Baby bird was finally born last night by emergency c section after 3 days trying to induce me leading to a 17 hour labour where we just couldn't get the last half Cm dilated and the baby wasn't descending (he basically wouldn't fit which is what I suspected all along!) C section wasn't a good experience in all the panic but it brought us our little boy so all worth it in the end! In hospital for a couple of days while I recover now!

Pegase · 11/06/2020 18:17

Congratulations and sorry you had a rough time of it! Rest up!

Cornishbumpkin · 11/06/2020 18:20

Congratulations @Blizy and @BabyBird20

Sounds positive @Zoey92 fingers crossed things continue to progress

Magpie21 · 11/06/2020 18:28

A girl! 💖🌹Congratulations @Blizy Hope you are feeling good.

@BabyBird20 I'm sorry to hear that the birth was a long ordeal. Rest up and let the midwives give you all the support you need. Congratulations xx

It's helpful to see all the chat between the new mums regarding BF etc. xx

I managed to express my first bit of colostrum today. I'm so happy about that. Got some syringes coming tomorrow. I'm bringing some of those ready to feed Aptimal bottles packed in my hospital bag as back up to cover all bases.

BirdGarden · 11/06/2020 18:42

Congratulations @blizy and @BabyBird20!

@Cornishbumpkin thank you i was caught abit off guard when she said i was 2cm 😂 my OH just said to me " so how long then" 🙄😒 ermmmm

Gigitree · 11/06/2020 19:02

Congratulations @BabyBird20 sorry to hear you had quite an ordeal in the end xxx

Kez437 · 11/06/2020 19:08

Good news from me also. After all my complaining things got going pretty quickly, started contractions at 6pm yesterday evening, coped well at home until this morning and then made my way into hospital for 10am. Was 4cm on arrival so hubby was able to join me in Home from Home straight away, waters broke at 11.30am and things ramped up from there. Baby Eva was delivered at 2.09 in the birthing pool just as I was demanding more pain relief 😂
It feels completely surreal to think she is ours, it definitely has not sunk in yet. Hubby has only just left and will me back for me in the morning. Just want to reassure every expecting lady left that my care has been nothing short of incredible and apart from a swab test when I was first admitted Covid has not been a feature at all. Hubby and I have been fed and watered a lot and the midwives were nothing short of incredible. You got this ladies!🥰
Now to nail breastfeeding...🙄

MissisBee · 11/06/2020 19:12

Baby Bee has arrived safely too - a busy day for new arrivals!
She was born by planned caesarean this morning, 7lb exactly (predicted 7lb 8oz, so not far off!). Absolutely beautiful and feeding away like a pro. Feeling a bit sore - I'd forgotten about the uterus cramps you get during feeds 😬

Gigitree · 11/06/2020 19:21

Wow! What a busy day for new arrivals! A lady from my NCT class had her baby today too!

Congratulations to @Kez437 and @missisbee ♥️♥️♥️

BirdGarden · 11/06/2020 19:21

Congratulations @missisbee and @kez437 - oh my god my other due date buddy! Flipping heck, am I the "furthest gone" here now?? Seem to be a lot of prompt babies around not keeping their mummies waiting too long!

Magpiefeather · 11/06/2020 19:23

Oh wow congratulations to all the mummies of new babies!!!

Wow @Zoey92 that’s great news!

Did everyone who has given birth have to have the Covid test on being admitted? Not worried about the result, more that I hate having things put up my nose and I’m worried it will bring me out of my “zone”! Silly thing to worry about really I know.

Busylizzie85 · 11/06/2020 19:30

Congratulations @Kez437 @MissisBee so many arrivals today!!

@BirdGarden I'm 41 weeks tomorrow so your not alone x

Seventytwoseventythree · 11/06/2020 19:38

Wow very jealous of all the new babies, congratulations everyone! Glad we have lots of healthy babies. Still nothing happening here at 39+3 😭

LillianFullStop · 11/06/2020 19:55

Wow congrats @Babybird20, @Kez437 and @MissisBee!!

APD1981 · 11/06/2020 19:58

Just logged on and can't believe all the births!! Congratulations to you all - you did it, however it happened! So pleased you all had healthy babies ❤❤❤

@lillianfullstop definitely time for a post natal thread I think!!

BirdGarden · 11/06/2020 19:59

@Busylizzie85 sorry you're waiting too, you are a day ahead of me. I've always said this baby will be late and physically I've coped well until now, but last day or two it's hitting me after 2pm each day. I'm going to do all cooking and cleaning before 2, then I can spend the rest of the day trying to persuade DD to do quiet things, and crawling to the loo for a million wees 🙈 Do you have any signs something might happen soon?

Busylizzie85 · 11/06/2020 20:03

@BirdGarden no no signs that naturally anything will happen! I am meant to be induced tomorrow as the risk of preeclampsia is high and they are worried about the amount of swelling I have and my high blood pressure so fingers crossed I will have a baby this weekend.
I hope yours gets a wiggle on soon they can't stay in there forever!!

Lovely to have some baby girls arrive on the thread too! I've tried to update our sheet with the arrivals apologies if I've missed anyone out!

@Blizy I don't think I know what your due date was?

Pegase · 11/06/2020 20:12

@Magpie21 keep it up with the colostrum expressing- I have been going for a week now and finally it is coming a bit more easily!!

BirdGarden · 11/06/2020 20:13

@Busylizzie85 oh bless you - the end is definitely in sight for you tomorrow then! I hope it all goes well for you x

My daughter was late, I was late, my husband was three weeks(!) late so odds are on for me to go into next week I think. Aside from feeling a little crampy this afternoon I have no signs that I'm even full term anymore 😳

Missgemini · 11/06/2020 20:16

Oh my goodness! What a day! Congrats @blizy @BabyBird20 @kez437 @missisbee enjoy all the cuddles! So happy for you all!

I'm 41+2 and still very much pregnant 🤣

Busylizzie85 · 11/06/2020 20:54

@BirdGarden sounds like your one is following the trend then!!
