@helpasisterout that's annoying! Sending you good vibes, hope the assessment is quick and easy and things move on. What a day you must have had, stay strong with the end goal in mind! ❤️

helpasisterout · 27/05/2020 21:01

@woollycat ugh poor you wish these babies would have just come by themselves save the intervention. I'm just getting a trace before examination not thrilled with the nature of the staff thus far but focusing on your point of keeping end goal in mind 🥺

Lady7978 · 27/05/2020 22:45

@woollycat and @helpasisterout it's a shame really that it seems midwives will rather push for what they think is right without listening at the very least or explaining their reasoning. I do understand that they have the experience, but at the end of the day, it's our bodies and what we feel. It can be difficult I guess trying to find that balance.
Hopefully things get cracking before the induction...

@Moongirl10 good luck for tomorrow. Do you have a time for your induction?

Moongirl10 · 27/05/2020 23:24

@Lady7978 I’m booked in for my c section tomorrow morning at 7:30am :) Feeling good just a bit nervous. Never had any kind of surgery before and this is my first baby. How are you getting on?

helpasisterout · 28/05/2020 04:01

@Moongirl10 all the best! Meeting baby so soon!!

woollycat · 28/05/2020 06:47

@Moongirl10 good luck girl!!! Nice and early, hopefully you got a good sleep and can use the rest of the day to enjoy baby!!!

@helpasisterout how did the examination go? Did you get to go back home and rest for the night?

I am still considering calling them up today and trying to push the induction date out, even if that means going past 42w. Just ordered some raspberry leaf tea too, I will try anything at this point!

helpasisterout · 28/05/2020 07:22

@woollycat yeah was ok had CTG and then the cook balloon device fitted where she got it in no problem and said I was 1cm and sent me home. Was pretty crampy and uncomfortable for 3/4 hours but coming and going in less frequent less painful waves now. Today I just have to call in if/when balloon falls out/waters break and if that doesn't happen by 9pm go in to have it removed and see if they can break my waters or which method to use next - all dependant in the fact that labour ward is super busy and may or may not have a bed for me - ugh the unknown for someone who loves to be organised is hard to take!

woollycat · 28/05/2020 17:28

@helpasisterout oh yes the uncertainty is something I struggle with too! Glad the balloon insertion was good, one thing at a time! Keep us posted especially if you get bored 😀❤️

woollycat · 28/05/2020 17:31

@Naughtysausage my induction is also now booked for Tuesday when I will be 41+5 but I am going to call them and try and move it to at least 42w or even 42+2. Are you sticking with Tuesday?

Moongirl10 · 28/05/2020 23:12

Hi ladies, baby Logan was born at 8:06am weighing 7lbs5. The c section went really smoothly. Hope you are all doing well!

Naughtysausage · 29/05/2020 00:47

@Moongirl10 congratulations! He's lovely! Hope you have a good smooth recovery!

@woollycat I went into labour and delivered on Wednesday evening! It was really quick - I had a show in the afternoon then by the time we'd had dinner it had all started. And he was here before midnight. And now I'm up with a tiny cluster feeding baby!
But I didn't have much of a clue it was all starting until the show in the afternoon. (Other than being grumpy about the bloody induction)

woollycat · 29/05/2020 07:03

Congratulations @Moongirl10!!! See I told you you wouldn't be the last one on this thread 😀 enjoy this special time ❤️

woollycat · 29/05/2020 07:03

OMG @Naughtysausage congratulations!!! That was really quick! Well done! ❤️

fluffyunicorns86 · 29/05/2020 07:44

Hello everyone hope your all doing well. I havent been on much with lots going on. Hope all babies are doing well also. I had my little boy on the 30th april. Was going to be induced at 39+1 but I was already 33-4cms dilated so was going to just break my waters. I went in tuesday and no room on delivery until 5am thursday morning. He was born at 15:07pm. He was a massive 9lbs my growth scans showed he was going to be a biggish baby. This is picture of when he was born. He is now 4 weeks old.

Baby was born yesterday evening- a day before due date. I certainly wasn't expecting it and thought baby will be a week or more late as it seems most first babies are.
It's surreal! We should be home later on today.

