38+4

Gigitree · 10/06/2020 11:05

@Magpie21 you’re not behind everyone! I’m only just 38 weeks today! So you’re still ahead of me! 😁

Millettmum · 10/06/2020 11:08

Everyone is ahead of me, only 37 weeks tomorrow. Due 2nd July but because of the GD I thought I'd be induced in June but doesn't look like it now as I've been diet controlled and everything has been good. Still hoping that she comes early though being my second pregnancy.

Rinoa · 10/06/2020 11:22

Sorry I'm late. I have not ready any updates yet but baby C was born on Sunday at 10pm. Contractions started at 5am that day! Delivered 1 hr after arriving at hospital it was intense. Water birth with gas and air.

We're so exhausted and I'm having trouble BF. :( I even topped up w formula as we were scared baby was dehydrated and not eating. He's been very fussy 😩 mw said he is fine though. I think I need to try and feed every hr but it's hard to get him to latch !

Cb31 · 10/06/2020 11:23

Congratulations @HaichMal and @Girlinajumpsuit!!!!!

I've had my second pessary gel. Waiting to be assessed again at 1pm. Have been having some contractions but they always seem to tail off. They'll do a 3rd pessary if they still can't break my waters. Baby clearly doesn't want to make an appearance yet. Just wish I was at home rather than hospital. I've got things to keep me entertained included my husband but still feel cooped up. Been for a walk outside but there's only so long I can walk for.

Good luck to others with impending arrivals x

Babymaher · 10/06/2020 11:31

Congratulations to all the new arrivals so many new babies 😍 I’ve got to go in at 12:30 for reduced movements never had to go in before so should probably think myself lucky. Have no idea what will happen or how long I will be there for.

Millettmum · 10/06/2020 11:51

Congratulations @Rinoa on baby C! You will get there x

Missgemini · 10/06/2020 12:16

@rinoa congratulations on your new arrival. I hope things get better on the breastfeeding front and you manage to get some rest xx

Busylizzie85 · 10/06/2020 12:21

Congratulations @Rinoa on baby C I hope the breast feeding gets easier for you!

SearchingTheSkies · 10/06/2020 12:22

Congratulations, @Rinoa !! Lovely news! I hope the feeding improves soon. Hang in there x

Blizy · 10/06/2020 12:23

Congratulations @Rinoa! I had a lot of issues
Feeding my ds, I found the Kelly mom website invaluable for info!

Good luck to all being induced/in labour today!

I had call from the hospital, I've to go in tomorrow morning at 7:30 and I'm first on the theatre list, so should be taken down around 8:45. Shit has got real!

goldenT · 10/06/2020 12:25

38+5 waters have broken this morning but no contractions yet hospital sent me home once they confirmed it was my waters and got my blood pressure down so now I'm just waiting for some contractions and if nothing I'm to return at 4am to be induced can't believe baby will be 9/8 days early

Gigitree · 10/06/2020 12:32

Congratulations @Rinoa ♥️ Xxx

Blizy · 10/06/2020 12:34

@goldenT
So exciting!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 10/06/2020 12:36

Congratulations @Rinoa enjoy your beautiful boy.

Just wanted to say on the breastfeeding side ive been feeding with formula top ups as dd wasn't getting enough. We're on day 18 now and my supply has just caught up so we can start to drop formula. Be kind to yourself and give your body time to recover as well. Please feel free to message me if you want to chat about it x

Kez437 · 10/06/2020 12:40

Congratulations to all the new arrivals and the fresh mummas, hope you are all doing well 🥰

At 40+4 I am very much in the fed up camp. Been trying to keep myself positive and think 'baby will come when baby is ready' but the reality is I'm bored and frustrated and feel like baby has no intention of showing up 😞 I have been having cramping but nothing consistent, third sweep tomorrow in the hope it does something to bring baby on and if not induction on Tuesday. For the first time in the last couple of days I have felt my body is now at its absolute limit, like I feel physically exhausted. Sorry, just need to rant 😣

MissisBee · 10/06/2020 13:38

Congratulations @Rinoa. I hope things become easier with the feeding for you.

