@Chanel05 like almost deep inside low down. Phew that makes me feel better! Baby still feels like its wiggling around xx

Lorna198 · 23/04/2020 17:09

Had a call today from the weight management pregnancy care Team today.
And it’s put me on a real downer!
I was happy with how I’m doing being a high bmi and currently 15 stone 5 - bouncing around 12-15lbs lighter than conception weight yet still having a much rounder belly!
Cooking all but one meal a week from scratch and eating much healthier meal choices. .
Yes I’m eating snacks at night but I have no alcohol, ciggies or happy pills like I’m used to so I’m ok with that.

She isn’t 😂 her scale of points is to be under 16. I hit 53, need to cut out snacks, crisps, cheese, have atleast 2 days a week meat free, eat breakfast everyday, do my one hour exercise outside a day plus some more in the house. Apparently I should be sitting down for no more than 4 hours a day (I’m awake 14 hours a day, what am I supposed to do for the other 10 😂)

It’s left me very deflated and I know I should just take her points on board but she also said when I mentioned getting back to work that she is highly doubtful I will return to work as when the restrictions on jobs are lifted (probably around June for my work at Greggs) the vulnerable will be advised to start another 12 weeks of staying in which takes it well into August. I said yeah but we can’t guarantee any of that and she said no we can’t however her usual visits are on hold and it’s calls only till September at the earliest for the protection of pregnancies.

I really really hope she is wrong. So I’m writing the rest of today off and gonna finish the biscuits off to avoid temptation tomorrow 🙄😂

@emma278 yes definitely in the same place. I had round ligament pain last night in bed it was quite strong and sharp as I lay on my side. Last night I'm sure I saw a little tiny kick out on my belly a few times which was exciting! I haven't properly felt baby yet though.

emma278 · 23/04/2020 17:14

@Lorna198 i really hate those preachy roles, i know they have a job to do but its the tone. You sound like you are doing really well.

At my booking in my bmi was 'overweight' ive been exactly the same weight since i was 18 im now 33, ive dieted worked out it never changes. I just choose to accept thats me, i eat healthily where i can and obviously even more so for baby and take vitamins. But a fun snack or indulgence now and again is fine. Life is too short. Especially at the moment. Happy mum is just as important!!

emma278 · 23/04/2020 17:16

@Chanel05 yes ive had round ligament pain in bed a few times too, it actually made me shout out in pain haha.

Im 20 weeks today and the last 2 days the kicks have really come along.

Im feeling super anxious at the moment i think because i have my scan Monday.

Xx

Lilice · 23/04/2020 17:32

@Lorna198 she sounds a bit harsh, especially considering we are in a lockdown. Looks like you're doing well, dont let her make you feel down xx

ShiningStarz · 23/04/2020 17:43

Welcome @Emmy2020 @Sulkypatsy lovely to have you join the chat. It really is so important seeing as we won't meet other mums at antenatal groups ☹️

@emma278 sounds like ligament pains. I'v had them since 12 weeks! When I sneeze lying down I know all about it!!! It's a good sign lots of stretching and growth happening down there!!

@MooseWL that sounds gross! Sorry!! Maybe breast milk production starting or something??

@Lorna198 it's all so hard ☹️ well done for losing the weight, I feel for you. I was seeing a dietician before I got pregnant as I have endometriosis and my diet was making me feel really lethargic and I was drinking too much gin!! If you want tips on meal plans etc I'll share mine with you. I don't stick to it totally especially now in lockdown cause I'm always in the kitchen now 🙈 happy to help x

emma278 · 23/04/2020 17:49

@ShiningStarz ive had alot of ligament pain but this felt different mild and deep inside but im hoping its a similar thing xx

MooseWL · 23/04/2020 18:12

@Lorna198 it sounds like you're doing really well, especially with making healthier choices and cooking from scratch most of the time which is hard at the moment!
@shiningstarz I googled it and apparently our nips start making more oils to try and protect them from the dryness and trauma to come 🙄😂 lovely!

ChipsAreLife · 23/04/2020 18:13

Welcome @Emmy2020 and @Sulkypatsy!

@lorna ah that's rubbish. Sounds like you're doing so well! Just keep on what you're doing!

@emma278 yes round ligament pain! Mine is bad if I get up too quickly!!!

Had my scan today. Was all good but baby was a bit tricky to see properly as was curled up so my photos are rubbish. DH was a big down about it.
I felt flat too as I wanted to go to M&S and buy a baby grow but had to go to the food hall instead so I could eat my feelings 😅😅😅

Emmy2020 · 23/04/2020 18:15

Thank you everyone 😊

@emma278 I get that, it’s just that your tummy is stretching but if you are worried ring your midwife and they will know if it sounds okay. I told mine and she said it’s very common and also you can get quite an ache if you get up suddenly or in a funny position x

MooseWL · 23/04/2020 18:16

@Lorna198 it sounds like you're doing really well, especially with making healthier choices and cooking from scratch most of the time which is hard at the moment! Oh gosh another 12 weeks do you think that would be all pregnant people! I'm finding lockdown okay at the moment because I know my whole team are working from home, but I think if people were back in the office and I still had to stay home that would be worse! Do you know where that info has come from?
@shiningstarz I googled it and apparently our nips start making more oils to try and protect them from the dryness and trauma to come 🙄😂 lovely!

