Egg · 20/09/2007 20:04

At least this is a relatively new thread so not too much to read to catch up on. You could always go back to the last one and read the 1000 posts on there .

My name used to be BigCookLittleCook, which was crap, but it was DS's fave prog, then at Easter I changed it to BigEggLittleEgg temporarily, but never changed back, and then dropped the BigEgg bit so was just LittleEgg. I wanted to be just Egg, liked the sound of it, but had to buy it in the MN auction as it had already been registered. I am finally happy with my name.

Sorry, bet you wish you never asked now .

Oscar is a lovely name. Congrats on your boy. You must be very relieved to be so far on in your pg after your mc.

PrincessLlama don't worry, we will be jealous of you when we haven't slept for a week / month and your baby is still safely sleeping and kicking in your tummy when Feb comes along.

Think I need to log off now. It's very LATE and my MIL is coming tomorrow and I still haven't tidied.

Egg · 20/09/2007 20:05

iampgatlast - did you see on the list that five of us are expecting twins? Surely a record for any ante natal group on here!!!

gingermumi · 20/09/2007 20:25

Gosh... so much going on on feb thread! I hardly ever get time to read it at the mo, work is soooo busy and dh still incapacitated - saw his consultant yesterday and he wont be off crutches or driving for weeks. I find it quite hard keeping up with everything so housework and gardening have fallen by the wayside! dd2 tries to help but she is at college now so has less time.

I enjoyed all the names and buggy-hunting stuff, am glad i'm not the only one looking. have to say, a six gap and everything's changed...imagine how i feel - it's 16 years since i went buggy hunting! I had a maclaren thing last time with a carry cot on the top, got it from argos - now there's so much choice i don't know where to start! We've also started thing about names and were so convinced we were having a girl had decided on daisy or poppy ( i wanted daisy, dh, poppy - i think it would have been a delivery room battle!) - now we know it's a boy it's totally thrown us - bought a book today and have started reading through - have realised that all the good names have already been taken or we've given them to pets! (we've had a lot of hamsters over the years!). i quite like Alfie but our rabbit is called that! Think i'll have to start making a list of possibles and move on from there.

Welcome Iampgatlast and glad everyone doing ok. On risks etc. friend of a friend has a high risk factor, totally freaked out and had lots of extra tests and all is fine, remember even high risks actually come out at a tiny perenctage - the stats sound so much worse when it's 'one in...' rather than a percent.

Take everyone, hope this is the right thread! will try to keep up a bit more.

gingermumi · 20/09/2007 20:28

Oscar's a cool name but next door's cat is called that - they'll think we're mad! See, i'm surrounded by cool names and there all taken! !

3madboys · 20/09/2007 20:31

my ds2 is called Oscar, Oscar Reuben actually, its a fab name :D :D

becoming more popular tho, which always bugs me, but he is still the only one in his school

Amy78 · 21/09/2007 08:09

Glad to hear all the good news about flavours!! Hope everyone is keeping well. Gingermumi I know what you mean about names. DH and I have always loved the name Molly for a girl but unfortunately my mum got a new kitten at the start of the year and called it Molly! If we end up having a girl I don't really know if they'd appreciate being named after Granny's cat .

Is anyone else having 'slight' disagreements about names? DH and I can't seem to agree on any names other than those already taken (as in cats and friends kids) Oops

leesmum · 21/09/2007 08:33

Good morning everyone, gosh ive got some catching up to do!!

It was dads funeral yesterday and even though it was hard it was a nice day
I came home at 5.00pm with Ds and left them all too it!!Luckily a friend had ds for us so we could go to church and crematorium. He's too young to understand and in a way im glad, i cant imagine having to explain it all to him.

Firstly Samsmam how are you doing?I am thinking of you and hoping you are getting lots of help and support, and you can always come on here to get stuff of your chest. No one will mind, you need to do whatever you want to. xx

Miniandme and Egg Great news that you each have Boy and Girl and that they are nice and healthy

Lucyand2 a little girl,lovely.

lljkk,Alkar,Jo9977 and Iampgatlast great news about your boys.

Hi Ladysanders,BristolRabbit and Iampgatlast welcome to feb thread, and 3madboys i know you have probably got close to the march thread by now but you are very welcome here.

I hope i havent missed anyone out, thats what happens when you don't post for a while.

Take care ladies xx

Lucyand2 · 21/09/2007 08:52

Congrats on all the scan results - there are so many boys! I think I may need help with girls names though, we're trying to come up with names that sound good with DD's name and so far we've got stuck at Isabel.

I didn't feel movement with DD until about 19 weeks and they were quite faint as my placenta was at the front. It's at the back this time so I've felt things much earlier, I don't know if this makes much of a difference.

My bump is already stupidly big, I'm quite small so it looks larger than it is. In the park last week an old woman was asking me how old Dd was. I explained she was about a year and a half, to which she replied her grandchildren had the same age gap whilst pointing at my bump. I didn't dare say I'm only halfway through....