My last day before section not going to plan - current waiting at triage with high bp and swelling! I thought I'd escaped blood pressure issues this time

BirdGarden · 10/06/2020 13:43

@rinoa congratulations and hang on in there with the feeding - just because it's natural doesn't mean it's easily learnt! It took ages to get DD to latch, we were in hospital for a week and the SCBU doctors were really keen that she was breastfed for health reasons (thankfully I'd planned on EBF all along anyway). It was an hourly job of trying to get her to latch, and they took out her feeding tubes and glucose drip etc and basically allowed her to feel hunger after 4 or 5 days when she was stable enough to be allowed to! We were still struggling with encouraging her to latch when we left after a week, but I do feel we turned a corner after a couple of days at home when we were both a bit more relaxed. So all in all over a week to feel reasonably confident that she would latch on when hungry. It feels like forever at the time though. Definitely helped lying down with her as I guess that relaxes mum too. I second the Kelly Mom website for great info. In the end we happily breastfed until 20 months when she packed it in herself, I think because I was preggers.

@Kez437 I'm still hanging in there at 40+4 too. Had no sweeps, offered one for Saturday but will be declining I think. I have no signs at all baby will appear any time soon, couple of cramps this morning and that's the most I've had in days. Honestly I can still give myself a pedicure. My body feels no different and not ready to go into labour; which is really weird for my head because everything around me says "it's time!" I would say 'everyone' around me too, but thankfully I had a really reassuring midwife at my appointment yesterday who was very supportive and I felt a lot more confident that this is all ok after speaking with her. I'm sort of expecting my body to feel "fed up" when it's really time to go.

FTEngineerM · 10/06/2020 13:49

Congratulations on the new babies 😍.

40+2 and just attempted a sweep but wasn’t favourable 😫 he’s going to be there for a while yet I think. Induction will be booked for day before my birthday

babyt2020 · 10/06/2020 14:41

Hi ladies, so exciting to see all the babies appearing!! I'm 40+4 today, just had my first sweep, she said my cervix has shortened and softened but could only get one finger in so couldn't do a full sweep but hopefully this might do something??

She also said the baby has gone back to back which worries me a bit, can the baby flip at any time? I had a scan 10 days ago and it wasn't then?

Busylizzie85 · 10/06/2020 14:44

@babyt2020 mines moved position as well it took them ages to try and work out where she's moved to but I have a feeling they said back to back rather than what she was before which was front to back 🤷🏻‍♀️ they did not seem concerned though.

OP posts:
BirdGarden · 10/06/2020 15:09

@babyt2020 I'm 40+4 too and mine can spin right round 360 degrees, posterior, anterior and either side! Flipping hurts now though and sometimes they do full spins! I'm seeing it as a positive that hopefully they still have room to turn in delivery?

babyt2020 · 10/06/2020 15:37

Busy Lizzie and bird garden thankyou! That makes me feel better!! I'm currently on all fours over my birth ball and keeping my fingers crossed! 🤞🤞

Smiffette · 10/06/2020 15:43

@FTEngineerM I'm 40+2 also, saw MW yesterday but she said they would t do a sweep until I was 7 days over as it's my first.... I persuaded her to let me come back on Friday though to do it then. Reason being they will book me for an induction on Friday next week if she hasn't come by then, and at least if I have a sweep this Friday gives me more time for things to get moving hopefully!

Best case scenario is I don't need either and she will make her own merry little way by Friday 🤞🏻😃

Magpie21 · 10/06/2020 16:01

@Gigitree You are right! :-) We are on the home stretch now!

@Rinoa Congratulations! I'm sure things will get easier day-by-day on the BF front

@Kez437 Sorry that you are having a bad day. Hopefully the cramps are a good sign and that 3rd sweep will do the trick.
