I think I'm swaying between the Bugaboo Fox and the Mamas and Papas Ocarro but o don't want to buy anything till I can push them around. I really hope John Lewis / M&P open before September!

Roxy8203 · 03/05/2020 15:21

I've jus it found out the whole family next door has the virus 🦠 seems a lot more really now. We have heard coughing through the wall for a week so joked but didn't think they would actually have it. Case numbers have been so low in the West Country

ShiningStarz · 03/05/2020 15:44

@LatteLover12 the bugaboo fox 2 is out of stock on all sites in black. 7 weeks delivery time as a minimum!! I signed up to get an email from Bugaboo as soon as it's back in stock and I plan to just order it! Hope shops open soon too but to be honest I wouldn't be running to them, still v cautious xx

Lazydaisydaydream · 03/05/2020 15:52

Roxy8203 · 03/05/2020 15:59

@Lazydaisydaydream oh lush. What did you get?

LatteLover12 · 03/05/2020 16:07

Oh no @ShiningStarz if I end up wanting one it's defo the black I'll be after 🤦🏼‍♀️

Agh, I don't know what to do!

Might wait to see what BoJo announces on Thursday. Has anyone seen the Irish 12 week plan? It looks really sensible and I hope we follow it.

ShiningStarz · 03/05/2020 16:12

@LatteLover12 yep I agree looks good.
Not sure if NI will do what Ire / UK do lol we are stuck in the middle !!

Lazydaisydaydream · 03/05/2020 16:21

@Roxy8203 I bought the rainbow whales babygrow and matching hat, and some matching leggings for my toddler. My husband said he's not sure about matching outfits but I think it will be cute Grin.

Roxy8203 · 03/05/2020 17:26

@Lazydaisydaydream lovely, nice and colourful and nothing wrong with a bit of coordination 😄

sianyflewog · 03/05/2020 19:32

We have a Silver Cross travel system and it is solid, such good quality. We also used to use the pram as a bassinet during the day if we were visiting people @ShiningStarz.

I still haven’t bought anything. I can’t stop looking at clothes, but I am so reluctant to buy any girls clothes until we know for sure! We have a gender scan booked for the end of this month, fingers crossed the place is open. The Sainsburys TU sale will also start that week I expect, so don’t rush to buy anything from there yet ladies!

ireneadler101 · 04/05/2020 09:48

Hi all,

First time posting - due on 10 September :-) I'm starting to think about buying some bits for the baby, but noticing that lots of newborn sized clothes are sold out. I'm hoping that stock will improve over the next few weeks, so in the meantime trying to work out what I will need to get.

The Mumsnet checklist suggests eight each of sleepsuits, bodysuits, vests and babygrows. But what is the difference between each?! Sleepsuit is obviously PJ-style babygrow, but what is the difference between a bodysuit, vest and babygrow?!

ShiningStarz · 04/05/2020 12:06

Hi @ireneadler101 welcome and congrats!
I'm not sure if you can scroll back but I posted my list of things to get a couple weeks ago.

I had to google all that to learn what a baby grow / sleep suit is what they live in the first few weeks day and night. It's the all in one. Best to get ones with the scratch mits integrated.

Then the body suit is what goes under, can get short sleeve, sleeveless or long sleeve and there's no legs. Like a vest.

My due date is 9th :)

ShiningStarz · 04/05/2020 13:44

I should add I'm a first timer newbie lol!!!Maybe should trust the ones who have been here before 🤣🤣🤣💜

Lilice · 04/05/2020 14:26

Hi @ireneadler101 welcome. For me, a vest is a bodysuit and a sleepsuit is a baby grow. My son lived in sleepsuits for the first few weeks, but I had fun dressing up my girl in cute tiny outfits 🤣 I would recommend getting newborn sleeping bags. I struggled finding ones that are small enough for newborn babies but I more comfortable using them rather than blankets, in case they go over their face.

Lilice · 04/05/2020 14:38

I've noticed my calves got bigger. Its uncomfortable when I kneel. I did get swollen legs in previous pregnancies but not that early on. I know I'm probably fatter already but surprised i can feel it in my calves. Has anyone noticed the same?

Lilice · 04/05/2020 14:40

I use my cross trainer up to an hour every day. Could it be my muscles getting bigger? I thought it would tone my legs, not make them bigger!

OrDis · 04/05/2020 15:46

@lilice I had this exact same thing today. I knelt down to pick something up and it felt uncomfortable like my calf had swollen a bit. Can’t see any visible swelling and measured both calves and they are the same diameter, but it felt bizzare!! I then ate lunch and drank a lot and when I kneeled again it was back to normal. Could you be a bit dehydrated??

Lilice · 04/05/2020 19:25

@OrDis yes sounds very similar to what you are describing. I drink a lot but mostly in the evening, which is silly because then I wee all night. I'll try and drink more in the morning and see if it makes a difference.

ShiningStarz · 04/05/2020 20:18

I'v had the calf cramps a couple times when I wake in the morning. It disappears when I get out of bed and walk about a bit!

MooseWL · 04/05/2020 21:17

Hi Irene! I'm glad someone asked about the different clothes! I feel like I don't have a clue about anything! So in September for sleeping babies would need a body suit and a baby grow right? And maybe a baby sleeping bag? I also like the idea of them more than blankets.

Anyone else still being sick? I genuinely can't even imagine not throwing up every day, some days I'm convinced it's in my head and I just making myself sick!
I feel my bump has come out of no where today but it is probably just bloating!
I keep thinking I feel movements, but really unsure. I definitely don't feel a popping like other people describe!

Lazydaisydaydream · 04/05/2020 21:55

@MooseWL yes I plan on dressing the baby in a short sleeve popper vest, a babygrow (called same thing as sleepsuit?) pretty much all the time. I didn't like dressing my son in "proper" clothes until he was old enough to move around. Babies spend so much time sleeping I just think they should be as comfy as possible. During the day I'd layer up with cardigan or jumper, and at night most babies like to be swaddled. We used the Love to Dream swaddles with my son which were amazing as he could still suck on his hands which he found comforting. (picture from Google - not my baby haha)

Once your baby is here though you'll figure out pretty quickly what works for you and what they like/dont like. Every baby is different after all Grin

Lazydaisydaydream · 04/05/2020 21:56

Oh and im still feeling queasy but now it's from heartburn 🤢🤢 have learnt which parts of the day to take gaviscon to try and catch it before it starts!

Sulkypatsy · 05/05/2020 07:23

Big scan today. I'm sick to my stomach with nerves. 🤮

emma278 · 05/05/2020 07:49

Good luck @Sulkypatsy im sure everything will be great! X

MooseWL · 05/05/2020 08:09

Enjoy it @sulkypatsy. Mines a week away I must be almost the last?

Ooh those swaddles look lovely @lazydaisydream :)