I am waking up with pain in the front of my pelvis though, not sure if this is anything to be concerned about. I already sleep with a pillow tucked between my knees and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do for my pelvis. Hmm.

mymissus · 21/09/2007 09:01

Hi KikiH, I am just over 18 weeks with my first baby too - due Feb21st. I am not entirely sure that I have felt anything yet either. There have been 2 occasions where I thought maybe I had, but really not certain! especially as at my 16 week midwife appt, whilst listening to the baby's heartbeat there was a loud noise that my midwife said was the sound of the baby flipping over!! but I totaly didn't feel a thing at the time!! I'm hoping to feel something soon though!! feel a bit like I'm missing out - or not paying enough attention! but my sisters tell me I should enjoy the peace whilst it lasts - coz once they start kicking you notice it all the time, and you end up spending AGES staring at your tummy waiting to see it move etc!! tee hee hee!

Egg · 21/09/2007 13:29

Must be honest, I do love feeling movements, it is fab and so heartwarming and reassuring, but last night DS was coughing a lot so kept waking me up, and then I could never get back to sleep because apparently night time is disco time for Nemo and Dory...

nlsrhtr · 21/09/2007 13:36

Hi
I thought I'd introduce myself, since I'm enjoying this site so much (maybe too much?).
I am 45 and expecting my third (a girl) on Feb 20. My DS is 14 and DD is 13.
I live in Virginia in the US.
I am in good health and walk for exercise; no problems so far (keeping fingers crossed).
We are waiting for amnio test results (procedure done on the 12th).

I am a stay-at-home mom, make quilts, enjoy cooking, whack the weeds when needed; generally rotate through the usual activities. And read/watch too much Jane Austen.

Good luck to everyone.

Hello nlsrhtr! What part of Virginia are you in? I stayed in Virginia Beach for three months when I was younger and loved it. Met some lovely Virginian men too! My sis is married to one!

KikiH · 21/09/2007 14:16

Thanks for the reasurrance Gill and bovrilsarnies. Nice to hear from someone only a day ahead of me that they haven't felt anything yet either - what is it about being pregnant that makes you so paranoid about everything?

excitedm2b · 21/09/2007 14:29

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie too. 1st pregnancy, due 18th Feb so 18+4 I think. 21 wk scan on 12th October and can't wait! Not going to find out the flavour though as not fussed and would rather have a surprise (although dh is convinced that it is a boy!)

Hadn't felt anything either till this week when I'm pretty sure I have felt the baby move a couple of times Everyone seems to be different though so am sure Kiki you will too soon!

Wow- this thread just keeps growing. We must have one of the longest lists. All busy around the same time in May/June!

Had my hair done today thought it may make me feel better but it took four hours and now I'm even more stressed than when I started out. They never told me it would be a trainee so I complained and got 50% discount. Makes up for the £45 I spent on maternity jeans the other day!

Thanks for all your support it means a lot to have people that I can turn to.

On the name front the boys name we are set on George David but as for the girls we have no agreement! I love Sophie and I think I should choose this time as he chose Samantha. Apparently naming all your children with S's is supposed to be lucky.

violeta · 21/09/2007 16:20

Hi samsmam,

Just to say that Sophie or the Spanish Sofia is on our list as well! I think that they're both really pretty, feminine names.

beansprout · 21/09/2007 16:21

Hi everyone

Leesmum - have been thinking of you. Glad it went ok yesterday and hope you are alright. Big hug to you

Had my scan this morning. Baby is ok but have to have another one at 36 weeks, as they want to keep an eye on the size as ds was so big (10lb 5oz). If this one is as big again (or bigger ) they are recommending a c-section as I had one last time and they think size was a factor. Was at a different hospital so they didn't have the birth notes so this could change, but is unlikely to.

Still happy for me to go for a VBAC if I want to but equally fine if I want to opt for a c-section at any point. Fair enough.

Hi to everyone else!

Jo9977 · 21/09/2007 16:31

Hi to everyone new! It's fab having so many on this thread!

Thinking of you samsmam - hang in there!

And glad it went ok yesterday Leesmum, hold on to all the good memories.

I'm also impressed with how you managed to put a personal note in for so many people

Names on our shortlist are Andrew, Simon, Michael and Peter although think Peter is coming off.

Have a great weekend everyone!

MERLYPUSS · 21/09/2007 18:36

Had a scan today. Both really wriggly and she said they were the correct weight for singletons. EEEKKK !! And I thought I wasn't looking that large (seeing as they will be 19 weeks, half-cooked on Monday.) Apparently it's coz I'm 5'10''
Havent found out hte flavour but all looks ok at the mo. Off to Kings the week after next for a foetal caridiac scan as my epi drugs can have an effect on the twinnies. Feeling quite positive present. Still on the quest for the perfect buggy. Anyone know how small the nipper closes? Does it just flap in half or squish like an umberella ?
