@Busylizzie85 I hope you're ok. xx

HaichMal · 09/06/2020 12:10

@Busylizzie85 hope all is well and at least you will be in the right place.

Sounds like things may be starting for a few of us.

I've just had my sweep and boy am I uncomfortable right now! The sweep itself wasn't too bad as long as you breathe and try and relax, though it probably didn't help that I think I had a BH or baby starting moving just at the uncomfortable moment. I was uncomfy beforehand anyway as I've just had this really strong pressure pushing downwards all morning, as well as some of my strong, contraction-like BH. DH is sorting lunch for us and I've warned him he's probably going to have to put the toddler to bed etc. For now, I've had some paracetamol and am sat with a hot water bottle.

BirdGarden · 09/06/2020 12:19

@Busylizzie85 hope you're ok, like others have said they've found it and you're in the right place

Good luck to all those with things kicking off - bit jealous to be honest!

40+3

Thank you for the messages! The signal in the hospital and WiFi is rubbish!!
So they monitored me and took my blood pressure and pulse every 15 mins and also did some bloods, it did go done slightly but not a great deal.
They decided to do a scan and get the doctor to look at the swelling. After much deliberation they decided baby was head down still and not laying across which is what they thought earlier today.
They have given me a sweep but it sounded like my cervix was still long so I'm not holding out much hope and booked me for an induction on Friday at 41 weeks as the risk of me developing preeclampsia is high.
So fingers crossed at some point at the weekend I'll finally have a baby I can hold 😊

There's a lot of activity on the thread today! So exciting!

@Missgemini it is super expensive isn't it? And not convinced I want to spend that money with the mixed reviews. Sounds so ideal though!

BabyBird20 · 09/06/2020 15:51

Just to add to the updates! I'm still here... second gel failed so not much happening at all, they now want to move me to delivery suite, break my waters and stick me on the drip! Eek! The bit I wanted to avoid!! Going to ask for an epidural and hopefully little boy will make an appearance before too much longer!!

Missgemini · 09/06/2020 16:08

@BabyBird20 aww that's so annoying! But hopefully baby will be here soon once the drip is running.

Just had my second sweep. Taking deep breaths made it manageable. Still having cramps, but nothing more. Midwife said I was 2cm. Not quite in labour yet.
Induction on sunday with cooks balloon if nothing happens between now and then.

@BabyBird20 hoping for a 9th June baby for you! You are so close now ☺️ xx

Cb31 · 09/06/2020 17:28

@BabyBird20 fingers crossed baby is here soon!

I'm at the hospital now being monitored before they do the first gel. Husband can be here till 8pm so I've got some company at least. Feeling a bit apprehensive about the whole process but I'm sure it will be fine. It's just completely unknown.

goldenT · 09/06/2020 17:40

So I woke up this morning with lower back ache and some tightening across my stomach, had the back ache on and off throughout the day and now it's gone completely was hoping this was the start as I'm 38+5

Gigitree · 09/06/2020 18:01

Good luck @BabyBird20 and @Cb31 hope things progress well for each of you ♥️

@goldenT it might still be the beginning of things, sometimes it seems like they build up quite slowly with some stop/starts

AndddddHerewegoagain · 09/06/2020 18:06

@BabyBird20 i had my little girl in my arms 90 mins after they broke my waters so hoping its quick for you as well!

goldenT · 09/06/2020 18:15

@Gigitree oh I hope so, back ache seem to gone but I have like a pulsating feeling going on down below so as long as things are moving I'm good with that

Chels2 · 09/06/2020 18:27

Hi ladies,

Ive been part of the thread but dont post much even though im on looking about 10 times a day 😂!

At my 38wk midwife appt today i got sent to mat assesment for reduced movements, after being on the trace They decided to scan me which resulted in the babys stomach measuring 44weeks!! 30mins later i was given a sweep & sent home to get my things & back in at 8pm tonight to be induced! I am terrified! This is my 3rd baby but ive went naturally both times & before my due date! Someone tell me a positive induction story please 😂🤞🏼

BabyBird20 · 09/06/2020 19:20

Thanks all! Spent all day in the queue to get down to delivery suite to have waters broken but they're having a busy day! @AndddddHerewegoagain I hope I'm as quick as that!! Were you already in labour when they broke your waters? I'm not even contracting any more!
@Cb31 wishing you lots of luck! I hope your body responds more to the process than mine! I'm sure it will!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

goldenT · 09/06/2020 19:23

@Chels2 sorry no help regarding an induction but wanted to wish you well and I'm sure someone will be along on here with positive story's

AndddddHerewegoagain · 09/06/2020 19:53

@babybird20 no nothing before they broke my waters. Started contracting within 10 mins of them breaking my waters and it escalated from there. If you canonce they've broken your waters walk around as that definitely got things going quicker!

Good luck!

@chels2 my induction story is as above. The only bit to add to it was they put the pessary in Saturday 1pm. It fell out with my mucus plug sunday at 12pm and I was 2cm dialated at that point so they took me down to break my waters. I was induced at 40+4 as i had gestational diabetes. This was my second baby. Good luck to you as well!!

Pegase · 09/06/2020 20:32

@BabyBird20 definitely order that epidural! Good luck!

@LillianFullStop I heard the Evie leaks a lot so didn't go for it in end. Do you have a hands free pumping bra though? Found that a lifesaver last time. Once you are on a lighter home pump rather than big hospital pump, it does increase your mobility a little bit!

Chels2 · 09/06/2020 20:53

Thanks everyone! Had 2sweeps today & 1st pessary has just been put in im 1-2cm just now so just a waiting game 🙈 x

sarahlounich · 09/06/2020 21:04

@Chels2 eek hope all goes well!

@babybird20 hope they get you on your way soon.

I'm in at 8am tomorrow for the pessary and then get to come home. Not sure how much I'll sleep tonight....nervous and excited. Had positives last week at both my sweeps that my cervix was favourable so really hoping the pessary tips me over the edge. The drip is something I'd love to avoid but obviously know it may be necessary. Exciting few days with a number of babies due 🥰

chocolate26 · 09/06/2020 22:10

@BabyBird20 glad to hear you are being moved to delivery suite! Good luck, hopefully it doesn't take too long now. How weird that we are being induced for the same reasons 😊 how have you found being there by yourself without your OH? I think that's the part I'm most nervous about! Have you been able to leave your room at all?

@Chels2 good luck! I'm going in for my induction on Saturday, very nervous but also excited to meet baby.

Girlinajumpsuit · 10/06/2020 00:21

@chels2 I've just had a successful induction of sorts... had the balloon fitted yesterday evening, cervix reacted very favourably (I was 40+6) and my baby was in my arms by 11am this morning - a gorgeous baby boy, Theo, weighing 6 pounds.

The induction did not go to plan at all, BUT it was not a dreadful experience, I managed to remain calm and the hospital were great. I had a huge bleed as a result of the balloon catheter so they had to take out and break my waters immediately, after only 12 hours. They then discovered the baby had passed a lot of meconium in the womb and was getting distressed with every contraction..all of a sudden I was wheeled in for an emcs. This had been one of my worst case scenarios but it was actually fine, the c section was good and amazing to meet baby so fast. So even if things dont go to plan it doesnt mean you will have a bad experience Smile x

Missgemini · 10/06/2020 00:32

@girlinajumpsuit congratulations on your baby :) Good to know you still view the experience as positive despite the unexpected things that happened. I hope you're enjoying the cuddles :)

Busylizzie85 · 10/06/2020 03:59

Congratulations @Girlinajumpsuit I hope your recovering well and enjoying all the baby cuddles!
