@Lazydaisydaydream the Aden Anais stuff is lovely. I liked their small
Muslins and then the larger ones for swaddling/feeding. They had a gorgeous zip sleeping bag at 50% off but sold out! I joined their mailing list and will keep an eye out over next couple months 💜 thanks x

Lilice · 08/05/2020 18:10

@lazydaisydaydream I love my giand muslin from Aden and anais and use it from swaddling.
I found that I needed loads of muslims with my firstborn who was breastfed. I didnt breastfeed my second and didnt need them as much. I found bibs to be much more handy.

Lilice · 08/05/2020 18:15

For those who have had their 20 week scan, did you get weighed? Also, were you given your matb1? And did you wear masks and gloves?

Franny0696 · 08/05/2020 18:42

@lilice - you get your MATB1 form from your midwife speak to her and she will do a phone assessment with you.

& the ultrasound guy didn't wear gloves or mask! Xx

sianyflewog · 08/05/2020 19:01

@Lilice Only saw the sonographer, so no antenatal checks, weigh ins etc. You can go to antenatal afterwards though if you want - they might give you your MATB1 then? I just rang the GP surgery on the Friday after my scan, they left a note for the midwife, and she called to say it was ready to collect the following Monday.

For my scan, I was given a mask when I arrived at reception and the sonographer wore full PPE.

sianyflewog · 08/05/2020 19:02

Just saw this on Insta - thought it might be useful x

@Lilice mine was just the scan. No bloods or urine or BP & defo no weighing me!

@baggies I've been getting maternity stuff from Seraphine, JoJo Maman, New Look and Next. Congratulations to your daughter!

OrDis · 08/05/2020 19:50

@Lilice our hopsital did a very brief antenatal check after the scan. I had my blood pressure taken and my urine checked. Wasn't weighed though. I was also given a MAT1B form, but I think that was only because I asked about it, and the midwife seemed happy as I was 20+3.

HugeAgeGap · 08/05/2020 20:17

@Lilice my NHS trust doesn't do any additional checks at the 20w scan, just purely sonographer anomaly scan. I get the MAT form at the next MW appt at 25w.

I was asked to wash hands and put on a face mask at reception. Sonographer collected me and kept 2 metres away from that point on (bit tricky on the couch when the scan was taking place!) and she only had a mask on, no gloves etc.

The scans usually take place in the main hospital but they had moved the scanning dept to a smaller building just off site.

baggies · 08/05/2020 20:18

Thanks everyone. I've passed your suggestions on. She's having a hard time getting used to her changing shape and found it frustrating not being able to go out and look. I'm sure she'll find some nice stuff at the shops you've suggested.
Congratulations to you all too!

ChipsAreLife · 08/05/2020 21:06

@baggies to be honest online is best bet for maternity. Store selection is non existent it very small!

@Lilice just a scan for me. I didn't wear anything but sonographer did.

Oh and I got my matb posted to me as I asked for it

ShiningStarz · 08/05/2020 22:02

Just a scan with sonographer for me. She didn't wear a mask or Ppe. I didn't have to either. The woman at the front desk checking me in had a mask and the woman doing temp checks and asking covid stoks etc.. was literally in and out in 30 minutes! No midwife and my glucose tolerance test I was supposed to have was cancelled. Gp to give me the matb1. Prob get it when I go in for whooping cough vaccine.

ChipsAreLife · 08/05/2020 22:03

Sorry meant asked for it to be posted as wasn't seeing MW for ages! Was typing whilst doing something else and worried my post reads wrong!

Emmy2020 · 08/05/2020 23:06

@Lilice I didn’t wear a mask or anything but used hand sanitiser. Had a sonographer and another typing the notes in both in aprons, gloves and masks. No other tests apart from the scan.

Lilice · 08/05/2020 23:26

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I've got some gloves and masks at home, I guess I'll take with me just in case.

I was just browsing baby clothes online, and verbaudet have everything in stock at the moment..I thought I'd let youse know

Zaalfruit · 10/05/2020 07:44

Good morning everyone , does anyone have any recommendations for pushchairs , prams - feeing really over whelmed by it all . Just wanted to know how much I should set a side for it . So many choices I want to make a good decision but it’s over whelming me.

ChipsAreLife · 10/05/2020 09:19

@lilice be careful with gloves as they have found to spread more germs so just be aware you need to change them! I saw a woman wearing them when I went for my scan, she came out the room touching doors etc and then picked her baby and it's blanket etc (she was there for post natal check). So just take them off as soon as you're done!

@Zaalfruit it's very overwhelming! The choice is so much. It depends on what your needs on really. Will you need it to go in car? Public transport? Where do you walk? Pavements or more rough country terrain?

OP posts:
ShiningStarz · 10/05/2020 09:31

@Zaalfruit I'm a first time mum and started looking at prams completely confused!
After lots of research and feedback here we have decided on the bugaboo fox 2, it's stupidly expensive £1029!!!☹️ however it suits our lifestyle with towpath walks, rough terrain forest walks, small house and it folds down easy for storage and looks fab. There's a video on their website. It suits up to age 4.

We also decided to buy a car seat that fits the chassis, we selected the maxi Cosi. So can take out car seat and click it onto the pram. We soon figured out we need to buy adaptors for that! Just keep googling xx

OrDis · 10/05/2020 10:06

I’m thinking of getting a Joie Chrome Dlx. Reasonably priced and has good reviews. I like that it folds down with the seat attached both front and rear facing. I’d like to go and test it though so holding out a bit longer to see if anywhere opens...

Zaalfruit · 10/05/2020 10:34

@ShiningStarz I really wanted the bugaboo but the price puts me of - it’s more than my monthly rent 😂 my sister in law has it and said the baby feels so comfortable in it the only reservation she has it’s huge and I’m quite small let’s say nearly 5’1. But it feels so luxurious.

@OrDis I saw the jolie chrome dlx on online baby4you and yes it looks like a great package deal- the two I really want to go in store and see is the jolie chrome dlx and the Ickle bubba v3 and v4 - they fit comfortable in my baby budget.

It’s such a shame we haven’t been able to browse in shops - I used to walk past Mothercare when it was open and look at all the baby stuff when I was TTC and now feel a bit robbed of the full experience with scans and shopping .

Lilice · 10/05/2020 10:44

@OrDis I was going to go for that one too and asked my husband to have a look at it. He did some research and we have just bought the Infababy FLO 3in1 i-Size. I'm glad that's out of the way now. Now I just need a new rocker and I think that's me done.
@ChipsAreLife thanks for the advice Smile

Sulkypatsy · 10/05/2020 10:51

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone is having issues with leaking nipples, I'm not really sure how to manage the care of them, I'm waking up with a yellowish hardened stuff on the nipple and leaking during the day, it's very little but my nipples are stinging quite a bit.

Sunshinexx95 · 10/05/2020 10:51

Hi everyone
Talking about prams.. they r expensive and very heavy. I was about to by bugaboo donkey 3 but the fabric in real looks super cheap. And then saw silver cross wave and everything was perfect about it except that it weights 17 kilos! And I don't want anything heavy ... so we r very confused and don't know what to buy BlushConfusedConfusedConfused
