That's really similar to one I picked up in M&S today @ShiningStarz we obviously have excellent taste!

@ShiningStarz Thanks! I will keep a look out!

Piper1879 · 07/05/2020 21:22

Welcome to the new ladies ! And congrats on who's had the scans. I've been exhausted this week and finally admitted I need a pregnancy pillow , any suggestions ?

Hope everyone is ok ! And looking forward to the bizarre bank holiday Monday /Friday 😂🙂

ShiningStarz · 07/05/2020 22:30

Love that M&s one @LatteLover12 😊

UrsulaSings · 08/05/2020 01:37

@sianyflewog we are getting a separate car seat and pushchair. Mum is getting the car seat and dad and step mum are getting the pushchair thankfully (first grandchild for all!).

I have loads of friends who have had babies who have said they can give me stuff so hoping go hold out on buying clothes, muslins and blankets as I know at least one friend has said she has shit loads of clothes for me.

Was a surprise baby so very much having to do things on a budget!! Just hope we're still able to pick these things up from people at some point!

Thank you for the welcome to the thread. I only go in the pregnancy forum so didnt realise this was here.

UrsulaSings · 08/05/2020 01:41

tuppenceandcrumble.com/shop/fleece-baby-star-wrap-brights

This is one thing I will deffo be buying though, especially as baby will be small during winter months. Been told how helpful it is as there aren't any buttons or anything, you can just wrap and go!

ShiningStarz · 08/05/2020 05:51

I bought this from next. Thought it would be good for walks. I got it in up to 3 months so thinking for Oct - Dec walks. Would it be too warm to wear whilst lying in the bassinet?

Lazydaisydaydream · 08/05/2020 07:42

@UrsulaSings thanks for posting that wrap...I remember seeing lots of babies wearing them at baby groups last time around and thinking they looked great but had forgotten all about them!

@ShiningStarz in the pram do you mean? Looks nice and cosy. Perfect!

sianyflewog · 08/05/2020 08:26

@ShiningStarz That blanket is gorgeous. Buy it. It’s worth getting a good quality blanket. We have sooooo many muslins - definitely worth getting plenty, as we probably used a different one for each feed at first! They sell them in supermarkets here (in the clothings section) - and they’re not too expensive. They’re still nice quality, and some of them have lasted better than my ones from JoJo. Would they have them in your supermarkets? If not, if you wanted to look on UK sites, I’d send them on to you. Also, in regards to clothes, remember that this will be an exciting time for so many people and you’ll probably have masses of gifts so you don’t need to buy that much. I actually bought Harry’s whole 6-9 and 9-12 month wardrobe in the Next sale the Christmas before he was born - so I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye in the summer sales for things for next summer xx

@Piper1879 I have the DreamGenii pillow and love it. I would recommend if you’re looking for something. They’re usually about £45, but I paid £30 on Amazon about 6 weeks ago.

Seeing what everyone has bought is panicking me a little - I’ve bought nothing bar two sleepsuits which might be no good 🙈 I’m trying to hold on as if the baby is a girl, I want pink. Going to have to bite the bullet before too long though. I submitted my application for maternity leave yesterday - and it feels like it’s so close already!

Piper1879 · 08/05/2020 08:59

@ursulasings I second tuppence and crumble , I picked up two star blankets off eBay for £14 for both second hand bargains !

Sara7455 · 08/05/2020 09:07

@Piper1879 I second the dream genii recommendation, also got mine cheap on amazon a few weeks ago and I love it. I’m really not a side sleeper but much more comfortable with the pillow!

@UrsulaSings my friend had the star blankets for all three of her babies and can’t recommend them enough. She says they’re also great because they’re squishy enough to be safe to wear in the car seat whereas coats etc all have to come off for safety.

