So pleased everything went well today Teabelly. Good luck with your scan on Monday Welshmum.

Hello lummox and Happymum. My due date is 13th June too!

Soooooooo tired today, don't think I can manage much more typing without falling asleep.....

MissTuesday · 14/10/2004 17:11

oooooh can I join this one too please. Due June 4th, another happy surprise, and might I add, sick as a dog (a strange saying that my mum seems to use!) I definitely don't remember morning sickness being all day and night with ds. My clothes are getting tight as well, I can't believe its all happening this early.
xxx

MrsWednesday · 14/10/2004 19:14

Hello MissTuesday, from MrsWednesday! How odd is that?

Congratulations!

I'm also suffering from too-tight clothes, and I'm only just 5 weeks.

How old is your DS by the way?

happymumxxx · 15/10/2004 08:02

Morning all! So were due the same date Mrs Wednesday-thats lovely. Were you on time with your ds.I was spot on with my dd so we shall see. I went to the drs yesterday and forgot to ask my due date - ive just worked that out myself. Was your last period 6th Sep Mrs Wednesday? Off to get ready for Jo Jingles see you later.Hope everyones feeling not too bad!!

welshmum · 15/10/2004 08:45

Congrats Miss Tuesday - you and I are due on the same day.
I've got the same problem with clothes - can't believe it - my jeans are already way too uncomfortable to wear all day - I'm going to have to buy a bigger pair. Suppose I can use them after for a bit.....

teabelly · 15/10/2004 14:21

I think the too tight clothes must have something to do with being 2nd babes due...my stomach grows so much during the course of the day that I physically can't do them up at night, good job it's only dh who see's me loafing about on the sofa with my tummy bursting out of my jeans! In fact I've just bought one of those 'maternity belt' adjustments on ebay so that I don't embarrass my self at work with my skirt falling down after lunch when I have to undo the buttons

teabelly · 15/10/2004 14:24

Sorry didn't say...congratulations Miss Tuesday and welcome

muddaofsuburbia · 15/10/2004 14:32

Just noticed MrsWednesday that your ds was 2 in September - mine too!

I feel really rubbish this week, I don't know how much longer I can hide it! But the more hideous I feel the more likely things are going well. I just need to keep reminding myself...

I had no sickness with ds, just nausea, but it definitely didn't start this early.

On the positive side, my clothes seem to have got way looser in the last couple of weeks, so there's still hope that I'll get back into my old maternity clothes!

Having said that my leftover tummy pouch from ds means I always look 4 months pg anyway - at least I can fill it in legitimately now!

Hi to all the new Juners

lummox · 15/10/2004 15:31

Hi all,

Have just got back from a meeting where I am convenced everybody was wondering why I was yawning and (discreetlyish) burping so much.

Also have been to first Dr's appointment - I'm due June 6 - first baby, though, so the doctor said it would be likely to be late.

Dr was very relaxed about alcohol (saying that it is only necessary to cut down) and found it funny when I asked about caffeine.

Is this normal?

muddaofsuburbia · 15/10/2004 16:39

Hi Lummox

I think your GP was probably about right on both alcohol and caffeine. You are safe to have both in moderation - obviously don't get plastered or have double espressos every day, but a glass of wine every now and then and a few coffees (even the odd "real" coffee) are fine. You may find you go off them completely anyway!

Personally I'm still drinking tea (until it makes me spew) but will avoid alcohol for the first 12 weeks. It's a personal preference I think.

Angeliz · 15/10/2004 16:45

Just spotted this one
Congratulations to one and all++++++++++++++

lummox, i stopped alcohol for the first 12-13 weeks (stopped smoking too!!!, still not smoking obviously), i now have the odd glass of wine though. Usually treat myself on a Saturday night while i'm watching pop idol
Then maybe a glass of red one weeknight with a nice fillet steak.
My heartburn is AWFUL again though (as with dd) so i'm finding it unbearable at the mo to drink anything!!!(I'm due in Feb by the way, just incredibly nosy on all the pregnancy threads

hester · 15/10/2004 16:56

Just popping over from ttc11 thread to say congratulations all of you and very best of luck

Seabird · 17/10/2004 20:00

lummox - if you do decide you can't wait, you can get a viability scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley St for £100. See their website . I'm due in April and had a scan at 8 weeks because I was having funny tummy cramps. It was a bit extravagant but very reassuring to see the baby.

Congratulations all, btw!

MrsWednesday · 17/10/2004 21:56

Sorry I haven't been around, I've been to France to visit my Dad as it was his birthday...very tiring with a 2 year old! Everyone around me was knocking back the red wine whilst I sipped my Perrier miserably.

