@Lazydaisydaydream that is wonderful news. So happy for you.

I had another nose bleed in the middle of the night and last 2 mornings I'v had unreal cramps in my legs! So sore actually frightening until it eases off!! Anyone else experiencing this?? I of course googled it! Seems to be common in pregnancy with baby lying in nerves etc !!

DaffyTaffy24 · 24/04/2020 12:00

Fab news @Lazydaisydaydream!

Haven't had cramps as such @ShiningStarz but I get this feeling that I need to stretch and move my legs pretty much every evening - weird. Sounds bloody horrible though... you would think that evolution would have sorted out this pregnancy lark and made us all sleep like logs through pregnancy in preparation for the sleepless nights!

As for the continued shielding after June, my midwife mentioned this a few weeks ago... I didn't take too much notice thinking that things might be better by then, but now it seems to be the message through all midwifery units. It just so happens that we're all pretty much smack on 28 weeks come the end of the 12 weeks shielding!
Think you're all right though, need to get in to my head now that I probably wont be able to go shopping with my mum and sisters or partner's mum... I know it sounds pathetic, but I feel almost jealous of other women who have had or will have the 'normal' first pregnancy experience. Especially other women connected to my and partners families who are constantly talking about 'when they are pregnant blah blah blah'. I know it's the jealousy, but anyone else feel as though their baby and pregnancy is going to go under the radar?

I feel so bad for feeling this way, as someone said, there so many going through so much worse.

DaffyTaffy24 · 24/04/2020 12:10

Oh god I've just read that post back... it's definitely a jealous attention thing.... atleast I can admit it right?! 🤦‍♀️

ChipsAreLife · 24/04/2020 12:11

@lazydaisydream that is brilliant news!!! So pleased for you.

@ShiningStarz pregnancy is the pits. Could possible be dehydration too?

To be honest I don't see how life will be going back to 'normal' for some time. I'm hopeful non essential shops may open soon 🤞 I really love having a wonder around! So shallow lol.

Also are pregnant women having to shield after 28 weeks? I thought it was just self isolate as much as possible? Trouble is we still have to go to medical apps so we can't be completely at home?

It's completely normal to feel robbed of everything. I think everyone does, and it's amplified when pregnant. For me I'm really upset at the thought that family won't meet baby for a long time 😥 but I'm trying to stay positive, every day we do is another day closer to normality

@ChipsAreLife I've been told 'shield' after 28 weeks, research shows pregnant women are at higher risk of respiratory illness after 28 weeks... then it's been reported that the decision has been made to birth baby via csection to alleviate the strain on lungs, if mum is very poorly with the virus. I think that's what they're worried about, having prem babies with poorly mamas.
Midwife did say just to bear it in mind that I may need to talk to my manager before I'm due to return to work, but see what the restrictions and guidance are come June.

And wanting to mooch the shops isn't shallow at all! It was nice just looking at things before I was 12 weeks, but I wouldn't buy before then. I suppose we're saving money by having to search online, not just buying from shops because that 6th pair of little tiny converse in a different colour are too precious NOT to buy 😉

ShiningStarz · 24/04/2020 12:34

I'm constantly drinking hot water throughout the day, much easier for me than cold water. I'v been having 2/3 teas a day but think I'll start trying to cut it out completely!!

My parents are 68 and 78. This child for me is a miracle and one I never thought would ever happen. They are isolating and I'll continue to isolate but there's no way I'll not be letting them see their grandchild when little one arrives. Will just be extra careful.

ChipsAreLife · 24/04/2020 12:49

@DaffyTaffy24 ah ok didn't realise it had been upgraded to shielding. Not sure how I'll cope without getting a walk or taking the kids on a bike ride but guess we just have to. Hopefully we will get the information at 28 week midwife app.

Let's mooch online together then 😆 let's share what we've seen/bought to get the excitement going!

@ShiningStarz I'm sorry it sucks. Sadly we've lost parents in both my pregnancies so I've already experienced that awful feeling of having them meet denied. Was just hoping my siblings could get a cuddle in but looking unlikely till next year!! I agree though best to keep everyone safe.

Although one of my siblings will have to have the girls when I give birth and when I get picked up as I'm having a section so can't drive.

Sending hugs to everyone, it's so bloody shite!

@ShiningStarz completely agree re parents. Im happy to follow guidelines but will also common sense things. My parents will see my baby for sure. Xx

ShiningStarz · 24/04/2020 13:08

I'm sorry to hear that @ChipsAreLife ☹️ hugs xx

ShiningStarz · 24/04/2020 13:13

For the ones that have had your 20 week ish scan. Did you get given your mat certificate to give to your employer?