@sianyflewog I’m with you not having bought much so far but I’m sort of glad I haven’t spent too much yet. I’m hitting the point where friends with kids already have started offering us bits and pieces they no longer need so it’s easier to budget for what I really want/need. We got a couple of bits from next pre-lockdown and that’s about it.

ShiningStarz · 08/05/2020 09:20

Thanks @Lazydaisydaydream it's not due to arrive until mid June so I emailed next to change size fro up to 3 to 3-6. I'm thinking jan- mar generally colder than Oct-Dec.. xx

@sianyflewog my partner isn't letting me go to any shops!!! He does all the food shopping twice a week. Even when they do open I'll not be in a rush to go. I'd rather wait until baby has safely arrived. I'll order Muslins online. Could order Asda/sainsburys online and boots do them too. If you can recommend any I'll get them xx thank u

ChipsAreLife · 08/05/2020 09:20

@sianyflewog I've not bought much. Just a few sleepsuits and a cardi to get me excited. I would like to try have everything sorted by beginning of August as then I'll be huge, knackered and have two kids hanging off me 🤪

Also borrow what you can off friends, some of the stuff they're barely in and it's so expensive!!!

Welcome to the newbies!

17 weeks today we meet our baby 🥰🥰🥰

I got some lush muslins from a site called cucumberries. I'd definitely recommend them if you like printed ones. I've also been able to get some lovely clothes from sainsburys online and my partner has been picking up bits when he does the shop there. I believe Tesco has a 50% sale on clothes this week, Mum got some nice bits for me. Bit gutted I'm the only one who can't go an buy him anything but I guess that's a detail really

sianyflewog · 08/05/2020 11:21

@ShiningStarz No I don’t go anywhere either! The ones from Sainsburys and ASDA are both nice, never had any from Boots but their clothing is lovely so I imagine they’d be nice!

Lazydaisydaydream · 08/05/2020 12:33

The Aden and anais muslins are lovely - they do really big ones with lovely patterns which can be used as a lightweight blanket or nursing cover. They're expensive but they often have them in Tk maxx. Or if anyone asks what you want as a present that's a good suggestion to give them Smile

baggies · 08/05/2020 13:01

Where have you all bought your maternity wear from? My daughter is due in September and having trouble getting clothes without a 6 week delivery time.

Roxy8203 · 08/05/2020 13:50

@baggies I've ordered a couple bits from boohoo.com and they have come pretty quickly. H&M isn't too bad either

ChipsAreLife · 08/05/2020 13:56

@baggies ASOS came in three days

OP posts:
sianyflewog · 08/05/2020 14:06

@Lazydaisydaydream I’ve got a big Disney Aden + Anais blanket that I’m watching ❤️ I did notice they’re selling them on the Next website today too! Xx

Sara7455 · 08/05/2020 14:24

@baggies mostly ASOS and then Jojo Maman Bebe for activewear. All turned up within a couple of days no problem. Saving money while we’re not allowed to go out though by basically living in leggings and massive over sized tees though! I’ll have issues if they suddenly decide I’m allowed back in the office 😂

Emmy2020 · 08/05/2020 15:31

@baggies I have ordered some things from H&M two dresses, 2 lots of leggings, white and black vest tops and pack of tights. Was around £60 for all of it. Hoping that’s enough! Other than that wearing normal clothes that are stretchy! Still waiting for order though so hope it comes soon! Did see some lovely things from jojo maman Bebe but they are more expensive.

ShiningStarz · 08/05/2020 15:42

@baggies H&M! Brilliant! I'v 2 pairs of skinny jeans with over the bump bit (blue and black). 2 T-shirt's (black and white) and their sports leggings. All fab and wash great. To be honest I'm living in either my jeans / leggings with ordinary top n hoodie.. got couple mat tops from new look that'll do for later. My H&M delivery kept showing with courier for weeks but it was in the collect plus place I'd selected for ages, just their system didn't update so bear that in mind.

ShiningStarz · 08/05/2020 15:43

@baggies congrats to your daughter!