Congratulations @Moongirl10 Flowers Our babies share a birthday. Glad your section went well and you're doing well. How is baby doing?

Congratulations @Naughtysausage Flowers. That was super quick. Our stories are quite similar. Glad to know you're doing well and baby is feeding well too.

@helpasisterout how are you doing? Any update?

@woollycat how are you doing? Where you able to love the induction date?

Lady7978 · 29/05/2020 08:00

@fluffyunicorns86 congratulations! Flowers How have you been over the last few weeks and how has baby been too? There's a 'May 2020' group you can join too, if you want.x

woollycat · 29/05/2020 10:06

@Lady7978 congratulations!! That's amazing! Did you have any signs beforehand? I am desperate to hear some positive first time birth stories where there weren't any big symptoms for weeks before.

@fluffyunicorns86 congratulations!!!

november90 · 29/05/2020 13:07

Congratulations on all the recent births!
I've still be following this thread and it's so nice and exciting to see all the new arrivals! ❤️

My little Marley is 2 weeks old now and he is just amazing! I didn't know that I had this much love to give! Feel so blessed to have 2 little boys ❤️

itsybitsya · 29/05/2020 14:19

Hey everyone !

Just checking in to see how you all are and congratulations on all the babies - were nearly at the end of May !

Margot is a month old now and what a month we've had !

She failed to put on any weight until she was 17 days old, she lost 9% of her birth weight

I had severe mastitis and so she had to go on formula to get her weight back up

She had jaundice

She the developed dangerous diarrhoea- every 45 minutes - and lots of other little symptoms and became so dehydrated that she stopped breathing twice and we ended up spending 48 hours in hospital for her to be monitored and to be diagnosed with a milk allergy !

She's now a week into her new prescription formula and is putting on weight and is so much better !

She's completely different in every way to my older two but we're getting there - it's definitely been a learning curve and she's a very demanding madam now she's feeling better - I'm struggling to get over the guilt of not realising something was wrong and her allergy until she was 3 weeks old

How's everyone finding the newborn stage ?

Emmacb82 · 29/05/2020 15:52

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! @fluffyunicorns86 we have the same birth date!

Glad your little one is doing better now @itsybitsya mine had jaundice too and needed phototherapy for a couple of days. Don’t feel guilty, it’s not always easy at the time to know what’s going on x

Moongirl10 · 29/05/2020 19:54

@Lady7978 Congrats on the birth of your sweet baby! Ours is doing good, I’m just exhausted after the c section and can’t really get proper rest in the hospital. Looking forward to getting home.

facevalue · 29/05/2020 21:01

@itsybitsya omg you poor thing- that's so stressful.

if it's any consolation i had a similar issue with my first and she lost birth weight and they made us give her formula then the diarrhea vomitting and dehydration set in then she also got dehydrated and to be admitted to hospital - we introduced the formula and i had to go dairy and soya free - it was hell - fast forward 3 years.. she got over her allergies she is fully healthy and thriving x it will seem like an impossible thing but hang in there - things will get better i promise xxx lots of love

i'm still expressing as my newborn will not latch at all - i cry everyday because i loved BF and it's a shock we r not there yet.. with lockdown all support is on phone and video - ITS SHIT😔 i definitely did not see this coming and it's not the journey i was hoping for - i don't feel the same bond with this baby as i did when i breastfed my first which breaks my heart and i hardly do anything for my toddler so i feel like a shit mum to her too... my hubby is not kind towards me and makes me feel like i'm shitty at everything and tells me i'm rubbish when he's tired😞

facevalue · 29/05/2020 21:04

congratulations on all new babies - lovely pictures x

is there a struggling with breastfeeding / expressing support group ? if anyone knows?

Babymamma192 · 30/05/2020 02:16

Hi everyone, only just managed to read the recent messages!
So happy to hear of all the new arrivals and hoping your all doing well!

I was induced on the 23rd then had my waters broken at 18:15 and the baby was born at 22:49 so I had a pretty good labour and managed just on gas and air!
Breastfeeding is such a struggle it's so hard to get her to latch and the lack of support is hard too but I'm determined to persevere! Any tips are very welcome I've got to wait until the 10th to see the infant feeding lady, hoping that I can manage until then!