Happymum, my DS was 10 days early, much to my surprise. I'll even admit to being a bit disappointed - I was enjoying lounging around on the settee eating chocolate. Won't be the same this time round though, will it? And yes, my last period was 6th September.

Seems like there is a few of us with two year olds - was laughing and nodding in agreement at your permanent 'four months pregnant' comment muddaofsuburbia

Just got my 'early' scan date back from the hospital - 14th December!!!! So I'm definitely booking a private one in the next couple of weeks as I really can't wait that long.

Must go to bed now, hope you are all feeling well (or should that be awful? I don't know!)

Good luck tomorrow Welshmum.

teabelly · 18/10/2004 10:05

How's everyone feeling this morning?

Welshmum hope all went ok with your scan this morning.

We had to tell both mum's this weekend, sooner than we'd have liked thanks to ds! Sitting around the table after sunday lunch he proudly announces to nanny and grandma that mummy has a baby in her tummy and he's seen it...wasn't quite sure how to get out of that one, and so fessed up

Just going to have to tape up his mouth now for a few weeks until we're ready to tell the rest of the world, ha ha ha

muddaofsuburbia · 18/10/2004 10:09

Morning everyone

Feel gross (hurrah !!!) so all is still well for the moment. And I'm going off tea - my one pleasure in the world is being cruelly robbed from me. It was about 16 wks last time before I could face a cuppa.

I look like death now, so I'm so surprised no-one's just asked me outright. Can't believe it's still only 6 weeks - I feel like I've been pg for ages!
Bleurgh ....

welshmum · 18/10/2004 10:38

Morning all,
Just back from the scan - all fine and dandy thank goodness. Didn't realise how nervous I was until the lovely Aussie sonographer was sooo nice that I cried!
There's only one in there too - quite relieved - it's wierd what your brain conjures up.
Lummox - I'm also totally off the vino, not out of principal as I don't think the odd glass is a problem - just can't face even the thought of it. Don't drink caffeine normall so that's not an issue. Can't believe I've gone off chocolate though.
Hope you all had good weekends and are feeling 'as well as can be expected'x

katzguk · 18/10/2004 10:56

morning all, well morning sickness has now set in with avenegence! and have now got to come up with a convincing reason for it when DH's stepdad visits this week (he didn;t stay over night last week so is back now for a more indepth visit).

Think DD (2) might give the game away and she keeps coming out with mummy's got a baby tummy!!

MrsWednesday · 18/10/2004 11:46

So pleased everything went well with the scan Welshmum. That's great news.

And so sorry you're feeling so sick Katzguk. Are you managing to eat anything?

To those who already have children, have you told them about the pregnancy yet? Not sure when to say something to my DS.

Is anyone else suffering from constipation? If so, have you got any good tips to get rid of it? I'm eating lots of fruit, drinking loads of water, just had a big bowl of alpen, but nothing is working. It's really, really painful! Sorry, I'm sure you don't want to know all that...

katzguk · 18/10/2004 11:52

hi
mrswed - finding this time if i eat continuosly that i don't feel too sick!! not great for the waistline though!! re telling our DD we haven't yet but she''s coming out with things which suggest she knows,

teabelly · 18/10/2004 11:58

Welshmum, fab news

Mrs Wednesday, as I mentioned in my earlier post I had to take ds with me for the scan so he's kind of aware (esp as we have a friend who's due January and he likes to talk to her babybelly). I'm not sure when is the best time to tell them. Ds is 2yrs 4mths and we thought we'd just talk about it normally and take him to the scans etc so that he gets used to the idea over time and feels part of the whole experience...mind you this led to his letting the cat out of the bag at the weekend and judging by his reaction at the early scan I might leave him with his nan next time

welshmum · 18/10/2004 11:59

DD (2.5) doesn't know a thing and I'm hoping to keep it that way for a long time otherwise she'll just get overexcited and want it to arrive NOW.
Mrs Wednesday - I was told that the food just needs to stay longer in your system so that the maximum amount of nutrition is extracted from it. So you're not constipated it's just that things slow down markedly. Does that make sense? Don't know if it's true but it made me feel better.

MrsWednesday · 18/10/2004 12:05

I think I'm scared to say anything to my DS in case things go wrong and I'll have to tell him that too. The sooner I find out if everything is ok with this pregnancy, the better for everyone - I'm such a misery guts at the minute.

Welshmum, thanks for the explanation. Does that mean it's pointless trying anything like prune juice then?

Keep eating Katzguk...if you can't do it now, when can you do it?

welshmum · 18/10/2004 12:11

Unless you really like pruen juice

MrsWednesday · 18/10/2004 12:13

Err. No.

Just off to eat a plum now though, see if that gets things going a bit...

I promise this will be last message about my bottom!!!
