After bleeding fresh red blood this morning and stomach cramls, they sent me for a scan. Baby was a wriggler and wouldn't keep still so the best photo we could get is of it upside down πŸ˜… baby is measuring a couple of days ahead too so I'm 11+3 x

@Aimy1 I'm so glad everything is ok, that must have been scary!

Skyla01 · 09/07/2020 14:24

@Aimy1 sorry you still have bleeding, can they see a reason for it? At least the scan is reassuring and will help with the wait to next week!

@sachaf08 yeah I'm really looking forward to it. Haven't seen folk since March either. I'm hoping my mum will do the extended family phone around for me!

Aimy1 · 12/07/2020 14:40

Ladies, constipation! Is anyone else suffering? I am normally very regular at going but I havent gone properly for a week now. Any help, advice, tips. I feel like I've tried everything

Skyla01 · 12/07/2020 17:37

@Aimy1 oh no that doesn't sound good at all! I haven't had that problem but I've heard it's very common in pregnancy. There's lots you can try- drink lots of water, eat lots of fruit & high fibre food. Prunes are meant to be good! Get moving with some exercise. Also they are many types of laxatives but better check with pharmacist what is ok in pregnancy.

I'm been having a good day today- the best I've felt since about week 6. Just hope it lasts but not going to get my hopes up too much! Been having so called "round ligament" pain on and off today. I'm sure it's just my uterus growing but the discomfort always makes me a bit anxious.

How is everyone else?

Aimy1 · 15/07/2020 16:32

Got a great scan picture today. Took 3 attempts to try and get the baby to keep still including emptying my bladder and having a 15 min walk. Alls good. I am now undecided on my maternity leave. I am think of leaving at 29 weeks. So I can spend as much time witb my other children as I can and to have some me time to prepare and to minimise the chance of me getting pnd again. I've also got to have growth scans after 30 weeks because my daughter was slightly small. So leaving work early means I don't have to keep booking time off which my boss wouldn't like as working in a childminders, its hard to get cover.

Skyla01 · 16/07/2020 08:16

@Aimy1 lovely photo, glad everything is well with your scan! Your plan sounds sensible, and it helps you have experience to guide you. I was thinking of stopping at 36 weeks, my last week or two could be over Xmas holidays so would only be in a few days, not the whole week. I'll try and save up a bit of annual leave too. However never been pregnant before so will just have to see how it goes! I'm hoping to have saved some more money by then so if I want to take mat leave earlier I don't need to worry so much about money.

Aimy1 · 16/07/2020 08:29

@Skyla01 I'm currently on furlough so the difference between that and maternity isn't much at all. Im also planning on not returning to work and setting up something for myself so will in essence loose some of maternity if I don't start early. I just don't want people thinking I'm stupid going so early. With my son, I was at college and was on placement in a nursery until 2 weeks before I had him. With my daughter I finished at 36 weeks but had her at 38 weeks so only had 2 weeks off and it didn't seem like long enough at all. X

sachaf08 · 16/07/2020 14:29

Hi ladies! I'm having a bit of a stress today. I was having random throbbing pains in my left leg last night so I had a look and behind my left knee it looks a tiny bit swollen and veiny compared to the other leg.

I phoned the Maternity advice line and the midwife was basically like 'it's probably a blood clot' which obviously terrified me, but thankfully I've managed to get a GP to see me at 430. I know it's better safe than sorry but I would feel an absolute idiot going to A and E with a very slightly swollen leg

Does anyone have any experience of anything like this? I'm on 150mg of aspirin because of high blood pressure, so I kind of hoped that would prevent blood clots. On the other hand, my sickness is still awful so I've definitely not been moving around as much as normal.

Hope you're all well and not having as much of a meltdown as I am πŸ˜…

OrangeJ · 16/07/2020 18:26

Hi everyone. Had my 12 week nhs scan today. All was good but baby was very sleep today compared to our private scan last Monday! EDD 26/01 ☺️

Any gender guesses? I was swatting up on nub theory but I don’t see one in my pics πŸ˜…

Oh gosh @sachaf08 that’s kind of casual for the midwife to say it like that! Hope your go appointment went ok?

I’m feeling good, but had a very random sickness again this morning. Think I got a bit hot blow drying my hair lol. Also wondering how much longer I can get away with having naps for in the afternoon. DH has started listening to audio books about pregnancy and knows I should be feeling more energetic soon and also trying to force feed me veg and exercise. Should never have encouraged him to listen to a book πŸ˜‚

sachaf08 · 16/07/2020 18:56

@OrangeJ so glad your scan went well! I tend to vom randomly as well after I exert myself a bit. I'm at the hospital now as GP wasn't comfortable to rule out a blood clot, they've done an ECG and all sorts 😱 I'm just waiting to see the doctor. Hopefully it's just all a fuss over nothing!

OrangeJ · 16/07/2020 20:27

Oh crikey @sachaf08. Hopefully it’s nothing but good that they’re being thorough.

Hope you’re not in there too long! X

Skyla01 · 17/07/2020 08:09

@OrangeJ glad the scan went well! Are you telling people now? We told all the family last weekend, it was lovely news to spring on everyone! I still get a bit sick at times and although I do feel better still not 100%. So even though I'd love to be running around like normal I still take it easy when I need to. I hope your OH is looking after you too!

@sachaf08 oh no, how stressful. I think you'll need a Doppler ultrasound to look for a clot? Not sure why they have bothered with all the other stuff... hope all is ok now x

sachaf08 · 17/07/2020 08:43

Argh ladies I had an absolutely ridiculous night last night. @OrangeJ they didn't keep me in in the end. They still think it could be a blood clot at the hospital but it was too late in the day to get me an ultrasound, so I was sent away to a late night pharmacy with a fragmin injection prescription and instructions to inject last night and again this morning before the scan in the afternoon.