ShiningStarz · 24/04/2020 13:14

Ps whoever it was I offered nutrition advice too, don't take it!! In lie rally eating a cheese & pickle sandwich with a curry pot noodle 🙈🤣

Roxy8203 · 24/04/2020 15:22

@ShiningStarz I didn't get it at the 20 week. I think maybe it's from your midwife at your 24/25 weeks check up.

ShiningStarz · 24/04/2020 15:30

I found out from my cons @Roxy8203 apparently only GP's can issue it and must not be issued until 20 weeks or less from EDD. I plan to ring my GP after the 20 week scan next week xx

emma278 · 24/04/2020 15:40

@ShiningStarz @Roxy8203 at my 16 week midwife phonecall she said they were giving them out at 20 week scans now due to circumstances xx

Roxy8203 · 24/04/2020 17:03

@emma278 oh that's interesting, I didn't get it last week. Maybe it's one of those things that is different depending on your trust

Lorna198 · 24/04/2020 17:03

@Lazydaisydaydream so pleased the results were positive for you!

@MooseWL the highlight of my week is Saturday morning at Lidl’s lol.

@DaffyTaffy24 I 100% agree. The excitement at the beginning from everyone was awesome and now it’s literally nothing seems so weird to not be able to chat to mums and get support apart from a few messages!

@ShiningStarz haha sounds like I should take you up on that diet! Also my midwife said to message her after 20 weeks and she will sort my form out.

Lilice · 24/04/2020 17:11

@Lazydaisydaydream excellent news, so happy for you!

Lazydaisydaydream · 24/04/2020 19:08

Thanks everyone! I cried with relief at the scan, has just been like a cloud hanging over me! Feeling like I can let myself get excited now.

Agree about the idea of parents not meeting the babies being really hard. My parents both have health issues so are basically self isolating, therefore I'd probably feel quite safe seeing them. However my MIL is a nurse Confused my husband says there's no way we could have one set meet the baby and not the other. Just hoping it doesn't come to having to make that decision and that the restrictions have been slightly lifted by then!

Chanel05 · 24/04/2020 19:47

@Lazydaisydaydream I'm glad that your news today has been much more positive. You must be elated.

@DaffyTaffy24 I feel the same as you that I can't share my pregnancy in the way that most people do. I keep wondering if I'm even going to get the chance to try our prams which I've been so excited for.

DaffyTaffy24 · 24/04/2020 22:14

@Lorna198 @Chanel05 @ChipsAreLife glad I'm not alone ladies, I've felt really bad for feeling this way! Think it's a fab idea to share our mooches though Grin
I thought today that I'm going to try and combat my mope'ing and grumping by trying to think that actually, we're all going to have a such a unique pregnancy. Not everyone will be able to say they were carrying and having to prepare for a child through one of the scariest times the country has known for a long time - we're pretty much super mums already.... even if I do say so myself Wink

@Lazydaisydaydream funnily enough I was thinking about this today. My partner's mum is a nurse too and if I'm honest I don't think I'd feel comfortable either Confused
But like your hubby said... can't do one without the other!! Fingers crossed it won't be quite so strict by the time babies arrive, if not before!

ShiningStarz · 25/04/2020 08:12

Morning everyone! Happy Saturday!!
I kinda feel annoyed that I can't go shopping as normal but I'm also feeling blessed that I can work from home now. I travel a lot for work and if it wasn't for this situation I would be flying and driving all over the place right up to mat leave. 20 weeks tomorrow and 3 sleeps until the hospital appt 💜

OrDis · 25/04/2020 09:56

Do you guys still go out for your daily exercise or are you entirely staying in? I don’t think i’d cope without my daily walk around the neighbourhood! It keeps me sane! I went to our office on Thursday to pick up some IT equipment to make working from home easier for me- it was pretty exciting to drive more than 5 minutes from the house 🤣

DaffyTaffy24 · 25/04/2020 10:05

Morning all!

@ShiningStarz yeah I get you, it definitely feels bitter sweet.

@OrDis oh goh yeah! We're quite lucky we have woods and the river very close to us so we walk the dogs every day. It wouldn't just be the dogs bouncing off the walls if we didn't! Anybody else find that their lower tummy aches like hell towards the end of a walk now though? I feel I have to hold it to stop something from pinging 🤣
Quite jealous of your drive though! I haven't driven in 2 weeks 😫

OrDis · 25/04/2020 10:29

@daffytaffy24, i’m the same with the tummy- I think it’s probably my posture walking. Also sometimes at the start of my walk I get like a hip clicking feeling, so bizzare!!!
