Congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit thanks for sharing your experience xx

sarahlounich · 10/06/2020 05:30

Aww congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit! although things didn't go to plan you sound really positive about your experience and I'm sure you're just glad to be holding your little one 🥰

Magpiefeather · 10/06/2020 06:15

That’s such great news that your baby is here @Girlinajumpsuit! Congratulations and hope you have a smooth recovery. It’s really great that you still had a good experience despite it not going quite as you imagined, and it sounds like the medical team did a good job of jumping into action when they needed to. Glad your baby is here safely.

I swore I wouldn’t do this but I got my hopes up yesterday that it was all starting. I was having contractions most of the day which seemed to be getting more intense and baby was definitely burrowing right down, lots of pressure down below, and I had the good old bowel clear out. After putting 3 year old to bed I had a good dinner, bounced on the ball for a good hour and a half, then got an early night thinking I’d need the rest! Really thought I’d be up in the night going into proper labour, but no, it all tailed off and this morning baby is still very much on the inside. Really trying not to get stressed about it - he must just not be quite ready yet! And view it as positive practice / warming up for the real thing, but I admit I am a bit disappointed!

38+3 so still plenty of time!

APD1981 · 10/06/2020 06:16

@girlinajumpsuit huge congratulations on baby Theo! Glad he arrived safely in the end- that's the most important thing x

Magpiefeather · 10/06/2020 06:30

Ooh also I meant to ask.... I know there are a few of us with 3 year olds.... are anyone’s kids getting a bit anxious in the night? We have prepped our dd as much as we can that when baby comes mummy and daddy need to go to the hospital so her auntie (who she adores) or nana is coming to look after her. She has seemed fine with this until now, I think lockdown has intensified her fear of us going away and her not knowing when we will be back, as she is waking more at night very upset and seems to just want to check I am still there. She is an astute little thing and I think she has clocked that it will be really soon. We’ve framed it as positively as we can and we’ve even had to promise that if we have to go to hospital in the night time we will wake her up to tell her first. She was just getting too worried to sleep well! Anyway I suppose I’m asking is anyone else in the same boat? Have you found any good solutions? Or those who’ve already given birth were your little ones ok in the actual event??

I’m also slightly worried about her seeing me in the throes of labour. She will be really worried about me I know. Silly parental worries really as none can be helped and we’ll all just have to cope!

HaichMal · 10/06/2020 07:17

@Girlinajumpsuit congratulations

I hope things have gone/go well @BabyBird20, @sarahlounich and @Chels2

My sweep did the job and my little girl was born 6:49pm, 8lb12 as predicted, and I got the water birth I wanted. My waters didn't break early (seriously there was quite a lot) but she came very quickly once I got into established labour (59mins). There was meconium so we've been in overnight but I've not slept much at all

Magpiefeather · 10/06/2020 07:28

Ahhhh @HaichMal congratulations! That’s wonderful and wow what a fast established labour!! Hope you manage to get a bit of rest today.

MissisBee · 10/06/2020 07:28

Congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit and @HaichMal Glad your babies have arrived safely.

@Magpiefeather I'm not sure my 3 year old really gets it yet, even though we've been trying to prepare him a lot. He'll be seeing Grandma tomorrow for the first time in nearly 3 months when I go in for my section, so I think that excitement might win the day.

Cornishbumpkin · 10/06/2020 07:33

Congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit and @HaichMal so glad to hear you have babies here safely Smile

Pretty convinced I'm guna go overdue as little man seems very comfy and haven't had any kind of sign to say he's coming anytime soon Smile

39+2

Gigitree · 10/06/2020 07:33

Girlinajumpsuit · 10/06/2020 07:44

@mrssunshinexxx no they just topped up my epidural with more local anaesthetic. That was the most stressful part really as took me AGES to become sufficiently numb and they were getting close to having to do general.

@HaichMal huge huge congrats and wow what a speedy established labour. How lovely that you also got the water birth you had hoped for. Smile

Millettmum · 10/06/2020 07:52

@Girlinajumpsuit
Congratulations on baby Theo x

Millettmum · 10/06/2020 07:55

@HaichMal
And congratulations as well for your baby girl x

UKtoSK · 10/06/2020 08:02

Congratulations @girlinajumpsuit and @HaichMal!

