Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Gill79 · 19/09/2007 11:32

Whereabouts in N London are you Voileta? Going to the Homerton? My bump popped out about 16 weeks and I was suddenly feeling huge but seems to have slowed down thank goodness.

Gill79 · 19/09/2007 11:37

Sorry - VIOleta!

Bessie123 · 19/09/2007 11:47

oooh, I know one of the baby docs at the homerton. she is a fab lady.

3madboys · 19/09/2007 11:48

just a quick hello, i am actually on the march thread as my origional due date was the 5th march, but they have changed it to the 29th feb

i am expecting no 4, already have three boys aged 8, 5 and 2, i noticed one of you was in norfolk? i am in norfolk to, well norwich actually

anyway i may dip in and out, i was wondering about bumps, i read some of you popped out at 16wks? i am just 17wks and no sign of a bump at all, but i was similar with the boys so i guess its normal for me

we are currently having the find out the sex debate? we didnt with the other 3, purely because dp didnt want to, this time i think it should be my decision, he has had his way not bothered what we have as long as its healthy and if i hear one more time about how i must want a girl etc, i may go slightly mad........

Gill79 · 19/09/2007 11:58

we actually forgot to discuss if we wanted to find out the sex! When the sonographer asked we just looked panicked and blank. Took the view that it's better to not find out if you're not sure - you'll still get the surprise at some point and you don't run the risk of finding out and regretting it. Actually have another scan booked for 32 weeks since the placenta is low so can always find out then if I'm desperate.

Who's the doc at the Homerton Bessie? Have not been told who my doctor is (if I've got one....) just see a different midwife each time

violeta · 19/09/2007 12:03

Welcome to 3madboys!

Gill: I'm in Tufnell Park, and going to the Whittington (conveniently just up the road!). It's all been fine so far but I want to go on a tour of the labour wards and so on at some point. Where are you?

Gill79 · 19/09/2007 12:06

Stoke Newington (Hackney) - and have absolutely no idea where Tufnell Park is! That's the thing with London I suppose......

lljkk · 19/09/2007 12:07

You're living close to me, 3madboys. It's good you don't mind about the sex, I was bummed about my No. 4 being a boy, but I've moved onto other worries, now.

Coping it's just all those bad moments I already have because I have 3 little squawking self-centered birds already on at me, don't know how I'll take to having a 4th!! Blew up at DD this morning she WAS being a pain, but I over-reacted, sigh.

I have been extra-scatty lately and was struggling to find my wallet at the time. DH in charge of DC yesterday so I came home to find the house an utter tip - still hiding my head in sand about it, at least 3yo is in preschool until 2:30. Will finish this moan then climb the mountain of washing up -- and I was feeling diabolical last night (Sickness still returns some days).

I have decided to stop hosting playdates for the next 4 years (no, am not kidding). I struggle to keep an eye on my own 3 as it is, they squabble a huge amount.

I know people cope with worse, but they're not me, I'm not really that competent.

3madboys · 19/09/2007 12:15

well if you ever want to meet up and go mad together lljk then my email is on profile

it is hard work with 3 and my partner works shifts, so i often have to do the whole, dinner, bedtime routine on my own, its a pita trying to cook with a whingey toddler and the other 2 fighting and then getting them all in bed is a complete nightmare, by the time i have managed it i just want to collapse in a heap, only i have to do the washing up, sort the laundry, tidy kitchen, make pack lunches etc, its never ending.

if we could afford it (and we are looking into working out how) then i would hire a cleaner to come in once a week, hoover, mop floor, clean bathroom etc, it would make such a difference.

i am generally not feeling sick at the moment, it stopped at about 15wks, but still returns in the late afternoons and evenings if i get too tired etc.

thankyou for the welcomes

as for your car dilema i am not sure, we used to have a mitsubishi space wagon which had two seats in the back, but they were a bit cramped and i worried about accidents, ie if someone drove into the back etc, there isnt much crumple zone before they would squahs the kids? it was written off anyway by vandals and we now have a volkswagon sharron, which has 7 proper seats and still has a bit of a boot for pushchair etc.

pobletsmum · 19/09/2007 14:38

Hi everyone,

Sorry for worrying you all. Everything is fine!

