I’m hoping the shops will be open! Most things I’m ok buying online but same as you @emma278 I want to see the pram before I buy.
SIL had her baby a couple of months ago and was recommending all the baby shows etc, still a bit sad none of us can do that sort of thing but would at least like to see the pram before we buy 🤞

LooseyGoosey · 07/05/2020 10:41

I'm the same - happy to buy almost everything online, but I want to see (and touch!) the pram and the cot before we pick one. I'm probably a bit blase about these things but I'm inclined to think it'll be fine, as long as we take sensible precautions like social distance and hand washing etc.

emma278 · 07/05/2020 10:42

I know its a real shame isnt it @Sara7455 my mum is buying mine and we had planned a whole afternoon going to to look then a nice lunch or dinner etc. When in reality i havent seen her since march 10th 😩. Im not complaining as lucky to be healthy etc but there are just a few small things that get to me. Also not helpful that so much is sold out online in newborn etc. As soon as the shops open im going to raid John Lewis!! We have one really close to us xx

emma278 · 07/05/2020 10:43

Im the same @LooseyGoosey hve always been to be fair. I know its silly but we take risks every day in life anyway xx

Sara7455 · 07/05/2020 10:49

@emma278 my mum was really keen to do the mother - daughter nursery shopping day out as well. She lives about 3 hours away so I haven’t seen her since we told her about the baby in February. Obviously much better that everyone’s safe and healthy and understand why things are as they are but it is sad as well!

Emmy2020 · 07/05/2020 10:57

@Lorna198 Haha that will probably be the case!
@LooseyGoosey I spent ages looking at prams found it so difficult not seeing them in real life! In the end my best friend gave me her old bugaboo bee so that saved me about £700! Just been buying bits from ebay to refresh it up! 😊

Zaalfruit · 07/05/2020 11:25

I really wanted to go to the baby shows - great discounts and lots of freebies ! My friend went to a John Lewis one and she said the savings were amazing ! I really wanted to go to a shop to see prams I’m only 5’1 or 5’2 with Nike airs - so sometimes the prams are too high for me .

Lazydaisydaydream · 07/05/2020 11:33

My consultant has told me even if restrictions are lifted for everyone else I will still need to self isolate until the baby is born, and then the baby will need to be isolated until 8 weeks. Has anyone been told different?

So far I have asked every consultant/doctor Ive spoken to hoping I get a different answer haha.

ShiningStarz · 07/05/2020 11:36

@Lazydaisydaydream I think that's good advice. I plan to get everything online and won't be going near any shops before little one comes. I'm too cautious!

@Emmy2020 yep next first size is newborn x

ShiningStarz · 07/05/2020 11:39

Ps I read somewhere that if newborn bibs are used it can reduce number of outfit changes (minus the wee n poop
Ones) so I ordered some extra soft newborn bibs from next too

ChipsAreLife · 07/05/2020 11:42

@Lazydaisydaydream how are you doing? Did you say you have another app this week?

I've not been told that. Got a midwife app in a few weeks so will ask them what's going on as my next one isn't till 29 weeks and current guidance is self isolate till 28 weeks.

I'm the same about going to shops. It's not like it will be the same as it was before, social distancing will be in place, people will be washing hands etc. I'm not going to go mad but will pop to one or two to get some bits. I'll be more at risk going to hospital for midwife apps!

Hello everyone
Due 16th of September with my first after many failed attempts and discovered in tuesday shes a little girl!! 🥰 so so happy

Lazydaisydaydream · 07/05/2020 12:23

@ChipsAreLife my husband and I went and had blood taken this week for all the tests. Should hear the first results in a week and then last lot of results in two or three weeks. So just sitting with fingers crossed until then and hoping for the best!

ChipsAreLife · 07/05/2020 12:26

@Lazydaisydaydream got everything crossed for you. Seems like such a long time to wait. X

Just spotted this article about how much risk there is being pregnant:

Congratulations @Bekka94 💕

Roxy8203 · 07/05/2020 12:33

I was thinking the same about the pram but saw a great deal this week so watched some videos and searched the Facebook comments and nobody had a bad word to say so I've ordered it.
I've had a look at a couple of the virtual baby shows as we were planning on going to one this weekend, I've managed to get a could of deals

Emmy2020 · 07/05/2020 12:37

@Roxy8203 A virtual baby show??

Roxy8203 · 07/05/2020 13:20

@Emmy2020 on Facebook they have done a baby show at home. They have some show offers, people giving web talks about different things as they would at the show etc.
you have to join the page and once the day comes you can access the show deals etc