Meanwhile I’m only 37+4 and feeling like I will be pregnant forever. Even my maternity clothes don’t fit comfortably anymore.

Missgemini · 10/06/2020 08:32

@HaichMal congratulations! Were you trying to break the world record? Haha!
So happy for you. Enjoy the cuddles :)

SearchingTheSkies · 10/06/2020 08:42

Wow, so many babies!!! Congratulations to @Girlinajumpsuit @HaichMal and @Mj2196 Hope you are all recovering well and enjoying your precious little ones.

Good luck to everyone going through the induction process - looking forward to hearing your good news soon.

@UKtoSK Yep, I'm right there with you at 37+5. 😂 Luckily I still have work to keep my mind occupied, but as of Monday I'm on mat leave and will be feeling rather impatient.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 10/06/2020 08:51

Congratulations @HaichMal and @Girlinajumpsuit!!

@Magpiefeather my 3 year old was aware of the baby but was ok during pregnancy and was so happy to see my sister and his cousins that overtook me leaving! Since we've been home hes been great, has been up in the night a couple of times but haven't we all 😴😴😂
I think being back at nursery has helped him settle back into a routine.

BirdGarden · 10/06/2020 09:03

Congratulations @HaichMal and @Girlinajumpsuit!

@Magpiefeather my DD is two this month, her behaviour has definitely changed. I am putting a lot of it down to the impending arrival (I think girls can be prone to being more sensitive than boys?). However since we've no family nearby we won't both be leaving her for the birth and I'm going to birth alone, DH will just have to drive me to hospital (hopefully not in the middle of the night as we'll have to wake her and get her in the car 🙈). I am worried about her seeing me in labour as she can get upset seeing us in pain - it's one of the reasons I wouldn't homebirth. And I dont want her associating mummy in pain with new baby. Last night she woke up just for a daddy cuddle for the first time ever so she must be anxious. No advice at all but I know what you mean!

I'm 40+4; only sign of impending labour is that I'm pregnant 😧 all cramps, niggles, BH, contraction sessions, discharge stopped. Get a bit tired at 5pm is all. It's a 42 weeker...

Mj2196 · 10/06/2020 09:14

Thanks ladies Ive had an iron transfusion now and slowing getting there with mobility . I had a look at my scar for the first time today have to say I’m so surprised how neat it is 🙈
Breastfeeding is a little painful atm we’re just waiting on our appointment to get Jamie’s tongue tie snipped . But loving every moment still 💙

So many babies now ! Congrats and good luck to those still waiting !

Blizy · 10/06/2020 09:28

Congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit and @HaichMal!

@BabyBird20 I hope your baby is in your arms very soon!

I'm hoping to be snuggling my little one this time tomorrow!

Gigitree · 10/06/2020 09:34

I’m with you there @UKtoSK with the added pressure of worrying about giving birth to a 10lb baby 🙈

Due June 2020 thread 8: The one where all the babies appear!
Zoey92 · 10/06/2020 09:50

Congratulations on all the new arrivals 💖💙 i thought madam was making her appearance early hours this morning, nipped to loo & pain i got was definitely not one I've had before, i couldn't get up 🙈 after about 2minutes it went. Had nothing since 🤷‍♀️
Had back ache alot yesterday too.

Sweep tomorrow so hopefully give her extra encouragement to make her arrival.

Busylizzie85 · 10/06/2020 10:14

My sweeps not done anything I don't think, I did have a few twinges yesterday and a couple today which made me need to go to the loo but I haven't lost my plug or any other signs. I guess she's staying in till I get induced Friday!

40+5

Magpie21 · 10/06/2020 10:21

So much action on the chat this morning! Congratulations to the new mummies!

I feel really behind everyone now 😅 38+4, no major twinges and FTM so I think I am definitely going to be here until the bitter end of June! I had a lovely midwife appointment yesterday, which was much needed to be my mind at rest about the birthing process. I was told il be offered a sweep at 40 weeks and an induction at 41+5 (which would be July!).

I'm so happy to read everyone's birth stories.