Went to 3 pharmacies and all 3 said they'd never heard of it coming in the dosage that was written down, so went back to hospital and the consultant apologised and rewrote it.

Back to the pharmacies and they still didn't have it πŸ€¦πŸ˜… as it turns out it's not something they routinely have anyway, so back to the hospital for a THIRD time where I basically had a meltdown and started crying (damn hormones) and a nurse told me I should have been given the injection at the hospital in the first place ( and also taught how to do it). So they eventually did it for me after 3 hours of travelling round all the pharmacies in town and also a lengthy call to 111 who couldn't do anything.

Still don't know if I actually have a blood clot although the nurse who looked at my legs seemed to think I probably do, hence why I was so stressed about getting the injection! I'll find out this afternoon anyway 😬

@Skyla01 so glad you're feeling better!

Skyla01 · 17/07/2020 11:59

@sachaf08 that sounds like a right ball's up. No idea why they didn't just give you the injection in the first place. I guess you will be at risk for a dvt if you've been ill and not moving much and maybe dehydrated too? Hope you can get it all sorted out later today.

sachaf08 · 17/07/2020 18:28

@Skyla01 thank you, it's all fine, no clot thank goodness. I had to endure a really cringe grovelling apology from the consultant as well. No harm no foul I guess πŸ˜„

Skyla01 · 18/07/2020 08:27

@sachaf08 really glad to hear it, but sounds like a lot to go through! Hope you get no more trouble. How is your sickness?

How is everyone else? I'm enjoying having a tiny bump, makes it feel real! Trying to remember to do kegel exercises too. I have an app but only remember about once a week. Is anyone else doing them?

OrangeJ · 18/07/2020 12:40

@sachaf08 that’s a relief but you must have been exhausted after all that running around!

@Skyla01 we’re telling our parents tomorrow ☺️ Quite excited about it but MIL had some problems conceiving and she gets very uneasy and upset when people announce pregnancies so we’ll see how that goes.

Had our letter today with results to say Downs, Patau and Edwards risk is 1 in 10,000 so really relieved with that and so quick! Wasn’t expecting that for a couple of weeks.

Aaaw you have a little bump ☺️ I feel like I have a bulge but wasn’t sure if it was all the cheesy Doritos 🀭 although scales say I’ve only gained just under 2lbs so far.

Is anyone taking any multivitamins? I’m on the fence as I’ve read some places they are a bit unnecessary. My midwife said Vit D is all they really recommend unless you have a bad diet. My diet isn’t the greatest at the moment but also not terrible πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

OrangeJ · 18/07/2020 13:13

Oh yeah kegel exercises. I started doing as soon as I found out I was pregnant but haven’t done any for weeks now.

I have a good app called Baby2Body that gives you exercises to follow for a time you choose and also gives you a new workout each week for your stage of pregnancy.

Skyla01 · 18/07/2020 18:36

@OrangeJ I'm sure it will all go well and they'll all be very excited. We were visiting in laws etc today and everyone is excited for a new baby! I'm taking pregnacare- I got some early on because I was not eating much. Will stop it once the packet is finished. I have free vits from the midwife for after that (vit D, c, and folic acid). I'm in Scotland though, I think all mum's get them free. My actual baby bump is very small and low down. Much bigger and higher up is bloat! It's ok in the morning but I feel huge by early evening. I haven't put on any weight yet which is a bit surprising as my waistline is certainly a bit bigger. I'm expecting weight gain to start soon. The last few weeks I've been back to normal eating so I'm sure it'll start soon.

Skyla01 · 20/07/2020 18:21

Omg just noticed loads of tiny stretch marks over my belly already.... I'm only 13+5. What will I be like by week 40?!

OrangeJ · 22/07/2020 08:36

@Skyla01 oh that is quite early! Some people don’t even get them til after the birth! Are they still there now? I know I’m going to be very decorated (what I’m calling it!) as my mum is very stripey and I know it’s genetic. It’s not going to stop me trying to keep them at bay though and will probably give the Secret Saviours band a go when I start showing more. I do keep looking on Instagram at beautiful women who embrace their stretch marks and think they look amazing!

As time is creeping on, is anyone thinking of find out the sex? We are going to as my OH would quite like a boy (although of course would be happy with a girl) and we said if he finds out now he has time to prepare πŸ˜† also I like the idea of bonding a bit more by calling it a β€œhe”/β€œshe” rather than β€œit”. Our friends are VERY opinionated though that it ruins the β€œsurprise”. I think anyone can do whatever they like but we’re going to tell them we’re not finding out so they don’t judge us πŸ™„πŸ™Š

Aimy1 · 22/07/2020 08:45

@OrangeJ I found out the sex with both my other children. I wanted to buy colours and have everything ready not just a simple neutral colour. We are finding out this time aswell but are going to do a gender reveal with canons as we think my daughter would love that. Im booking a private scan for around 17 weeks to find out and so my partner can come and see aswell. I personally couldn't wait 9 months without knowing the sex.

My sickness seems to be wearing off a little, although I have now started gagging a lot and actually being sick when I do gag but that comes and goes not a constant sick feeling like the first 12 weeks. X

Aimy1 · 22/07/2020 08:48

@OrangeJ guessing the sex, i would say boy. When we found out we were having a girl, she showed us 3 little white lines where privates are and that means girl and boy is a nub. I cant see 3 lines there and sure I can see a little nub but that could be something completely different πŸ˜‚.

Aimy1 · 22/07/2020 08:50

This is my daughters scan. Not sure if you can see the 3 lines.