MooseWL · 23/04/2020 18:28

Not sure how I posted that twice 🙈@chipsarelife glad your scan was okay.
M&S food hall is the dream. There isn't one anywhere near me.
One day I hope to win the lottery and be able to do all my food shopping there haha

Lilice · 23/04/2020 20:44

@ChipsAreLife glad your scan went well

Lilice · 23/04/2020 20:54

@MooseWL I cannot see the end of this lockdown. We'll probably be near the third trimester when we approach the end of it and we'll have to be even more careful. Im not even gonna mention the other waves of this virus that they are expecting.
Then when baby is here, I know I will find it hard to go outside just in case he/she gets it. I think I'm going to isolate until next year, which really depresses me. So many things I'd like to do. I really really hope I am wrong and that things will go back to normal soon. But at the moment I feel stuck in a weird science fiction scenario.

ShiningStarz · 23/04/2020 22:00

@ChipsAreLife that's great about your scan.

Not long to our scans @emma278

emma278 · 23/04/2020 22:41

@ShiningStarz i cant wait. I feel like an anxious mess at every niggle and then when i dont feel baby as active. I think i always get extra anxious coming up to an appointment xxx

Chanel05 · 23/04/2020 22:47

Has anyone else had this thought...

Obviously the '12 week shielding' comes to an end for us around mid-June time by which we will be in/entering the third trimester. Do you think women in their third trimester will be encouraged to continue to shield? I feel like I'm not going to speak to any other humans in the flesh my whole pregnancy other than DH and my midwife.

Lilice · 23/04/2020 22:49

@Chanel05 yes that's what I think will happen unfortunately

ShiningStarz · 23/04/2020 23:06

@emma278 I'm anxious too but also looking forward to getting past the next stage

@Chanel05 it's crap isn't it. But at least we are safe and remain safe until it's time for our little ones to arrive. I don't even think it will be possible to have visitors to the house after birth unfortunately!!!

HugeAgeGap · 24/04/2020 09:23

Yes I concur we will have to shield through the third trimestester due to them thinking there is potential for premature labour (not confirmed, just some cases in China that haven't been fully investigated either way) and also I don't think I'd wanted anyone visiting me or my newborn baby whilst I'm already struggling with feeding and sleepless nights, to then catch any virus or illness in those first few weeks would be absolute hell - especially as I've had a c section before and can't even imagine having a recent one and then catching a cough!! x

Lorna198 · 24/04/2020 09:54

Thanks for the kind words ladies.
Today is a new day!
Happy weekend, may it fly by fast for those waiting for next week!

Lazydaisydaydream · 24/04/2020 10:03

I had my follow up scan and they are pretty convinced the problem on my earlier scan is nothing serious and that everything is fine. I feel like such a massive weight has lifted!! Thank you so much to everyone on this thread for your support it honestly meant so much to me Flowers

I had a big meeting with the consultant and I asked her about the lockdown situation as my original 12 weeks takes me to 28 weeks. She said I will most likely have to keep doing the same until after the baby is here, although they may ease some restrictions such as not seeing close family (but she said no hugging or kissing haha). To be honest although it's a bit depressing to think of not going out for potentially another 4/5 months, I'd rather just accept that so that I can come to terms with it rather than hoping I'll be allowed out and then be disappointed when I'm not! If that makes sense.

I've started having Braxton Hicks and my boobs have gotten really big and every now and then I'm getting a tingle. I started with BH and my breasts leaking at six months with my last pregnancy, so wondering whether it's just starting a few weeks earlier this time Hmm. Was hoping I'd have a bit longer before having to go back to wearing bras to bed and breastpads all the time!!

HugeAgeGap · 24/04/2020 10:07

@Lazydaisydaydream I'm so relieved for you that all seems to be ok! Thank goodness for that 😁

I think what the Consultant is suggesting is realistic given the uncertainty of the situation. It's quite clear there is no way out without vaccine or anti viral drugs and they aren't gonna come within the next 4/5 months before we give birth.

I think the quicker we can accept this the better for our mental health for the rest of our pregnancies! It's not what we planned, it's pretty tough going but I keep thinking of the other patients like cancer patients and what they're going through and crikey, I'm actually one of the lucky ones right now! xx

MooseWL · 24/04/2020 11:03

@lazydaisydream that's great news!

I woke up at 3am and that's when I decided to check this thread and after reading these messages I couldn't sleep. I really hadn't thought about having to continue to shield in the 3rd trimester. I know there's nothing we can do and we will get through it it just seems mad. I was meant to be in Portugal today for a long weekend! Instead I've been in a queue for sainsburys for the last hour haha. Tbh at least it's sunny and I'm just thrilled my partner agreed to me going (he normally goes but is too busy at work and i really wanted to just leave the house 😂) oh the excitement