I didn't sleep much sunday night. Rang midwife 1st thing monday morning, and she said that any of my symptoms ('pink loss', lack of movements, loads of Braxton Hicks contractions, low belly pains, lack of heartburn & sickness etc.) would be fine on their own, but the combination meant that she wanted to see me asap. I spent the morning in tears on and off at work, but saw the midwife at lunchtime. She found the heartbeat and we could hear the baby kicking too! It was such a relief, I cried again!

Today I've been feeling movements again, which is a huge relief, plus I'm back to nausea - something I didn't miss for the last few days!!! I'm really looking forward to my scan though - I think it will put my mind at ease properly. If I have any more pink discharge I've got to see the midwfe again, but otherwise everything is as normal.

I'm sorry for not getting on here to update sooner. After all the worry I was asleep before DS on monday night and had a hectic day at work yesterday too. My internet has been playing up so that's made things more complicated as well, but hopefully I'm back on track now.

Sorry to hear about those of you having amnio/scan worries. I can't really add any more, but will be thinking of you.

Welcome to the new ladies!

alkar · 19/09/2007 15:29

Pobletsmum so pleased all is ok. Was really worried.

Catch up later, just wanted to let you all know.

samsmam · 20/09/2007 07:54

Hi all, I've been really bad with this thread. Time seems to take over life when you have an 11 month old that has just started walking.

Been diagnosed as suffering PND again so life has been a bit up and down, but hoepfully I'll get there.

Congrats on all the scans and flavour finding. One of each twin flavour is going to be great.

I had my first antenatal appointment and have been warned that I'll prob have to have a c-section due to placenta completely covering os at present. Hopefully it will move. Bit off putting as it is plastered all over my notes over and over.

I am going to try and keep up and join in appropriately. My occassional posting seems to get lost!

Have a good day all x

Egg · 20/09/2007 08:35

Morning samsmam, so sorry about PND, must be doubly hard to cope with it when PG, esp when you are told you will prob get a c-section that you don't want. At least you will be in good company, there are a few on here already, and although I will do everything in my power to get a natural delivery it may not happen with twins. Hopefully we can cheer you up on here so don't stay away!

My DS has conjunctivitis and a cold and cough, and I am still taking him to nursery this morning as they said as long as it is being treated he is ok to go, and he seems quite happy now that I have de-gunked him, and to be honest I just want the morning FREE to get on with a few things. He was supposed to be there half an hour ago though and we are still in pj's .

Jo9977 · 20/09/2007 09:45

Fab news Egg!!

Soz to hear about PND samsmam - are you getting enough support? Thinking of you...

I'm at work and absolutely useless (nothing new there then!!) - off in an hour...yep, gonna try and find out the flavour - would love a girl but much more concerned things are ok!

Can't keep up with all the news - anyone else got a scan today or tomorrow????

Egg · 20/09/2007 10:10

Ahhh best of luck Jo. I had been obsessing about gender, but when it got to a few hours before the scan I was suddenly really terrified something would be wrong. They did spend ages looking at Dory's heart, as they thought they saw a small hole, but it was just shadow and everything was fine (small hole apparently not really bad anyway as they tend to close themselves).

Fingers crossed for you, looking forward to hearing good news later on. I have also lost track, and have failed to wish most people good luck this week.

Just popped back to other "new" Feb thread and seen that wahidc added herself in and was having scan on Tuesday, so hope she finds her way over here and that everything is ok, have copied and pasted list again putting her in, and also updated myself again. Also remember Beany has scan tomorrow I think, oh and look, so does Merlypuss!

K27 · 20/09/2007 10:11

Hello fellow Feb-to-be threads.
I am due 13th Feb with my first baby.

Just a quick question, how many of you guys felt their babies first move and when please? (I know it all depends, but was just trying to get someone due around the same time as me to compare it to)
Have not felt a thing yet.
Cheers
KTx

Egg · 20/09/2007 10:14

Hi K27. I felt the twins move at about 16 weeks, but a lot of people have not felt anything yet and I think 18-22 weeks is normal to feel first movements, esp with your first, so you are completely normal (well in this respect anyway ).

With DS, who was my first, it was 17.5 weeks but again that was earlier than some of my friends. I feel one baby a lot more than the other and it turns out that Dory has an anterior placenta, meaning the placenta is facing outwards towards my belly button, so it takes away some of the feeling, if that makes any sense, as the placenta gets kicked, rather than my tummy [confusing myself emoticon needed here...].
