervical screening or as they used to call it a smear, i was so on edge & once she done it i thought "is that it" 😂
I have heard if your cervix isn't soft that's when it tends to be abit more uncomfortable.
I've noticed that alot, I'm from the northeast (newcastle)
How you feeling today?

Gigitree · 16/06/2020 17:21

Oh she’s gorgeous @Blizy ♥️🌹

Magpie21 · 16/06/2020 17:22

@Zoey92 ah, that's must be it. I'm down in London, so must just be different polices :-) I'm feeling good thanks! Fairly comfortable, I just get tired easily. My biggest complaint is the number of toilet trips I have to make in the night, but that really isn't a big deal!

Hopefully you will wake up one day (or night) and things will have ramped up significantly in the next couple of days and you'll be on your way in! If your cervix was so favorable that must be a good sign. She'll come when she is ready! 😇 x

BirdGarden · 16/06/2020 17:29

@missgemini I had an epidural with my first as I had the drip. I tried so hard to manage without but I do see why they are recommended! Having just had my first non-induced labour it was very different and my main pain relief was tens and shouting - though I did still contract short, sharp and regularly so the midwife did say perhaps there is an element of that's how I'm built, then with the drip on top, yeah, ow.

Like @Busylizzie85 unfortunately the epidural didn't work that well for me either. I'm not great with anaesthetics in general, they had to give me a triple dose for my repairs yesterday and I've always struggled with dental ones too etc.

For those worried about lack of signs - I had nothing, not even any discharge, until 41 weeks when I had a few hours of contractions before falling asleep; period pains at 41+1, contractions start again at 8pm, was in MLU by 10:30pm and baby girl here at 41+2. So from zero to baby in 30 hours 🙂

Cornishbumpkin · 16/06/2020 18:22

That's reassuring @BirdGarden.

I haven't had any signs at all. Went to midwife appt today and attempted a sweep but cervix was too posterior so she couldn't do it Sadbaby is certainly far too comfy in there.

40+1

Millettmum · 16/06/2020 18:30

I had my last growth scan today (37+5) everything still good and they're still happy with my readings (for gestational diabetes) but have now said that I will be induced early when they said last time that they will let me go a few days over. I'm to talk to the consultant in a week and have a sweep this Saturday. Had two bouts of loose bowel movements today, maybe I'll just start myself before. A little annoyed with the conflicting information.

Babymaher · 16/06/2020 18:39

So midwife appointment went well, I will only be getting one sweep due to covid 19 so induction has also been booked for next week at 41+5. Midwife said that I was 1.5cm dilated and that my cervix was “favourable” since getting home I’ve had pink tinged mucus, abdo cramps and back pain so hopefully things will progress 🤞🏻

mrssunshinexxx · 16/06/2020 19:06

@Cornishbumpkin that was like mine last wed cervix right to the back it was uncomfortable so she just rubbed my cervix for 10 seconds in the hope it would do something - it didn't. Got my second one tomorrow really hoping there has been some change down there

chocolate26 · 16/06/2020 19:12

Our baby girl Ivy was born last night at 11.52pm at 39+2 weighing 8 pounds 2 ounces. She is gorgeous and we are so in love! Who else on here has a baby girl called Ivy? 😊 Was that the name you had planned for her? I haven't met any other Ivys! We've had the name since we found out I was pregnant.

Gigitree · 16/06/2020 19:42

Ahh congratulations @chocolate26 she’s gorgeous! How are you feeling? ♥️

Babymaher · 16/06/2020 19:57

@chocolate26 congratulations Ivy is beautiful 😍

Blizy · 16/06/2020 20:12

Congratulations @chocolate26!
I love the name Ivy, it was on my list.
Rose was very nearly named Iris or Eve. However we let our ds choose her name from the top 3 as we couldn't decide!

Magpie21 · 16/06/2020 20:15

Awww, Congratulations @chocolate26 I love the name! It's a week for the baby girl arrivals. Hope you are feeling well x

SearchingTheSkies · 16/06/2020 20:18

Congratulations @chocolate26 - she is so adorable!! Lovely name as well. Hope you're feeling ok 😊

chocolate26 · 16/06/2020 20:29

Thank you everyone! I'm feeling well, long 29 hour labour and a 2nd degree tear but it was so amazing and worth it all! We got home at about 3pm today and she's been sleeping for most of it, I miss her when she's sleeping ☺️

Busylizzie85 · 16/06/2020 22:17

@chocolate26 yes my baby is Ivy it was my grandmothers name and always wanted a girl to name her after her 😊

Busylizzie85 · 16/06/2020 22:20

As it's a first night home and it's very warm up in our bedroom around 21-22 degrees I'm not sure what to let her sleep in!? At the moment she's in a vest and baby grow with a thin blanket? Would you take the baby grow off and use a Muslim as a blanket or leave her as she is?
I feel like I know nothing 🙈
